Any items touched by those affected by SCP 4391-3 are to be sterilized and dissolved in QRTZ-2902-401 and/or dissolved by HHKE-4391-122.
Description:
SCP-4391-3 is a virus, incurable by all current means, with a rate of infectivity at 95%. It affects almost all organisms, and can be spread via touch or contact with air and/or bodily fluid. SCP-4391-3 is very hardy, and can survive for decades outside the host body. The progress of the infection is very slow, with some subjects going several years before noticing any symptoms. However, most subjects experienced paralysis and death within 72-hours of first symptoms appearing. Symptoms seem to only show in mammals as experiments in ███████ show no signs of infection but dies within 36-hours of infection.
SCP-4391-3 alters the genetic coding, leading to constant mutation. However the mutation is controlled and only goes one specific way for reasons not understood3. The hair of infected changes to a russet colour and the skin transforms into a black sludge similar to the infected blood. SCP-4391-3 appears to have been a residue from SCP-4███ however, found after the accident with Doctor ██████.4
Document 4391-3.1: 03/29/1973 Discovery
Doctor ████████ was infected at site █, after SCP-███'s containment was breached. He reported experiencing tiredness and a cough. He was put into quarantine where it was discovered he had 2 sets of DNA, Chimerism was expected but after a second test showed 5 strains of DNA Doctor ████████ was put into permanent quarantine according to Safety Protocol ████.
Document 4391-3.2: 02/05/1990 Symptoms
892 Weeks after infection he5 developed a rash on his left ankle, Doctor Coulson ran tests on both legs where it was discovered Doctor ██████ had no kneecaps, the knees were transformed into some black half-liquid. Doctor ██████’s hair became a russet colour and his skin on left knee was non-existing, However, Doctor ██████ was not aware nor able to see or feel the complete breakdown of his body.
Doctor ███████ was supposed to get a MRI and PET scan but experienced total organ failure 53-hours after first symptom was reported.
The room was sterilized before SCP-3753 was to be contained there, however all janitorial staff was kept in quarantine for 24 months as a safety requirement from 05 Council. Half of the janitors were later released from quarantine after 16 months without any symptoms.
Document 4391-3.3: 02/05/1990 Autopsy
The autopsy of Doctor ███████ was not possible, upon opening the stomach a neurotoxin was released in the air, paralysing Doctor Karev and Doctor Ivanko for about 32-33 minutes before the room was injected with HHKE-4391-12 and the neurotoxin was neutralised. The neurotoxin appears to not be toxic nor cause permanent damage, however as a safety precaution Doctor Karev and Doctor █████ is under permanent surveillance and weekly interviews. Should any of the infected suffer any symptoms6 they shall immediately be put into a 3 month complete quarantine according to safety protocol ██.
Document 4391-3.4: 04/02/1992 Incident
Doctor █████ was found dead at tuesday the 4th in his home after missing the weekly interview and psychiatric evaluation. Cause of death appears to have been a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Four gunshot wounds were found, one in his left hand, one in his right tibia, one in his sternum and one through the head. No records of Doctor █████ purchasing a gun exists. Video camera ██ and █ see clear how he shot himself.
Document 4391-3.5: 05/02/1992 Autopsy
Before the autopsy of Doctor █████ all staff inside are required to wear hazmat suits and 2l of air, they are only allowed work in 10 minute shifts. However, upon opening SCP 4391-2B all staff were paralysed. It appears that even the skin was toxic. HHKE-4391-12 was pumped into the room but to no effect. Incineration procedure was activated according to safety protocol ██, however after the room reaching about 90 degrees celsius everyone in the room were pulverized. Cause has yet to be found. Incineration was continued until the room reached maximal safe temperature
Document 4391-3.6: 12/03/1993 Experiment 4391
██ Class D subjects were given level 2 access.
Upon getting injected with 4391-1’s blood 3 of the subjects died from blood clotting, 8 of the subjects however quickly developed late-stage cancer in multiple organs and died within 48-hours of injecting SCP-4391, cause of death appears to be total organ failure. It appears the virus continues to mutate in the new host but instead of taking years before developing symptoms it continues from when it was harvested.
Document 4391-3.7: 01/17/2015 Incident
After the accident at ████████ it was shown symptoms of SCP-4391 had changed the whole genetic structure of the brain's cells of Patient ███████. It was later revealed that Patient ███████ was one of the janitors released from the quarantine early. Patient ███████ reported ocular irritation and had visible metal shards in both eyes, and was later diagnosed with subconjunctival haemorrhage.
Due to the metal shards MRI scans were not performed and 13-hours after containment Patient ███████ died due to total organ failure. All remaining janitors and staff were put in quarantine again but to no success as to 3 of them dying of stress related heart mutation7 before reaching the facility. The remaining ██ janitors were given level 2 security clearance upon reaching the closest SCP facility, Site █ , Area ██ and Area ██ were put in lockdown about 1-hour before any subjects reached the facilities however SCP-4241 was neutralised.
Document 4391-3.8: 01/02/2019 Research.
Class D subjects have been injected with early stage SCP-4391 and are in section █. █ of the subjects have suffered blood clotting while rest are currently not suffering from any symptoms. Weekly administration of HHKE-4391-33 in █ percent of the subjects.
