Clearance level 4
Item# 5127
Object class Euclid

Special Containment Procedures
Subject is allowed time outside of containment for a maximum of 12 hours to socialize with personnel involved with 5127. No guard is required as an escort unless during transfer of facilities. Contact with SCP-5127 is not allowed unless staff is of security clearance 3 or higher. Personnel under required security clearance MUST have a written note by chief of security over 5127, Research of 5127, or a member of 3 or higher in order to make contact.
Description:
SCP-5127 was discovered on 5/17/2002 in the mountains of Maine by Agent Cobalt. Cobalt was hiking up the mountain to investigate reports of multiple ghost sightings from a group of hiking teenagers. About halfway up the mountain, he had seen a figure in the darkness slowly following him. He had let the figure follow him for about 15 minutes when he stopped walking and turned around to confront the figure. The figure had appeared to have disappeared from view when he noticed something he had said to have felt “static”. Cobalt then turns around to find the figure looking at him from 10 metres away, apparently studying him. Cobalt then proceeds to try talking to the figure with little success. Subject (now classified as 5127) was then taken into custody of the foundation under the supervision of Doctor Shanks. During testing, 5127 has been quite cooperative when given tasks (see Testing 5127-001\C1-C4). 5127, also known as “Silver Specter'', seems to be a mostly passive entity unless physically provoked, via harm to itself or to those it has gotten close with. Attempts to communicate with SCP-5127 have been successful and conversations with research staff have revealed that the subject’s goal is to protect its peers as well as “The One” from abnormalities, the identity of “The One” is still to be determined. SCP-5127 is a tall (7’9”) humanoid figure that wears a long black cloak with silver edges. Tentacles are made of a flesh-like rubbery metamorphic substance and come out of it's back and neck. The tentacles on it’s neck cover its face like a mask, and test results have shown that it is able to neutralise/filter out most hazardous chemical, biological, and even moderately radioactive substances.

Testing:
— 5127/001) Subject is brought into a test chamber and is asked to “shock” several objects including, 6” steel cube (1), 6” rubber cube(2), one gallon of water (3) and a basic electronic device(4). 1: object started heating up rapidly to the point of vaporizing. Vaporization happened 10 seconds after initial shock, and plasma arcs were seen returning to 5127 shortly after. 5127 appears to have full control over the electricity that it emits to great effect.
2: 5127 was asked to repeat the previous task and proceeded to do so. Results were the same.
3: results were the same with a small difference. Electricity was seen going through the water at very high speeds and even the slow-motion camera that was setup had a hard time keeping up with the speed of the electricity. Current theory is that 5127’s lightning is faster than light.
4: vapourized instantly in a violent explosion relative to the object's size.

—5127/C1) formal attempt at verbal communication proves unsuccessful. Test lasts for ten (10) minutes.

—5127/C2) visual communication is attempted with LED lights, Unsuccessful. Test lasts for ten (10) minutes.

—5127/C3) radio was placed on a desk in front of the subject. 5127 looked at the object, apparently studying it. Static and other noises started coming from the radio, presumably an attempt at communication by subject.

—5127/C4) the radio was brought in front of 5127 once more in an attempt to try to communicate again. The static was still present in the radio, until staff decided to change the frequency to 53.13Hrz. After the adjustment was made, there was a distinguished voice emanating from the static. The voice was mostly eligible and communication was made.

Footnote :
5127 is to be considered for possible weaponization against other SCP’s
5127 has been requested for a test as a “guardian” for SCP retrieval teams, permission pending.
Dr.Shanks, head of research for 5127, to 04 staff.
“the subject has started to grow close with the research staff recently and is quite cooperative when experiments are taking place. It has recently requested that it be allowed out of containment and into a “common” area within the research lab to be in more contact with my staff. I concur with 5127 and believe that it could be helpful to both 5127 and staff. Awaiting your approval.”

04 to Dr.Shanks,
“Your request has been approved and I am intrigued by the possible results and believe 5127 to be a valuable asset.”
