Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Thaumiel
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept under constant watch by foundation personnel living in nearby houses to ensure no damage is done to the outside of the structure either by natural or human causes. Any damage noticed by foundation personnel is to be immediately fixed and a notice is to be put into the mailbox of SCP-XXXX upon completion. Maintenance on the exterior of SCP-XXXX is to be performed as needed and includes, but is not limited to painting, lawn care, power washing, and miscellaneous landscaping.
The houses surrounding SCP-XXXX have been bought by the Foundation in order to keep foundation personnel within sight of the property at all times. All vehicle and foot traffic passing by SCP-XXXX is to be monitored and tracked.
Weekly visits to SCP-XXXX-A, the resident of SCP-XXXX, are to be performed by foundation personnel with clearance level 3 and above only.1 Any personnel visiting SCP-XXXX-A must wear a collared shit and dress pants.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a 1-acre sized property at ████ ████ Road, ███████, ██ that causes all reality bending to cease and causes all anomalous objects to become non-anomalous. The cause of this is unknown and testing is ongoing. Along with this, the property also causes all visitors to have a feeling of calmness come over them the longer they are on the property.
On the property is a white single story prairie style home and a white shed; it is unknown if either of these structures are the source of SCP-XXXX's anomalous properties. The house has an attached garage on its northern side and an attached deck off the eastern side of the house.
Inside SCP-XXXX-1, lives an older woman who appears to be in her seventies, hereby referred to as SCP-XXXX-A. She prefers to be addressed as Lorene and all foundation personnel are to address her as such when visiting. SCP-XXXX-A has claimed to have lived in SCP-XXXX-1 since it was built by her late husband, hereby referred to as SCP-XXXX-B, in 19██. SCP-XXXX-A claims no knowledge of anything unusual occurring on the property during the time she has lived there. An interview with SCP-XXXX-A can be found in Addendum 1. Currently, it is unknown if SCP-XXXX-A or B were responsible for SCP-XXXX's anomalous properties, but in order to ensure containment of SCP-XXXX, SCP-XXXX-A is considered to be the source of its anomalous properties along with the on-site shed, house, and property itself, until the actual source can be determined.
SCP-XXXX-A is to be monitored at all times to avoid any accidents and to ensure that she returns home safely. She is not to be prevented from leaving the property to ensure that she does not become suspicious of the Foundation personnel keeping watch over her.
The shed on the eastern side of the property appears to be non-anomalous and has a number of non-anomalous items inside such as a riding lawn mower, rakes, shovels, and other items that are typical of a normal shed. Each item can be used for its intended non-anomalous purpose.
After measuring Hume levels across the entire property, researchers began to notice a feeling of calmness come over them and were instructed to scan themselves and discovered that their own Hume levels had begun to stabilize. Further testing showed that the rate at which the researchers' Hume levels approached the surrounding Hume level was equal to:
ΔHu = ██ █ ███ █ ███████
Upon leaving the site, their Hume levels began fluctuating again and the researchers reported the feeling of calmness was gone.
SCP-XXXX's other anomalous property appears when an anomaly crosses the properties border. When any anomaly crosses over the properties border, the anomalous properties become inert and, if relevant, the appearance changes as well. A list of anomalies have been attached in Addendum 2 along with their changes that occur when brought to the property.
The property appears to act as its own SRA and any reality bending powers or attempts to reality bend the property itself, when within the property boundaries, become impossible. Multiple attempts by the Foundation to introduce low level reality benders to the property have resulted in no changes to the properties Hume levels.
Discovery: SCP-XXXX's anomalous properties were discovered when foundation Researcher ██████, who was monitoring Hume levels in the area, noticed the property had a Hume level of 20 with a variability of 0.000%. As normal Hume levels fluctuate naturally, and there were no Scranton Reality Anchors within ███ km, the researcher reported the anomaly to foundation personnel who dispatched a team of researchers to manually check the Hume levels under the guise of checking for radon.
When the team pulled into the driveway on the property, they reported feeling a sense of calmness and lower stress levels than normal. After informing SCP-XXXX-A of the reason for the team being on site, the researchers scanned the property, the house, and the shed with Kant Counters and found that the local Hume levels were the same as what Researcher ██████ detected. Research team also requested to scan SCP-XXXX-A by saying that they wanted to be sure no Radon had seeped into her clothing. When scanned, SCP-XXXX-A showed a Hume level equal and constant to that of the property as well. Researchers are unable to be sure if SCP-XXXX-A is the source of the constant Hume level, but ask the Foundation to not bring her into Foundation custody as prolonged removal from the property might cause a small reality detonation in the local area that could cause rippling effects on a statewide scale. While SCP-XXXX-A does occasionally leave the property for personal reasons there has never been a recorded incident where XXXX-A has been off the property for more than 24 hours2. SCP-XXXX's hume levels do not appear to fluctuate when SCP-XXXX-A is not on the property.
Addendum 1: The following is a transcription of an interview with SCP-XXXX-A from June ██, 20██. This interview was disguised as an interview from the local historical society trying to get information on the local properties. Researcher Smith is giving the interview.
Begin Log
Smith: Good morning Mrs. ████, my name is Dr. Smith and as we previously discussed, I'm trying to gain information on your property for the local historical society. Are you still okay with answering a few questions?
Lorene: Please call me Lorene! And of course. Can I get you anything? There's drinks in the fridge, or some snacks on the counter.
Smith: I'm fine, thank you. Now, to start, What was on this property when you first bought it? Also, when did you first purchase this property?
Lorene: Oh there was nothing here besides farm land. My father, rest his soul, gave us a peice of his land when we got married as a wedding gift back in 19██ and my husband, rest his soul, built the house with his bare hands. He was a carpenter you know, so he could do all of that. He did the plumbing, the electrical, everything. He even… SCP-XXXX-A continued on for five minutes until being brought back to subject by Dr. Smith
Smith: Well to get back to the questions… Did you ever feel something special about the property?
Lorene: No I don't think so, we just enjoyed the outdoors since no one lived around here, besides my father, rest his soul, and the air was always fresh. We did feel like the area was special though-
Smith: Sorry to interrupt, but why did you feel it was special?
Lorene: Well because it was ours! You should always feel that where you live is special. Do you not feel that way about your home?
Smith: I can't say that I do, but this property feels special to me as well and those at the historical society.
Now one final question, is there anything about the property that you think would make it important to the historical society? Anything at all?
Lorene: Hmm… Lorene turns her head to think for a moment I can't think about anything! It isn't the older house around, that's my fathers, rest his soul. It isn't the biggest, that's the neighbor's that was built oh, 30 years ago now. New people did just move in though, and they seem nice but not very talkative. The original owners were much more talkative… She spoke of the other neighbors for 20 minutes before getting back on topic The most significant thing about this property is, I think, how people are always happy to be here! Though I think that has to do more with my cooking than the house itself!
Smith: Well thank you Mrs- I mean, Lorene. This was a wonderful conversation. I will let you know about how things go with the society. Have a good night.
Lorene: Oh alright! Are you sure you can't stay for dinner? I planned to make some meatballs with spaghetti. I even have cookies for dessert.
Smith: Well… I suppose that wouldn't hurt.

Addendum 2:
Below is a list of anomalies introduced to SCP-XXXX and the result of the introduction. Any transportation of SCP's is done by transportable versions of their containment cells if necessary. All anomalies and transport vehicles were brought onto SCP-XXXX under the guise of repairs and landscape work except for 2241, who was brought in as a grandchild of researcher ██████
No Keter class anomalies or anomalies that have a high chance of escape are to be introduced to SCP-XXXX under order of the O5 council.
| SCP introduced | Result of introduction to SCP-XXXX |
|---|---|
| SCP-131 | Upon crossing the property border, 131-A and B both changed appearance and turned into a red and amber tabby cat respectively. Subjects behavior were typical to how they normally acted at Site-19. |
| SCP-173 | Upon crossing the border, SCP-173's containment cell was opened and one Class-D personnel was put in with it. When asked what he observed, D-YYYYY claimed to observe a small painted peanut. By description of the paint markings, they matched SCP-173's markings when in an anomalous state. |
| SCP-2241 | Entity acted as a normal 7 year old boy and could not express any of his reality bending abilities. He enjoyed the cookies baked by SCP-XXXX-A and took a nap before departure. |
| SCP-049 | Upon crossing the property line, SCP-049's robes and mask became removable, however, it asked them not to be removed. It expressed a feeling of calmness and lower anxiety about "The pestilence". After leaving the property SCP-049 became agitated once again and wished to be brought back to the Foundation to continue research. |
