Item #: SCP-
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedure: All specimens of SCP- in captivity are housed at Site-██ and are to be stored in a 10m x 5m x 5m steel enclosure containing an icy habitat with water. Every 10 weeks SCP- 's containment habitat is to be cleaned out via robot and any waste or dead specimens of SCP- is to be removed from it's containment chamber. Temperature in SCP- 's containment is to be kept anywhere between 0 to 5°C at all times. SCP- is to be fed live guppies placed on the icy surface 3 times daily to prevent undernourishment. Under no circumstances is any specimen of SCP- is to be viewed by the human eye, whether via camera or not. Any injured or diseased specimen of SCP- is to be terminated via removal from it's habitat by a robotic arm and brought to an incineration chamber.
SCP- is to be treated as a low-level cognitohazard, and any such personnel who is suspected to be under it's influence is to be quarantined for approximately 24 hours before they can be released again, and any SCP- instance spotted outside of it's containment chamber is to be either recontained or terminated as soon as possible.
Description: SCP- is a species of penguin resembling infant Emperor Penguins (Aptenodytes forsteri) SCP- population is only about 30 in total, however this number changes due to various circumstances. SCP- does not seem to age in any circumstances and SCP- also does not seem to reproduce sexually however multiple specimens of SCP- manifest every year, usually about 10 to 20. It is unknown how these instances are generated as there is no record of SCP- mating at all, despite the fact that there are both males and females of the species.
SCP- 's difference to a non-anomalous Emperor Penguin (Aptenodytes forsteri) chick is that SCP- specimens do not tend to age and their natural method of foraging is through manipulation of sapient entities to go forage for food and return it to SCP- . In order for SCP- to manipulate a sapient entity, SCP- must be visible to the sapient being, either via camera or it being in their direct line of vision. SCP- will then preform a dance which will have a hypnotic effect on the subject which will cause the subject to perform any task under the will of the SCP- specimen. The tasks performed by subjects under SCP- 's influence may vary however it is mostly searching for food for SCP- or releasing SCP- from it's containment. Subjects can be under SCP- 's influence until the subject either falls asleep, is terminated or the instance of SCP- whom manipulated the subject dies. Subjects under SCP- 's influence have been known to take drastic measures to forage for SCP- and will go as far as to murder other humans nearby or commit suicide in order to provide food for SCP- .SCP- is known to be carnivorous and has been known to consume any type of meat, excluding meat of any penguins. However it seems to prefer any type of fish the most.
SCP- was discovered on November 1, 2005 in █████, Colorado. When reports of a creche of penguin chicks by park rangers in the rocky mountains came to foundation attention. Upon containment of all specimens of SCP-, difficulty was encountered due to SCP- 's manipulative dance effect, thus the Euclid classification was given to the entities upon containment at site-██.
