Special containment procedures: SCP-7768 is to be covered with a 2 millimeter, camouflaged rubber tarp at all times. Leaves, Sticks, gravel and earth are to be placed on top of the tarp to further conceal SCP-7768. Requests for testing are to be given to the supervising researcher of site-102.
SCP-7768 is to be monitored every 2 days by a single security personnel disguised as a hunter to check if SCP-7768's cover has come off. If for any reason SCP-7768 is visible from beneath the tarp, the on-site security personnel is to re-secure the tarp again.
The tarp is only allowed to be removed for testing purposes.

Note: If tests are being conducted on SCP-7768, an area with a 300 meter radius around SCP-7768 is to be sorrounded by security personell, in order to keep civilians out of sight.

Description: SCP-7768 is an abandoned road located in the center of Shutesbury █████
████, Massachusetts, measuring 7,5 meters in width and 81 meters in length.
SCP-7768 consists of a construction aggregate mixed with bitumen. This compound is frequently found in most modern roads.
SCP-7768’ s surface appears to be light-black to dark-Grey in color, with a single white road marking running through the entirety of the anomaly.

Any Subject attempting to cross SCP-7768 horizontally or vertically, will falsely percieve walking to the other side, but instead, will arrive at the same position where they initially took there first step. For example, if a subject walks over SCP-7768 starting from the east side, they will end up on the east side.
It is currently not possible to cross SCP-7768 to the other side.

Discovery: SCP 7768 was discovered by a hitch hiker on the 17.█.20██, who posted a picture of SCP 7768 on social media together with his location, stating that no matter how many times he tried, he couldnt walk across it. The post was taken down by the foundation immediately and SCP-7768 was succesfully brought into foundation custody.

Procedure: D-67441 was instructed to walk horizontally across SCP-7768 backwards, starting on the east side and theoretically walking to the south side
Results: D-67441 arrived back on the east side but backwards
Analysis: Walking backwards does not affect the the anomalous property of SCP-7768

Test B - 13.██.20██

Subject: D-1377892
Procedure: D-1377892 was instructed to sprint across SCP-7768 horizontally, starting on the east side and theoretically arriving on the west side
Results: D-1377892 arrived eastward, sprinting **
Analysis: Sprinting does not affect the anomalous property of SCP-7768**

Test C - 05.██.20██

Subject: D-790361
Procedure: D-790361 was instructed to do a handstand across SCP-7768 horizontally, starting on the west side and theoretically arriving on the east side
Results: D-790361 arrived back on the west side standing on his hands
Analysis: Moving across SCP-7768 while standing on hands does not affect the anomalous property of SCP-7768

Test D - 17.██.20██

Subject: D-78864
Procedure: D-78864 was instructed to walk across SCP-7768 diagonally, starting on the east side and theoretically arriving on the south side
Results: D-78864 arrived back on the east side facing diagonal
Analysis: Walking across SCP-7768 diagonally does not affect the anomalous property of SCP-7768

1. SCP-7768's anomalous effects do not trigger when stepped on by a non-humanoid entity, like animals.

2. When the surface of SCP-7768 is covered with any type of material, its effects are immediately negated when stepped on. There must be direct contact of a subjects footwear and the surface of SCP-7768 to trigger any response from it.
