Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: As of 5/16/20██ there is no arrangement to retrieve SCP-XXXX. SCP-XXXX is to remain under perfunctory surveillance by researchers at Observation Post Herakles-19 in ████████, California.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a uniform polyhedron roughly 7.3 m long on all axes. SCP-XXXX is made of a reflective black material that is yet unidentified. As of 5/16/20██, SCP-XXXX is suspended in empty space on the outer edge of NGC 3631 in the constellation Ursa Major, some 35 million light years from Earth. The object is moving at a velocity so slow it can be said that it is functionally still. The object has traveled less than 400 km in ██ years of observation. SCP-XXXX is speculated to be some manner of exploratory probe or craft, alien in origin. As there are no visible openings or portholes on the object, it is hypothesized that the reflective material SCP-XXXX is composed of acts like a one way mirror, allowing passenger visibility.
SCP-XXXX was first observed in 20██ from a low-orbit space telescope by astronomers at NASA, who were studying irregularly structured galaxies. On discovering the phenomenon, NASA passed their research along to the Deep Space Anomaly Department at Observation Post Herakles-19 for further analysis.
SCP-XXXX is visited precisely every 436 days by a fast-moving gray object no more than 2 m long, designated SCP-XXXX-1. The geometry of SCP-XXXX-1 is uncertain, as the object is small and moves extremely quickly through space. On visitation, SCP-XXXX-1 will affix itself to one of the many faces of SCP-XXXX and linger for a period averaging 8 minutes, then depart again at incredible speed. The function of SCP-XXXX-1 is unknown. All attempts to track SCP-XXXX-1 to it's point of origin have proven futile.
While the nature of SCP-XXXX will likely remain indeterminate, many experts have pronounced their own hypotheses about the craft. Attached are several reigning theories per longtime observers of SCP-XXXX.
