Special Containment Procedures: All residencies within a one-mile radius from SCP-xxxx have been evacuated, and their former occupants relocated under the guise of a health and safety operation. A perimeter is to be maintained approximately half a mile from SCP-xxxx. All entrances to SCP-xxxx are to be constantly monitored, and a semi-monthly sweep of neighboring buildings is to be performed to check for the appearance of similar entrances.
Should at any point the recovery of a subject within SCP-xxxx become feasible, MTF Psi-7 (“Home Improvement”) is to be tasked with recovery of said subject.
Description: SCP-xxxx is the basement of the Richmond residence, an upper-middle class rural family home in ██████, Alberta. SCP-xxxx is affected by a spatial anomaly causing the topography of SCP-xxxx to extend far beyond the basement’s external limitations and regularly violate spacetime relativity and the laws of physics.
SCP-xxxx consists mostly of white-plastered hallways which either appear to be in the final stages of a home renovation or play host to various Richmond family memorabilia.SCP-xxxx is accessible by way of a small stairway located in the house’s ground floor. Several smaller entrances are spread throughout the ground floor, however utilizing these has been deemed unsafe and runs the risk of destabilizing SCP-xxxx’s spatial anomaly.
Any individual entering SCP-xxxx with the purpose of exploring it will be subject to most, if not all, of the following:
An inability to navigate their way out of SCP-xxxx1
A discrepancy between time spent by individuals within SCP-xxxx and time passing outside of it.
An apparent lack of the need for food or drink
An almost religious devotion to the exploration and securing of SCP-xxxx
Eventual formation of a rigid, militaristic methodology for said exploration
A lack of response to attempts at communication by individuals not directly contributing to the exploration of SCP-xxxx
Gradual deformation of facial structure to exaggerate wrinkles, cheekbones and lower jaw
To date, all attempts at an expedition by the Foundation have resulted in the subject becoming trapped inside SCP-3980 until camera battery ran out.
Incident xxxx-1: Junior Researcher ████ ████████ was performing a basic Hume test next to one of the smaller entrances when they witnessed a person exploring the hallway to which the entrance led. The old man had a number of ridgelike growths around the eye sockets, causing his eyes to appear unnaturally sunken. Reportedly the man looked directly at ████████ before yelling “Sector’s clear, fall back to Main” over his shoulder. A younger man then passed by the hallway and disappeared back into SCP-xxxx and was followed by the first man.

Discovery: SCP-xxxx was discovered following the disappearance of █████ Richmond (age 46) and ████████ Richmond (age 32) while they were reviewing a large-scale renovation of the home’s basement. A further two police officers were lost within SCP-xxxx before an embedded operative alerted the Foundation. Note that █████ Richmond and ████████ Richmond match the description of the two men in Incident xxxx-1
