Item #: SCP-5000
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5000 is to be
kept in a 5x5 meter room and to be monitored at all times through surveillance systems set up inside an outside of
SCP-5000's container. In the event of loss of power or total system failure, two or more D-Class personnel are required
to enter SCP-5000's container and manually lock the door behind them to prevent possible catastrophic damage to facility resources or members.
Description: SCP-5000 is an sentient scarecrow composed
of organic material that once seen, will stalk said person
and attempt to kill them in what seems to be a means of harvesting organs and flesh for consumption. SCP-5000's origin is unknown and was first observed by local farmers sometime in the late 1890's, in which locals referred to SCP-5000 as "The Angel of Death" as it has been thought to have kidnapped small children who claim to have heard SCP-5000 call to them.
Personnel terminated by SCP-5000 appear to be dismembered and placed on a tall cross shaped pylon, possibly in an attempt to create other versions of itself. So far SCP-5000 has not successfully breached containment, but has managed to damage surveillance cameras during rolling blackouts. Personnel are instructed to keep from making direct contact with SCP-5000 at all costs, as it has been known to secrete a substance that is toxic to organic and inorganic substances. Any body part exposed to these substances are to be removed immediately to prevent further infection. The long term effects of exposure with SCP-5000 are currently unknown, but no known casualties have been known to be directly related to direct contact with SCP-5000.
