Illustration of several ICBM variants used in SCP-XXXX-A

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: All instances of SCP-XXXX are to be placed and kept under maximum security at Site 79 in Austria, and SCP-XXXX Warheads and Rockets are to be contained in separate units. SCP-XXXX instances function using the standard "Buddy" system, and as such any keys capable of authorizing a launch of SCP-XXXX are to be destroyed, with the exception of those in possession of Level 5 Staff.

A misinformation/historical research campaign has been enacted, with a particular focus on the correspondence of members of the defunct Bolshevik Party.

Should an SCP-XXXX instance detonate, containment should focus on the rescue and decontamination of affected individuals rather than neutralization of resulting phenomena.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a series of Weapons of Mass Destruction developed by both the USA and the USSR during the Cold War. The Soviet variant, designated SCP-XXXX-A, was developed by an extremely secretive branch of, or faction within, the GRU Division "P" which appears to have been anomalous in and of itself, and as such has been classified as SCP-XXXX-1. An agent of the UIU managed to infiltrate the GRU in 198█, leaking several documents including some related to SCP-XXXX, leading to the development of an American variant designated SCP-XXXX-B.

SCP-XXXX-A, developed in 19██, utilizes modified Soviet UR-100N ICBMs as bases for an anomalous warhead. It was apparently referred to as the Мг-р9 (MG-R9) or Мироглот (Miroglot, Russian for "World Eater" or "World Swallower"). 43 instances1 are known to have been produced, although there is a possibility that several remain in possession of Groups Of Interest or the Russian Government.

SCP-XXXX-B, nicknamed the "Skybreaker", was reverse-engineered and developed in 198█ and 199█, based on the LGM-118 Peacekeeper model. Only 12 were ever built, all of which were surrendered to the Foundation at the behest of the UN and GOC

SCP-XXXX was originally discovered by the UIU in 199█, following the detonation of an SCP-XXXX instance over ███████████ Bay, Canada. Lack of familiarity with SCP-XXXX and SCP-XXXX-B remaining untested led the Unit to classify the event as an Unusual Incident rather than a hostile attack. It wasn't until the Foundation traced the detonation's unique Hume signature to a SCP-XXXX-1 facility in Russia that SCP-XXXX was properly identified and classified. Despite this, no such launch was authorized, and no missiles were detected by either party in the area, suggesting a clandestine launch and/or anomalous origin of the instance.

While SCP-XXXX warheads contain very little explosive potential, the detonation of an SCP-XXXX instance results in a sudden drop in Hume readings, followed by Manifestation of several hostile subentities and other phenomena theorized to result from certain reality-bending properties of SCP-XXXX. Although SCP-XXXX produces no detectable radiation, the aforementioned effects and their spread follow a pattern similar to fallout released by a nuclear detonation, and individuals are known to become "contaminated" by SCP-XXXX's effects.

███████████ remains uninhabitable to this day, although the self-stabilizing properties of Hume fields is expected to negate this by 2███

Addendum XXXX-1: Recovered Materials

Excerpt from unedited version of the Testament of Vladamir Lenin, expunged following the testament's presentation to the Communist Party's Central Committee

But Comrades, Allies, Friends, we have more important matters to discuss. I am doubtless you have heard of the [DATA REDACTED], a metaphorical shadow on our periphery, always just out of reach. I used to think of them as nothing more than an urban legend, but I have come to believe that it is not so. When our Red Flag went up on that fateful October Day, we took a stab at the dark, and it appears that our knife has struck something greater than all of us.
The forces of chaos are on the march, and while some may suggest we meet them head on, and others may say we stand aside and let them fight our battles for us, there is one thing none of us can deny; they are dangerous and they must be controlled.

A response to a letter from one member of SCP-XXXX-1 to another, found in the office of ███████ ██████

It is finished. We are done. I give you our magnum opus, the MG-R9. All the destruction in the universe sculpted into one awesome structure. It is almost beautiful.
As for Ulyanov's opinion of us, do not fret my dear. He, like any sane man, feared us like a child fears a shadow on his bedroom wall. And after all that, he gave us the revolution that birthed us in its chaos, and without the poor man's rambling [illegible] would have never known how to raise his gun against Kirov. In a strange twist of irony, he gave us a refuge and fortress we could have only dreamed of.
Thank you, for everything.

Addendum XXXX-3: Recovered Materials

A letter from ███████ ██████ which accompanied the SCP-XXXX-A blueprints leaked to the UIU

There are many things I whisked away from the Reds. Black hole bombs, biological starships, my lover, more cruise missiles than I can count, but this takes the cake. They call it a "World Eater". I have debated this decision for hours and hours. How can anyone knowingly hand a weapon of this magnitude to any nation on this fragile earth? How can one even consider it?
But I have made my choice. May God have mercy on my soul. I don't know how the Soviets found this, but they are playing with a fire beyond our wildest dreams. I cannot let them continue. And so it is that I send you this letter, not for America's sake, but for humanity's.
Tell Alexandrova I love her

███████ ██████ Was found dead in his office the following day

Addendum XXXX-4: Recovered Materials

First-hand account of a resident of ████████, a coastal town near ███████████ Bay;

I guess I was lucky I got caught on the outskirts, otherwise I wouldn't be alive right now. Have you ever heard an EWS? I hadn't until that point. Goddamn those things are terrifying. I once heard someone say they were like the Stukas from the war, except worse. You can't run from an a-bomb. Even with that in mind, I ran. Like hell. Pushing through bushes, stumbling on roots, took me half an hour to realize the blast should've caught up by now. I was relieved to know I wouldn't have to deal with that nightmare. What I got instead was worse. Much worse. I would call them "things" but that doesn't really fit. It was as if someone took the absence of a thing, a lack thereof, a pure void, and fashioned it into something indescribable. They spread like a plague and were just as lethal. I just kept moving deeper into the wilderness, but eventually I had to circle around. That's when I saw the helicopters. They were buzzing around like houseflies, some firing off weird lights at the town trying to keep whatever had spawned there at bay. One of them swooped in to pick me up, but after we started to rise one of the more nimble "things" caught us only a few meters off the ground. It just rose up out of the dirt, like water spilling in reverse. It looked at us, and next thing I knew it was on us. I'm the only one left, I have to finish this before it circles back around.
You don't understand. They don't hunt, or destroy, or conquer. They are simply Chaos. A Reckoning waging endless war against logic, against order, against understanding.
Friend, it's pointless, God's giving us respect
