Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe/Euclid/Keter (indicate which class)
Special Containment Procedures: At the current point in time there is no viable method to physically contain SCP-XXXX, therefore steps were taken to reduce public knowledge and interest in SCP-XXXX.
Sightseeing guides are altered to not mention SCP-XXXX. Positive newspaper reviewes, as well as online reviews, are completly deleted and replaced with negative and, given the need, slandering reviews.
The local surroundings of SCP-XXXX are to be monitored at all times and potential guests of SCP-XXXX are to be disuaded from entering.
Due to its location being near a high populous area, joint efforts with the chinese government were made to build a dam at the nearby local river, ██████████, in hopes of discouraging moving into the area. To date the efforts were somewhat succesfull, and the populace is slowly declining.
Description: SCP-XXXX is an old chinese teahouse, dating back to the 9th century. It is located in ██████, china. According to press releases, before they were altered, SCP-XXXX is one of the oldest teahouses of china. It can house about 70 people at once, with room for storage and a staff room.
SCP-XXXX is able to manipulate and permanently alter the emotional and mental state of any living being entering its vicinity. Usually a person entering SCP-XXXX feels more happy and the sudden urge to drink some tea. After drinking 4-5 cups of tea, the happiness and drinking urge fade. Once a person visited, being away from SCP-XXXX for a prolonged time awakens the need to visit again, reaching its peak at around one week. At this point negative emotions are more pronounced in a person, the emotion being most pronounced varying from person to person, probably due to personal preference. This effect gets more potent the more often a person visits.
Additionaly it was observed that a person that visited for over a year had strongly altered emotions and mental states.
SCP-XXXX is operated and maintained by four humans of chinese descent, dubbed SCP-XXXX-1 to SCP-XXXX-4 respectively. Although not much is known about the individuals, all of them have in common that they are indestructable and seemingly live in SCP-XXXX.
SCP-XXXX-1 is an elderly woman with short, grey hair, always wearing a traditional chinese garb. As of right now, she is responsible for serving "esteemed" guests (see Addendum 3), brewing the tea and managing the sales.
SCP-XXXX-2 is a huge, corpulent man, with no hair and only wearing a white garment and black trousers. As of right now, he is responsible for serving guests and keeping order.
SCP-XXXX-3 is a young woman, with long hip-long, black hair, changing her outfit every other day. As of right now, she is responsible for serving guests and managing non anomalous employees.
SCP-XXXX-4 is a young man, with short, black hair, wearing a kitchen chefs outfit (though SCP-XXXX contains no kitchen). As of right now, he is the most recent addition to SCP-XXXX (see Addendum 1.2) and only brews tea, as well as works behind the scenes.
As mentioned above, there do work non anomalous people, mostly parttime. Most of them leave after 1-2 years of working, with no withdrawal symptoms like normal visitors. Foundation is still looking into this behaviour.
Discovery: Dr. Zhou, working for the chinese government, before being recruited by the Foundation, noticed in the 1960s stranges cases of mental illness, linking back to SCP-XXXX. In 1967 the Foundation was asked for help in containing SCP-XXXX.
For the time period between 1967 to 2000 the Foundation launched multiple attempts to physically contain SCP-XXXX, with all resulting in the complete loss of on site Foundation personnel and equipment.
After 2000 the Foundation forbid any kind of aggressive behavior towards SCP-XXXX, instead launching the disinformation offensive.
Addendum 1.1: This is a snippet of the third documented attempt to physically contain SCP-XXXX.
07.05.1985
After the last two attempts failed, it was decided to use lethal ammunition against the employees of SCP-XXXX.

Addendum 1.2: In 1985, two months after the third attempt, it was concluded that SCP-XXXX-1 to SCP-XXXX-3 were created by SCP-XXXX as a form of protective mechanism. This conclusion was changed in 2000, when SCP-XXXX-4, a formerly longtime employee of SCP-XXXX, was formed. The current hypothesis is, that SCP-XXXX can alter the anomalous state of a being.
