Hi! I'm syniaie, and I love to write. I've had a couple SCPs sitting around for a while so I wanted to take a chance and actually try and post them, or at least one! I'm VERY new to being part of a forum, so please be a little patient with me if I can't figure things out. I also have no idea how to format things on here, so please bear with me. I'm really glad to be here and I hope you all enjoy!

SCP-XXXX - Nature's Lonesome King

Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained inside SCP-XXXX-2 and resting on SCP-XXXX-1, together put inside a safe located in Storage ██ in Site ███. It is not to be taken out unless approved for testing.

Description: SCP-XXX is a nonfunctioning gold pocket watch engraved with a stag standing atop a cliff on it's front and a tangle of rose vines on the back. It stands hanging from a steel rod bent to support it, known as SCP-XXXX-1, and a glass case with a wooden base, collectively known as SCP-XXXX-2.

SCP-XXXX, when inside of SCP-XXXX-2 and hanging on SCP-XXXX-1, is harmless. When SCP-XXXX-2 is opened, a cool, sparkling mist will emerge from the bottom portion of SCP-XXXX-2, along with a distant rumbling akin to the sound of a waterfall. When SCP-XXXX-1 is removed from the lower half of SCP-XXXX-2, plants of various species and sizes will begin growing rapidly around the subject, on any surface, in a radius of 7 meters. (NOTE: The plants can and will grow in skin, although at a slower rate. They will ingrain themselves in the body and are almost impossible to remove without termination or removal of the contaminated body part.) If SCP-XXXX is removed from SCP-XXXX-1, the subject will lose all visual abilities farther than a 4 meter radius.

After this point, the visions seen by subjects has varied. Out of 150 tests using D-Class subjects and researchers alike, 78% of subjects report being approached by a large stag, staring into its eyes for several minutes before it walks away out of the shortened visual range, no change occuring in the plants. 20% report being approached by the stag with a dirty coat and several bullet wounds, alongside a bent left front leg. It will proceed to lie down in the plants, causing them to wither slightly, before crying out in apparent pain and sorrow. 2% report being approached by the stag as it cries blood silently, it's skin slowly decaying until it becomes a skeleton and all the plants surrounding them die. In only one instance, a subject reported being approached by a shambling, half decayed corpse of a stag, the plants surrounding them quickly burning to ash as the stag vomited blood and intestines upon them.

When SCP-XXXX is returned to SCP-XXXX-1, the visual range will return to normal and the visions will dissipate. The plants surrounding them, however, will stay in the same state as the vision dictated. Returning SCP-XXXX-1 to the base of SCP-XXXX-2 will not cause the plants to dissipate. (NOTE: Plants will continue to spread if the subject moves in any direction until SCP-XXXX-1 is returned to the base of SCP-XXXX-2.) Bringing together both pieces of SCP-XXXX-2 will cause the mist to dissipate and stop the noise.

SCP-XXXX along with its pieces were found in ████ as an heirloom of the ███████████ family residing in ███████, Arizona. SCP-XXXX was transferred into the SCP Foundation's custody after bartering in return for $75 USD.
