Item #: SCP-5144

Object Class:Euclid

Special Containment Procedures:
SCP-5144 is to be kept in a 300x300x300 foot room, with electromagnets creating a field that effects the metal's electromagnetic properties, repelling it from moving through the walls of the chamber. There is a door that is to be kept locked on the southwestern corner of the eastern wall. Only those with a clearance level of 3 or above may enter the chamber.
Description:
SCP-5144 is a slab of highly polished zinc metal, about 9 inches in height and width, and about an inch thick. SCP-5144 weighs a little under 21 pounds, or 9.5 kilograms. SCP-5144 has the ability to float freely, despite it's weight and chemical composition, and can pass through matter. Any matter it passes through seemingly disappears, though non-living matter seems to reappear in an indefinite amount of days, the longest recorded wait being a door on Site-[REDACTED] in the lodge of D-738, lasting 6 months.

A team of 3 level 3 researchers, Doctor Vent, Doctor Ipecauna, and Doctor Lorel, bring D-3805 to the chamber of SCP-5144. The Electromagnets are lowered, and D-3805 is given a battery powered radio and a portable camera. D-3805 enters the room, and is ordered come into contact with 5144. D-3805 touches 5144, and disappears instantly. Dr. Ipecauna leans into the provided radio and asks if 3805 can hear him. There is brief static, and then a muffled yes.
