Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be placed underneath a floor. Preferably wooden planks, with the aorta facing the floorboards. SCP-XXXX is permanently stored in Interrogation Room #095, unless the room is under repairs.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a human heart that beats when a witness is lying. The farther said witness gets into a lie, the louder the heart beats. This witness shall henceforth be called SCP-XXXX-1. The witness has a 93% chance of breaking underneath pressure from the heart. Normally, proclaiming to destroy the floor, or confessing. The only odd incident is written under Incident Report - SCP-XXXX. The remaining 7% consist of high functioning sociopaths, psychopaths, and a few people with an IQ below [REDACTED]. Those who do not break, and do not suffer from psychopathy or sociopathy will become progressively more intelligent, until fully aware of their actions. The witness will then either commit suicide, or confess. As very few people who pass are not psychopaths or sociopaths, there is no average of the chance of suicide or confession.
Addendum: Revised Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be held in a non-opaque container, minus the top. If at all possible, SCP-XXXX should be held at the highest point in the facility that is still hidden. If anything is to cover the top of SCP-XXXX any entity capable of speech above said point is to remain silent.
Addendum 2: Revised Description: SCP-XXXX is a human heart that beats when a witness is lying. The farther said witness gets into a lie, the louder the heart beats. This witness shall henceforth be called SCP-XXXX-1. The witness has a 93% chance of breaking underneath pressure from the heart. Normally, proclaiming to destroy the floor, or confessing. As of ██████, containment protocols have been changed. This change is due to Incident Report - SCP-XXXX. The remaining 7% consist of high functioning sociopaths, psychopaths, and a few people with an IQ below ██. Those who do not break, and do not suffer from psychopathy or sociopathy will become progressively more intelligent, until fully aware of their actions. The witness will then either commit suicide, or confess. There is a 98% chance that an intelligent person who passes will commit suicide, normally tearing out their own heart.
Note: Note: On various occasions, personnel have been asked why SCP-XXXX isn’t stored somewhere such as the moon. The answer is simple, no matter where an item is stored, where it could possibly be. It will inevitably face the opposite direction. That direction would be Earth. It would be impossible to find SCP-XXXX-1. We have agreed this could lead to a GH-0 'Dead Greenhouse' scenario, as it could cause a chain reaction spanning the entire earth. If this were to happen, the loss of human life would be substantial, and could reveal the existence of the Foundation, and anomalous creatures. This would be because there would simply be no explanation for multiple people’s hearts to be ripped out.
Incident Report: SCP-XXXX-1
Witness reports say that D-75613 attempted to destroy the heart. While other witnesses say that Researcher Thomas Yimson attempted to destroy the heart.
5 days after these claims. Researcher Yimson and D-75613 became progressively smarter. IQ tests are run every 12 hours.
10 days after these claims. Researcher Yimson was found studying the heart to an extent rarely seen. Camera footage shows that he had been there for 56 hours. D-75613 suffered from increased heart-rate. Due to his valuableness as a control subject, he was given medical care.
15 days after these claims: Witnesses state that D-75613 “heart beat right out of his chest.” Whilst other witnesses claim that he had ripped out his heart, whilst proclaiming “Hark! Witness my calmness as I proclaim my innocence!”
20 Days after these claims: Researcher Yimson reported a sense of calm. Medical scans show that he has reverted back to his condition 21 days ago.
35 Days after these claims: D-5671, D-5512, and D-4561 are found dead in their rooms. These three were among the witnesses of D-75613, and the only three that claimed that his heart flew out of his chest. The other 5 witnesses were put under close observation. There were 18 witnesses to their deaths, with two variants of the events. One stating the victims ripped out their hearts, and the other stating that their hearts beat out of their chests.
40 Days After these claims: 17 witnesses were found dead in their cells. Any witnesses to these events were terminated. After 8 months of observation, there have been [REDACTED] foundation personnel found dead due to similar reasons.
