I firmly believe that experience is one of the most valuable resources a Foundation employee can acquire. The dangerousness of our jobs makes our lifespans somewhat shorter wich in turn makes our experience go to waste. No amount of field manuals and guides can compare to something experienced in the flesh. My request is to create a MTF that can provide specialized support to other MTFs through the use of powered exosuits, thus improving the survivability of their field agents. These exosuits would be modular to best adapt to every need (e.g. additional weapons and armor for combat MTFs, improved sensors and movement for exploratory MTFs, special para-tech for esoteric MTFs, etc.) and all the technology used to build them would be non-experimental and thoroughly tested before deployement into the field. This project has been recently concieved due to a shortage of knowledge on our part. Accumulated information leaked through the years from moles in the Church of the Broken God, the GOC and various thaumaturgical organisations has granted us the chance to set this idea into motion. As it is a support task force, its members will not deploy directly into the field, rather they will assist the agents using the suits. Members will be separated into: Researchers, Engineers, Instructors and Advisors. Reseachers will help in any Foundation project (be it scientifical, parascientifical, thaumaturgical or other) they deem useful to the accomplishment of the MTF's goal; Engineers will take care of the maintenance of the suits and will help develop and adapt any technology they deem useful to the accomplishment of the MTF's goal; Intructors are agents completely familiarized with the suits and will be responsible for teaching other agents how to use them; Advisors are retired or veteran agents from prominent MTFs who will indicate to Researchers and Engineers what are the necessities of each type of task force are and how to best satisfy them. I have provided founding for the prototypes and have personally tested all the main pieces of technology that will be used. There is currently a fully functional suit in my laboratory for testing purposes. Although this is certainly going to be an expensive project I sincerely hope that you take my request into account. Mission Statement:

Support Mobile Task Force Omicron-10 "" will assist other task forces through the handig of powered exosuits to field agents that will facilitate the accomplishment of their objective. It will also maintain and lead the improvement of said suits and their related technology.

Task Force Organization:

Researchers

Responsible of keeping track of and helping with any Foundation investigation projects they consider a useful contribution to Omicron-10. Projects related to mechanical, chemical and electronic engenieering, ballistics, neurobiology, physics and their paranormal counterparts have priority over others.

Engineers

Will develop technologies they consider useful aswell as adapting them to the suits. With this in mind they will be working closely with Researchers. They will be also tasked with reparations and routine maintenance.

Instructors

Agents specially trained, they will teach the supported MTFs how to best use the exosuits, their advantages and disadavantages and how to pilot them.

Advisors

Agents that have retired or have more than twenty years of experience, they must come from the most prominent MTFs of each classification selected above. They will adress the issues and needs of their respective task forces to Researchers and Engineers so that improvements can be made. These members do not have to abandon their MTFs to have this position.

Personnel

Researchers and Engineers tasked with development are to be recruited from all departments (especially those who work with the previously mentioned mechanical, chemical and electronic engenieering, ballistics, neurobiology, physics and their paranormal counterparts) and must have Clearance Level 3 or higher.

Engineers tasked with maintenance and reparations are to be recruited from the Engineering and Technical Service Department and must have Clearance Level 2 or higher.

Instructors must have at least 10 years of service as agents of any MTF and shall succesfully pass a neural tissue adaptation test.

Advisors should come from the following MTFs: Epsilon-9 ("Fire Eaters"), Zeta-9 ("Mole Rats"), Lambda-5 ("White Rabbits"), Mu-13 ("Ghostbusters"), Nu-7 ("Hammer Down"), Eta-5 ("Jaëger Bombers") and Psi-9 ("Abyss Gazers")

Suits Overview

Three main suit models have been devised: lightweight, heavy and extra heavy. The lightweight suit is the more exploration-oriented while the extra heavy is more combat-oriented.

Lightweight suit

Consists of an overlay of synthetic muscle and tendon over a simple exoesqueleton powered by a [Thaumaturgical battery] on the back. It accompanies the movements of the wearer by detecting changes in the magnetic field of the muscular nerves. Currently there is a reaction delay of 0.02s. The fiber density of the muscles can be adjusted to vary strenght at the cost of mobility and the percentage of effort taken from the wearer can be changed. This suit can add up to 3 times the normal human strenght to that of the wearer. A small wrist display shows all relevant information to the wearer (such as remaining battery, current strenght output, etc.).

The suit allows the attachment of modules through connections distributed through the surface. This modules include but are not limited to: helmet with head-up display, lanterns, armor plates, auto-winding climbing rope, various HAZMAT-resistent layers, oxygen supply and helmet, intravenous chemical dispenser, cooling-heating system, SCRAMBLE gear.

Heavy suit

Consists of a complete exoesqueleton with powered joints covered by an overlay of synthetic muscle similar to the lightweight suit but at its full density. An array of armor plates covers the whole suit save for the armpits, the posterior section of the knee, the anterior surface of the elbow and the hip joint's interior face. These plates are modular and can be removed and changed for others. The movements of the wearer are detected by a nueral sensor array in the helmet or by a direct brain-computer interface. The suit adds 10 times the average human strenght to that of the wearer and the effort taken can also be adjusted.
