Item #: SCP-4424

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: It is important however that it is given a low alkaline diet, otherwise it will need Bile Acid Sequestrant. Mating should be discouraged as their lifespans are so long they are unrecordable. SCP-4424-Bs should be contained in a location where energy from a combustion can be harvested. All other SCP-4424’s should be in containers that can withstand an explosion of up to 2,900,000 kilojoules of energy. Security can be minimal. It does not need to be watched for long periods of time, only brief occasional checkups to see if it is a new instance. Aside from the previous containment procedures. SCP-4424 requires standard care for a domestic pig.

Description: SCP-4424 look and behave as if they were domestic pigs. Whilet hey are most often pink, the colour of their parents can make them brown or glow in the dark when tested with Glow in the Dark DNA. They are 90cm to 1.9m, although very rarely larger sizes have been recorded with the largest being 2.3m across and 1.4 metres tall. The size of the specimen in that case was strangely disproportionate.

It is unknown whether SCP-4424 is an anomaly building off of Sus Suidae (pigs) or a completely different species. SCP-4424 are Safe-class organisms. They act and behave just like regular farm pigs and seem to be unaware of any anomalies. When SCP-4424 dies or is killed it spontaneously combusts with 2,594,080 kilojoules of energy (on average. The highest recorded is 3.5 million kilojoules.) After the initial explosion another identical instance of SCP-4424 is created, however it’s has double the liver. A SCP-4424 with one liver is known as a “first-gen”. Two Livers are, “second-gen,” four livers are “third-gen,” and so on.

When two SCP-4424 mate, the piglet has one less than the mean of the mother and father rounded down. When two “first-gen” SCP-4424’s mate, the piglet will lose a liver due to the anomaly, and will have no liver. It will die within a few hours, which will make another instance of itself but as it had no liver to begin with, it cannot be doubled and will continue to die every few hours. This instance of an SCP-4424 is often referred to as SCP-4424-B. (Giving the normal SCP-4424 the term, “SCP-4424-A.”)

The average time it takes for the specimen to combust is 3.36 hours, however the lifespan of SCP-4424-B will always be the same between instances as long it is the same SCP-4424-B.

Female SCP-4424-B’s combust too early to mate with other SCP-4424s or SCP-4424-Bs. Male’s do not live long enough to create sperm cells, so even IVF (In Virto Fertilization) is impossible.

SCP-4424-B can be contained and used to harvest energy from the explosion and converted to electricity. If many SCP-4424-B’s where created and genetically modified to combust faster then free energy farms could be created.

It’s important to note that SCP-4424 mating is disencourage as the specimen theoretically lives for the foreseeable future and no way to end it’s life has been discovered.

Unlike Sus Suidae, SCP-4424 females seem to be, “stronger” as they can stand more of the conditions they have been put through then their male counterparts. It is unknown whether the males are the average and the females are superior, or the females are the average and the males are superior. There seems to be high traces of testosterone in female SCP-4424. The ratio of testosterone to estrogen hormones (on average) is 1:7 making them 12.5% testosterone.

When given higher doses of testosterone via tablets, female SCP-4424 exhibits no change in behaviour. However when estrogen is put into male SCP-4424, it stays near the SCP-4424 piglets.

When given the liver of a regular pig, (whether in an SCP-4424-B or the liver taken out of an SCP-4424-A) an SCP-4424 will still double it’s livers in new instances, however the regular liver will stay the same. The chart below will demonstrate:

Generations Liver Count
1 1*
2 3
3 7
4 15
5 31

*This is the regular liver.

Formula:
B= Amount of livers in next generation.
A= Amount of liver in previous generation
B= (A x 2) = 1

SCP-4424 loses all memories with each new instance, as well as any tricks learned or training done, however it’s instincts remain and so do patterns. It has been observed occasionally that if the specimen is kind to an animal, e.g a house-cat, in it’s first-gen but attacked by a house-cat in it’s second-gen, its fear of house-cats would stick with it through the new instances of itself.

As well as this, it’s social standing is also affected. When a new instance of SCP-4424 is created, all other SCP-4424 treat it like a different creature despite it being identical on a physical level.

The amount of alkaline produced does not increase with the amount of livers, and instead the existing livers do less work and produce the same amount of bile, however, when exposed to heavily alkaline foods, at least one of the liver’s will work full time, boosting the organism’s alkaline levels. It will lose it’s production with the next instance of itself. While in the heavily bile instance of itself, SCP-4424-C it is important to give SCP-4424 Bile Acid Sequestrant to keep it healthy.

SCP-4424 when exposed to radiation:

Specimen Type Effects Without Radiation Effect with Low Dosages Effects with High Dosages
Sus Suidae (non-anomaly) N/A Loss of organ function, mainly in the lungs. Most commonly complete organ failure.
SCP-4424-A (Male)* N/A Very similar to the Sus Suidae except death is more common. Always complete organ failure.
SCP-4424-A (Female)* N/A Exactly the same as the Sus Suidae. Loss of organ failure with a very low chance of death. They seem to be the strongest when it comes to radiation poisoning.
SCP-4424-B (Male) Consistently combusts at 2,594,080 kilojoules of energy. The combustion increases to 2,900,000 kilojoules. The combustion does not surpass 2,950,000 kilojoules, however the time between instances is faster.
SCP-4424-B (Female) Consistently combusts at 2,594,080 kilojoules of energy. The combustion increases to 2,900,00 kilojoules, but the time survived without a liver is longer. The combustion does not surpass 2,950,000 kilojoules, however the time between instances is slower. The radiation keeps them alive despite having no liver for longer.
SCP-4424-C without medication. (Male) Heavy diarrhea. Diarrhea less common. Diarrhea more common, radiation poisoning can cause death which will cause in a new instance of SCP-4424-A.
SCP-4424-C with medication. (Male) Diarrhea less common. Radiation poisoning kills SCP-4424-C making a new instance of SCP-4424-A. Radiation poisoning kills SCP-4424-C making a new instance of SCP-4424-A.
SCP-4424-C without medication. (Female) Mild diarrhea. The diarrhea continued at the same average consistency. The diarrhea hardened into regular feces.
SCP-4424-C with medication. (Female) No diarrhea. No Diarrhea, only 0.034%** of female SCP-4424-C that we tested died of radiation poisoning. If SCP-4424 farming is popularised, this would be the recommended treatment of SCP-4424-C. No Diarrhea, however 1.34%** of SCP-4424-C died.

*Effects do not differ throughout different generations.
**These are all different SCP-4424s, no testing was done on a different instance of the same SCP-4424.

When SCP-4424 genes were inserted into D-Class personnel, (please note that the effect of each gene is unknown to most of us and as such we just took random snippets and recorded the effects.) they mostly experienced immediate and unprovoked combustion. One gene was found that increased the amount of radiation the D-Class personnel could experience. No gene was found that could make new instances of the D-Class personnel so there must be another factor at play.
The combustion from D-Class personnel was smaller than that of SCP-4424. On average it was 1,903,720 kilojoules. Using data from both SCP-4424 and the D-Class personnel tells us that the formula to find is the following:

A= Weight of the organism combusting in grams.
B= kilocalories of energy from the combustion.
C= kilojoules of energy from the combustion.

(A / 100) x 650 = B
B x 4.184 = C

This concludes the file on SCP-4424.
