Item: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures:
SCP-XXXX is to be stored in a 30x30x15 metre non-humanoid containment chamber. The chamber is to be fitted with slots near the roof of the chamber, capable of releasing up to 10,000 litres of salt or fresh water in under 3 minutes. The chamber is not to be equipped with windows, the only method of viewing SCP-XXXX is to be through a waterproof CCTV camera which can be turned off remotely from outside of the containment chamber.
At any time no more than one person is to view or be inside the containment chamber outside of approved testing.
Before viewing the object or entering its containment chamber, potential entrants must be submitted to interview to see what they consider to be an ideal pet, including species, breed (if applicable) and behaviour, in order to minimise the risk of a containment breach.
During feeding of SCP-XXXX, the CCTV camera is to be disabled, at which point one researcher who self-identifies as a dog lover is to enter the chamber and place down one bowl containing 500mls of water and one bowl containing 1 cup of standard dog food. This feeding is to be repeated twice daily, between the hours of 6-8 a.m and 4-6 p.m (at the most convenient point for researchers). Under emergency conditions, both meals can be delivered at once, though this should be avoided wherever possible to help preserve the health of the object.

Description:
SCP-XXXX is a dog cat unidentifiable organism that appears to all observers as whatever they believe to be an ideal pet. SCP-XXXX exhibits all behaviours that the observers would expect from their ideal pet.
Whenever there is more than one observer of SCP-XXXX, the object duplicates itself so that all observers see their ideal pet (designated SCP-XXXX-1). Each one of these SCP-XXXX-1 instances is only perceptible to the observer that generated it (designated SCP-XXXX-2). Any interactions performed by an SCP-XXXX-1 instance is not perceivable by organisms other than the associated
SCP-XXXX-2 instance. All perceived differences are fully corporeal to the instance.1

Addendum-XXXX-1:

Addendum-XXXX-2:
It is currently unknown whether the expiry of one instance of SCP-XXXX-1 will result in the expiry of the entire entity, so to prevent the loss of the object, SCP-XXXX is to be regularly fed and its containment chamber is to be fitted to support aquatic forms. Remember to be gentle with the entity, we don't know how strong each form is.
