Interviewed: [SCP-XXXX colony's communications center hereby referred to as SCP-XXXX-CC]
Interviewer: Dr.█████
Foreword: An interview was scheduled by the site director to learn more about the historical development of the colony and the creation of the vessel.
<Begin Log>
Interviewer: Hello XXXX, can you hear me?
SCP-XXXX-CC: Hello, we are receiving you clearly.
Interviewer: Perfect, as you know, the higher ups have requested this interview so we could ask for some historical records.
SCP-XXXX-CC: As much as we wish we could transfer our data, we have already told in our last interview that our technology is incompatible with yours, but I can pull up our historical records from our database and pull it up here on the screen and use it to answer any questions you may have.
Interviewer: That works for me.
SCP-XXXX-CC: Ok I pulled it up from the database, go ahead and start with your questions.
Interviewer: What is the environment like where SCP-XXXX-A originated from?
SCP-XXXX-CC: You are referring to the Genesis Race? They originated in a single pond in another dimension. We called it the Genesis Pond since it was the birth place of the Genesis Race. The pond was typical for the region. The high content of an element, which will not translate into any human language, made the pond a violet color. The pond was devoid of life with the exception being the bioluminescence algae that the Genesis Race fed upon. The floor of the pond had abnormally high metal content, often with large deposits of pure titanium and magnetite.
Interviewer: Ok, so when did the experimentation with metal begin, and how was it possible for your single cellular structure to do so?
SCP-XXXX-CC: With our blessing of sentience we also have developed the ability to easy manipulate our environment as a side effect. This allows us to create and work with tools, interact with our advanced interfaces, and even make delicate peices of machinery by pseudopod. Also to answer your first question, the time we first interacted with metal would be difficult to put into human terms due to the fact that our home planet actually based on a 45 hour daylight cycle unlike your 24 hour cycle. Although, we can describe the history leading up to our vessel's creation if that is what you wish?
Interviewer: Yes, you may proceed.
SCP-XXXX-CC: Very well. So when the Genesis Race first interacted with the metal during our Primitive Era it was out of curiosity. They first just simply fumbled around with it and moved the pieces around. After what was most likely about one Earth year, they began making simple pseudopod held chisels out of them. This led to the development of more finer of the simple tools and the eventual experimentation with more efficient methods of food production.
SCP-XXXX-CC: Then began the Gardening Era. They invented simple gardens lined with nutrients dug from the pond floor and enclosed the algae in simple walls close to the surface to encourage mass diffusion in the algae. Also during this time they began to develop more want for shelter due to the high amount of energy being used demanding privacy for rest and relaxation. They constructed makeshift huts out of the titanium metal.
SCP-XXXX-CC: Then soon came the Experimental Era. The Genesis Race became increasingly curious and began more advanced experimentation. They carve deeper into the earth eventually discovering a hydrothermal network deep under the pond. This was then used to begin fusing the metal together. More prestigious projects were started with more complex tools being slowly invented when a previously never seen sentient species perishes near the pond dropping a mechanical hand held tool into the water.
Interviewer: May you please describe this sentient species?
SCP-XXXX-CC: It shows a photo of a metal carving here that shows it as a bipedal life form covered in reptilian scales with a face resembling your planet's geckos with the exception being it's three eyes. It also had a tail, antlers, and a small amount of body hair in locations similar to male instances your species.
Interviewer: Thank you, please continue with the historical archive.
SCP-XXXX-CC: Your welcome. Any way, the Genesis Race thanked the instance for his gift and began carving statues in the villages of what they began calling "The Giver". At the same time they also began researching and deconstructing the object which was similar in function to your species cellular phones as according to the written descriptions. They began reverse engineering the device and often reconstructed replicas of the object in hopes of learning how it operates.
SCP-XXXX-CC: This led to the Technological era as they repeatedly failed at making functional replicas and made several hundred unintentional inventions of complex technology. They even at one point developed a containment specialist group for the control over three anomalies that rose from the constant experiments. They constructed cities with working power grids, power tools for the most complex projects, and the first advances in transportation. This period continued for a very long indeterminate amount of time. When they finally discovered that the main function of the device was for communication they took apart the device and stored the multiple pieces in several museums. We by then had a fully functional passive anarchy society that had a trade based economy.
SCP-XXXX-CC: This then led to the Exploration Era. They invented land drones in hopes of discovering either other microbes or the society the Giver came from. They discovered hydrothermal springs filled with bacteria, hydrothermal fumaroles home to many extremophiles, and further clues to the Giver's society. Due to the extreme differences in intelligence to the other microbes they encountered, they decided that it wouldn't immoral to take a few individual specimens of bacterium and extremophiles back home. This was when they discovered their anomalous effect on other microscopic life. The bacteria and extremophiles showed initial confusion when attaining sentience, but due to the generally accepting community gladly integrated them into the community. As those specimens reproduced already sentient offspring, the larger bacteria engaged in more effort extensive jobs, and the naturally adaptive extremophiles worked in the hydrothermal zones.
Interviewer: Any way we could get to the creation of the vessel, the schedule today is very tight and we are willing to get into the more definitive details some other date.
SCP-XXXX-CC: Don't worry Doctor, we were just about to get to that part.
Interviewer: Sorry, please carry on.
SCP-XXXX-CC: Any way, they eventually entered the Panic Era upon discovery of a troubling fact. They had recently taken up astronomy and the study of the stars when they found out that their star was nearing the end of its life and was getting close to becoming a supernova. The Genesis Race quickly came up with an idea to save their legacy and entire society. The exploration teams had just discovered the massive nearby lake and had taken up transporting what little life was found there in the form of bacteria capable of digesting soil, algae with even greater bioluminescence than the Genesis Pond's algae and capable of becoming sentient unlike said algae, and large amoebas capable of the most strenuous of jobs. After being incorporated into the society they immediately helped dig a large trench and the invention of technology that would extract moisture from the atmosphere to fill the Genesis Pond with more water. Then began the construction of the massive vessel. The darkprints of the vessel were designed in the shape of the Giver in the hopes of still meeting the Giver's society that they wouldn't alarm them with any unnerving alternative.
Interviewer: Have these darkprints ever undergone any changes?
SCP-XXXX-CC: No, the darkprints had to be all perfected on the first go around, because if they wasted any time discussing changes then it would mean less time to build the vessel, in which case was already not very much time. So as soon as the plans were perfected the construction immediately began. All duties were redirected towards only the construction of the vessel and the bare necessities such as food harvest. Even the containment specialist group changed their priorities and used the anomalies in the fabrication of new anomalous technologies. This type of tech was sparce in amount due to the extreme limitations of materials that are required for its creation.
SCP-XXXX-CC: Among these anomalous devices are the spacial anomaly generator used for instantaneous inter space travel and interdimensional travel, the energy potential inverter that turns potential energy into electrical energy as a means of creating an infinite energy cycle to power the vessel with only needing to fuel it once, a hull adaptability potentializer that can manipulate the atomic structure of the hull's outer layer enable to make immune to any sort of corrosion matter, pressure, temperature, and absorb any sort of radiation or potentially harmful energy, and finally the environmental equilibrium that keeps the environment within the vessel the same pressure, temperature, and even works as a gravity stabilizer and reality anchor.
SCP-XXXX-CC: They also made sure to add means of self defense and hover technology within the feet for the traversal of unstable or fluid terrain. After a long period time the vessel was functional and had the bare necessities for our survival as well as the materials for the means of improving the interior and the construction of the more inferior but still preferred locations such as living spaces and museums.
SCP-XXXX-CC: Finally came the year of departure that would soon lead to the Wandering Era. Everyone was loaded into the vessel as well as their belongings. Data was backed up into the vessels expansive hard drive. All artifacts were loaded into a temporary storage unit. Photos were taken of the home they would soon leave for dexterity and the possible integration of the now completed virtual reality system. Due to the size of the colony it took a year to do this. When everything was ready the vessel started to ready the spacial anomaly reactor while the vessel took the last exploration of the Genesis Race's home planet. They integrated a few specimens of a bioluminescence amoeba colony they came across and collected samples of areas they haven't seen before, but they eventually came across the settlement of the Giver, but do you wish for us to continue?
Interviewer: Absolutely, please do.
SCP-XXXX-CC: Well the settlement was mostly abandoned and only one teenage female and adult male of the Giver's descendants were found alongside an egg. They had sad faces and when the saw the vessel they weren't alarmed. There is an audio file of the interview that went on but it exists only as an audio file so it is incompatible for my console, but I will have our data technicians create a translated audio recording of it capable of being transferred into your database, if you are willing to provide us a flash drive seeing as giving us direct interface with your network would be highly inappropriate.
Interviewer: That is fine with me, but I will have to check with the site director for permission since even a flash drive can cause an easy breach of our foundation database.
SCP-XXXX-CC: Ok, we understand. Anyway shall we continue any further?
Interviewer: Sure, just be sure to stop with a summary of your initial spacial anomaly based travel.
SCP-XXXX-CC: Understood. So after the events during the interview they keep the egg safe within a special space in the spacial anomaly storage sectors within the tail of the vessel. They promised to keep the egg in stasis until a suitable home can be found for it. The sun then began to rapidly increase in size and the temperature slowly started to rise. They activated the spacial anomaly generator and teleported us to a new planet in another star system just as the giver's descendants slowly passed out from the heat exhaustion. That was a very dark time for our colony and they had mourned the loss of their home planet for months and they built a memorial due to the mass extinction of the very people whose existence we have to thank for our survival.
Then began the wandering era. We had first arrived on a planet comprised of mostly ocean. We integrated a few species of new bacteria into our colony there and collected more supplies. After that we began exploring planets, moons, and dimensions. We had even been to your planet a few times in the past, but immediately left each time since your people were in currently in war every time we visited. We met several sentient species and integrated a few new species of microbes into our colony due to the large size of the vessel giving us the capability of having higher numbers of population than Genesis Pond could support.
Interviewer: Wait you mentioned an egg?
SCP-XXXX-CC: Yes I did. The egg is the last descendant of the giver's species. It been kept in stasis during our entire wandering era. Would you like for us to extract it from the pocket dimension storage.
Interviewer: Not now, but I will let the site director know and allow him to make the decision on a later date. As for right now I will have to end this interview due to time constraints. Thank you for your time SCP-XXXX
<End Log>
Closing Statement: The site director was notified of the presence of the egg and as of yet he has not given any directives concerning the egg. The next day the site administrator has giving SCP-XXXX the permission to use a flash drive in hopes of getting more information on the "Giver's" species.
