SCP-4365

Item #: SCP-4365

Object class: Euclid

Special containment procedures: SCP-4365 must have two soldiers stationed in front of the elevator doors on each floor it can be used on at all times to make sure nobody uses SCP-4365 without permission from high ranking personnel. Navigation between floors is to be done via the scaffolding built around the structure containing SCP-4365.

Description: SCP-4365 is an elevator within a tall, thin building in [REDACTED]. The building has 6 floors, and each floor is just one small room with a window. The elevator was the only way to reach higher levels prior to construction of the scaffolding by SCP staff.

The building that houses SCP-4365 reportedly built by expressionless men wearing white overalls. The men had proper, official planning permission despite the local council having no record of issuing such permission. The construction took only 38 hours. SCP-intervention occurred when locals reported seeing a strange man at the opposite end of the stairs every time.

Upon entering SCP-4365, it seems like a normal elevator. Each button corresponds to a floor and it will take the person in the elevator to their desired floor. When the elevator reaches the floor desired by its occupant(s) the doors will not open immediately. Subjects have reported hearing faint whispering, specifically one voice coming from every direction. This lasts for 10 seconds before the doors open.

After using SCP-4365, subjects approaching a staircase report seeing a figure at the opposite end of the staircase, that disappears after a second. They record the experience as "Petrifying" and has even led subjects to develop bathmophobia (fear of slopes and stairs). The figure, dubbed SCP-4365-1 has been described as a tall, well built individual wearing a long coat with the collar upturned. It wears a long black muffler scarf with both ends appearing to flow in the wind. The face is blackened out apart from two small, red eyes that stare with intent at the subject for the brief second it appears. The movement of its disappearance is said to be smooth and swift.

People affected are forced to live in bungalows and only work in places that have elevator access to all floors.
