SCP-XXX
Object class: Safe
SPECIAL CONTAINMENT PROCEDURES:
SCP-XXXX is currently contained at Site-77 and kept in a specially built 30x 15x 20 meter containment chamber. As SCP-XXXX itself can not move, only a standard security lock is to be on the door to its containment chamber. SCP-XXXX is to be cleaned at least once every other month and must be fired at least once every year by personnel with proper training.
DESCRIPTION:
SCP-XXXX is a 0-6-0 steam locomotive of the North British Railways “C” class. Numbered “65251”, built February 2, 1892.
SCP-XXXX is 15 meters long, 2.5 meters wide and weighing in at 75 tons
SCP-XXXX seems to be semi-sentient but only when perceived harm or aggression has or will be inflicted upon it. Anyone who attempts or has attempted to cause preserved harm to SCP-XXXX has expired or been severely injured in some form of an “accident” shortly after the perceived aggression. It is unknown exactly how or when SCP-XXXX became anomalies, but over its uncontained years it has resulted in roughly 116 deaths. SEE INCIDENT LOG-XXXX
It is also unknown how SCP-XXXX is able to harm individuals or if SCP-XXXXhas a radius. Though it has been noted that SCP-XXXX shows no visible change while doing so, and has not shown any change since its containment. Full research into SCP-XXXX abilities is pending though minor testing has been approved.
ACQUISITION:
SCP-XXXX became known to the foundation on June 19, 1963 when operatives in the British ministry of transport heard of a “cursed locomotive”. After identifying and locating SCP-XXXX, which was at the time in Bathgate, Scotland, the foundation was able to acquire SCP-XXXX on July 30, 1963. On August 12, 1963 SCP-XXXX was successfully transported to Site-54 for initial study. Upon inspection, SCP-XXXX was found to have no visible differences to other non anomalous locomotives of the same class.
SCP-XXXX was cleared for minor testing November 3, 1963.
SCP-XXXX was downgraded from Euclid to Safe on July 12, 1964 and moved to Site-77
TESTING LOG:
TEST: SCP-XXXX -1
January 15, 1964
One D-class personnel. D-6838 a 27 year old caucasian male, was placed into SCP-XXXX containment chamber for a period of 4 hours to observe if SCP-XXXX showed any anomalous effects. D-6838 was instructed by research staff to investigate SCP-XXXX, D-6838 compiled, climbing on and inside of SCP-XXXX. After the 4 hours period, nothing anomalous was viewed, D-6838 was returned to his cell and the test ended.
TEST: SCP-XXXX-2
February 1, 1964.
One D-Class personnel. D-7224, a 38 year old mediterraneans male, was given an array of items such as wrenches, bottles, and tomatoes. D-7224 was instructed by research staff to throw the items at SCP-XXXX. D-7224 complied and began to pick up objects and throw them at SCP-XXXX. After D-7224 had expended all of the items D-7224 was instructed to await further for 10 minute to observe if SCP-XXXX would show any anomalous effects. Upon the end of 10 minutes, the test was ended.
NOTE: When D-7224 was being escorted from the room the door to SCP-XXXX containment chamber inicplicpily closed on D-7224 breaking 5 of his ribs. This was quickly recognised as retribution by SCP-XXXX and is listed as such. Further examination of the door found no trace of anomalies tampering in either wiring or mechanics.
D-7224 made a full recovery and experienced no other retubutions from SCP-XXXX
CONCLUSION:
As of July 12, 1964. SCP-XXXX has been downgraded from Euclid to Safe, at the recommendation of Doctor Cross
INCIDENT LOG XXXX-1:
On December 4, 1957. James Beck, a British railways employee, had marked SCP-XXXX for withdrawal and scraping by the end of that month. After getting off of work at approximately 5:18 pm He boarded a train from Charing Cross Station towards his home in Hayes, sitting in the rear car. After his train had stopped at a red signal, at approximately 6:20 pm his train was rear ended by another passenger train. The collision killed Beck and the others in the rear car instantly. This event is now known as the Lewisham rail disaster, in which 90 were killed, and 109 injured.
The official cause for the accident was that the driver of the Cannon train had “missed” all the danger signals. Only after the containment of SCP-XXXX was this event attributed to it.
It is unknown if SCP-XXXX had some memetic effect over the driver of the second train or another unknown factor. A later interview of the driver, he states his memory just before the accident is fuzzy. It is unknown if this is a lasting effect of SCP-XXXX or a result of injuries he received during the crash.
INCIDENT LOG XXXX-2
On July 28, 1963, while being unloaded from its vessel in Rostock, East Germany. Foundation Staff observed Fritz Roller, a Dock Worker, operating a diesel shunter. The worker was viewed handling SCP-XXXX roughly, bumping it harshly. Approximately 120 seconds later an lifted shipping container inexplicably broke free and crushed the aforementioned dock worker.
NOTE: This was the first recorded SCP-XXXX incident observed while in foundation custody.
ADDENDUM:
As SCP-XXXX to our knowledge has not caused any injuries outside of testing, we have concluded that SCP-XXXX is “content” with its current placement.
