My Butterfly

Butterfly, can you hear me? Come on Butterfly, it’s time to wake up.

Take it easy Butterfly, I know it’s been a rough day, but you’re safe now. I think the drugs they gave you should wear off soon, but you shouldn’t do anything too crazy for a bit.

I know you’re probably wondering how we got here, how I saved you from those vile Jailers. I’ll admit, it took a lot of doing to pull it off, I had to deal with a few of them on the way out, but don’t worry, it’s all been taken care of.

Don’t worry Butterfly, we’re in a safe place, they’ll never find us here, I made sure of that. Even if they ever put together that the stories don’t add up, there won’t even be a hint of a trail to follow, we’re free as can be. We’ll finally be alone together.

Shhhh, it’s okay Butterfly, there’s no reason to scream, it’s all over. Let’s not ruin this beautiful moment we have together.

Come on Butterfly, why are you acting this way? I thought you’d be happy to see me again, after all this time!

Now that’s just uncalled for, here I am, having just risked my life to rescue you, and now I have to take all this abuse you’re throwing at me.

Oh come now, must we go through all this again? Are we just going to go through the same tired routine of insults, and threatening to do me harm? I thought we were past this point in our relationship.

Yes, yes, you’ll “pull my heart through my throat” and “squeeze the life out of me”, and you’ll make me “regret being born”, we’ve done this already.

Are you done? Have you calmed down now? Got all that anger out of your system? Good.

Look, I understand you’ve been through a lot, being locked up in that horrible place, but that doesn’t mean I don’t have feelings too!

I know our relationship didn’t end very well
