Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is meant to be kept in a small room built out of non-magnetic metals. All site staff are meant to be searched for any magnetic material at a checkpoint, at the end of a dirt road, at the entrance of the site prior to entering for their shift.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a luminescent, red sphere that levitates approximately 2.5 ft. above the ground. SCP-XXXX is heavily attracted to any form of magnetic material within 50 ft. of its current location. This includes material within a staff member's bag, clothing, or any surgically implanted devices. Magnetic ID tags on personnels' clothing also seem to attract SCP-XXXX as shown from Incident XXXX-1. SCP-XXXX does not harm humans unless they are in its path when moving to a new magnetic surface. (See Incident-XXXX-01) SCP-XXXX appears at the hottest side of the spectrum when looked at from under a thermal camera, despite D-Class participating in experiments saying that it is "cold to the touch". The foundation is constantly researching the reason the entity is so attracted to magnetism and ways to negate this attraction. After 2 experiments related to SCP-XXXX's magnetism, there is still no way to negate this attraction. SCP-XXXX has undergone 2 experiments in an attempt to better understand the anomalous properties.
Experiment XXXX-I: █ weeks after initial containment, foundation researchers sent a Class-D personnel into SCP-XXXX's containment. The D-Class was ordered to progressively get closer to the entity. After approaching at a distance of approximately █ feet away, no negative effects were observed to the D-Class. The D-Class was asked to touch the entity, and, after initial refusal, they then touched SCP-XXXX and declared that it was "hard" and "cold to the touch." The Class-D was then escorted back into containment.
Experiment XXXX-II: Foundation personnel set up a room with █ electromagnetic surfaces to test how SCP-XXXX determines which surface to attach to. First, all surfaces were switched off, and security personnel used handheld electromagnets to move SCP-XXXX into the testing area. Next, one of the surfaces was switched on, and SCP-XXXX immediately moved to attach. Once the second surface was activated, XXXX started to bounce between the two surfaces at 208 mph. Personnel proceeded to activate the remaining surfaces, and XXXX bounced between all of them at consistent speeds. All surfaces were switched off, and security personnel moved XXXX back into containment.
Incident XXXX-01: Following the day of SCP-XXXX's retrieval, a janitorial personnel came on-site with a magnetic ID card attached to his shirt. He got through most of his routine of cleaning the site until he came within the range of SCP-XXXX, which sensed the ID card. SCP-XXXX [DATA EXPUNGED] and stopped once it touched the back of the ID card. Security personnel were alerted and used handheld electromagnets to bring the SCP back into it's containment cell.
