SCP-6001
rating: 0+x

Item #: SCP-6001

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-6001 is to be contained in a 1 m by 1 m reinforced glass cube lined with aluminum inside of a 5 m by 5 m steel room. All interaction with SCP-6001
is to be authorized by a level 3 researcher, and during interaction all necessary precautions must be taken. If any personnel comes in contact with SCP-6001, they are to be terminated immediately. If any personnel has come in contact with SCP-6001 and is not terminated, it could very much result in a TK-Class Total Human Transmutation.

SCP-6001’s container must also be cleaned once every three months. This process is to be overseen by two guards. A janitorial staff member wearing a hazmat suit must carefully move SCP-6001 into a clear container of similar proportions to its original container. Then the original container must be rinsed with bleach and water, then dried. Then SCP-6001 is to be returned to its container and the secondary cube must be washed in a similar fashion.

Description: SCP-6001 is a glittery black gel substance weighing ██ kg. SCP-6001 has shown little signs of extensive movement capabilities, but can move small distances at a time. When a living organism comes in contact with SCP-6001, small parts of the gel come unattached from SCP-6001 and are absorbed into the pores of the organism. SCP-6001 then proceeds to replicate itself by moving from cell to cell until the entire organism is corrupted (corrupted organisms were named SPC-6001-1). Once the organism is completely corrupted, SCP-6001 has complete control over the infected organism, SCP-6001-1 can then spread SCP-6001 to other organisms it comes in contact with.

Any and all attempts to remove SCP-6001 from the organism’s system before complete corruption have all failed, resulting in the death of the subject. The speed in which SCP-6001 corrupts the subject varies depending on the species of the subject, though commonly reptiles are corrupted at a slower pace than mammals are. Birds are still in the testing process, as well with insects, mollusks and arachnids. SCP-6001 can not corrupt nonliving objects like statues. SCP-6001-1 has been found to become neutralized when the host dies, although SCP-6001 can sustain it’s form without a host. SCP-6001-1 can only be exterminated by means of decapitation, burning, drowning and natural degradation.

SCP-6001 was discovered by the Foundation inside of an Egyptian tomb in the year 19██ after a team of archeologists went haywire, destroying many files on the contents of the tomb. Foundation researcher Derek ██████ created a theory that SCP-6001 caused many mass extinctions, including that of the dinosaurs. The origin of SCP-6001 is unknown to the Foundation but research is underway to try to figure it out.
