Item #: SCP-5083
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures:
SCP-5083 is permitted to live in the community so long as treatment continues to prove efficacious and SCP-5083 complies with all treatment and tracking protocols. SCP-5083 is to receive weekly home visits from Site ██ medical personnel for evaluation of mental state and blood hormone and drug levels.
Detection of new SCP-5083 pregnancies and pregnancies related to SCP-5083 offspring is accomplished through both targeted screening of contacts and sentinel surveillance of newborn/amniocentesis samples obtained for routine genetic screening.
Description:
SCP-5083 is a 27-year-old Caucasian male. It is medically and physically normal, except for a borderline low IQ.
SCP-5083’s anomalous properties manifest when it develops an intense sexual/romantic obsession with a female target, an event which occurs approximately once every two months without treatment. This obsession is characterized by SCP-5083 as a “crush”, and typically involves repeated attempts to seduce the target. When SCP-5083 is rejected, these attempts escalate into boundary-violating behavior, including stalking and unwanted physical contact. SCP-5083 targets are usually personal acquaintances but can include celebrities such as ████████████. SCP-5083 reports that these obsessions are spontaneous and involuntary and when they occur it is nearly incapable of thinking about anything else besides the target.
SCP-5083 targets usually become pregnant after SCP-5083 obsession develops. Physical contact with SCP-5083 is not required for pregnancy to occur. Offspring resulting from this process are healthy and genetically related to both SCP-5083 and the target. In two cases, SCP-5083 exposure has resulted in high-order multiple births (1 case of quadruplets, 1 of triplets); these cases appeared to involve unusually prolonged SCP-5083 obsession, lasting 7 months and 5 months respectively.
To date, 17 SCP-5083-related pregnancies have been terminated and 28 SCP-5083 offspring have been identified, ranging in age from 3 to 10 years. To date, no offspring have demonstrated anomalous properties and all appear generally healthy.
History:
SCP-5083 first had contact with authorities in 2008, when it attempted to enter the house of classmate ██████████ (designated A). In interviews with the police, A reported escalating stalking and harassment. Given SCP-5083’s status as a minor, the local DA did not file criminal charges but SCP-5083 was ordered to cease all contact with A and transferred to a different school.
Two months later, A became pregnant despite denying any sexual activity or partners. Following this, SCP-5083 was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault aided by amnestic drugs. While both parties emphatically denied any contact after the attempted home invasion, the genetic testing results and prior incident convinced a jury that SCP-5083 was guilty, and it was sentenced to 10 years in █████ prison.
During this period, the facility’s medical director, Dr. ███████████, became pregnant with quadruplets.1 The extremely low base rate of quadruplets and her reliable use of contraception prompted her to investigate, and genetic testing eventually implicated SCP-5083 as the father. Communications related to this event were intercepted by Foundation surveillance team PESKY EAGLE, who took custody of SCP-5083 under the pretense of transfer to a higher-security facility.
While initial attempts to prevent new pregnancies were not successful, a treatment protocol consisting of dopamine-blocking drugs combined with a chemical castration implant was found to completely abolish SCP-5083 obsessive behavior. In the two years after initiation of this treatment, no new SCP-5083 pregnancies were detected. At this time, SCP-5083 was reclassified as “safe” and relocated to community housing under supervision.
To protect Foundation operational security, SCP-5083 has not been made aware of the circumstances of its condition. It instead believes that it was wrongfully convicted of sexual assault and has been released under court-ordered supervision following successful drug treatment.
