Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in [storage locker, format later]. SCP-XXXX may only be removed Level 3 or higher personnel for testing. [Format later] Public records of SCP-XXXX-2 instances are to be falsified as per standard disinformation protocols, passing off all incidents as the result of abuse and/or mental disorders.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a standard-issue CZ-75 SP-01 pistol, identical to other weapons of the same model. Various tests have revealed that SCP-XXXX's internal and external compositions do not vary from other weapons of the same model, save for a few small scratches on the grip and magazine loosely resembling a whale. When SCP-XXXX is fired at a human target, henceforth classified as SCP-XXXX-1 the target's consciousness is seemingly instantaneously swapped with that of the nearest whale, henceforth classified as SCP-XXXX-2 within an undefined radius, seemingly somewhere between 25 and 250 kilometers.
Incident Report XXXX-A: SCP-XXXX was discovered by Tyler Lorrwal, a facility guard within Site-██, during a security breach. D-13373 was attempting to escape Site-██ when they encountered Lorrwal, who drew his sidearm and opened fire, causing D-13373 to become an instance of SCP-XXXX-1. D-13373 proceeded to fall to the floor, convulse, and emit high-pitched cries similar to whale calls. Approximately ███ kilometers away in the ███████ Aquarium, a male sperm whale (Physeter macrocephalus) was affected by SCP-XXXX, becoming an instance of SCP-XXXX-2. SCP-XXXX-2 began displaying considerable distress. Witnesses reported SCP-XXXX-2 struggling to remain afloat, difficulty breathing, and colliding with the walls of the enclosure. SCP-XXXX-2 expired approximately 15 minutes after the initial SCP-XXXX incident due to pulmonary edema. By the time SCP-XXXX-1 was initially recovered, it suffered from a collapsed lung and expired approximately 30 minutes after the initial SCP-XXXX incident, despite the efforts of Foundation medical personnel. Due to the public location of SCP-XXXX-2, many video recordings were leaked. A Foundation misinformation campaign was launched, explaining the incident as the result of a seizure. SCP-XXXX-2's cadaver was retrieved for study.
