Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5849 is to be kept in a heavily soundproofed rectangular room no larger than 7 feet wide, tall, and deep. The room should be well lit at all times. At least one security camera with audio capturing capabilities should be monitoring the room at all times. No less than two guards should be stationed outside of SCP-5849's containment area constantly.
Description: SCP-5849 is an entity that, to the Foundation's knowledge, consists of only a head, an elongated neck, hands, and elongated arms. No part of SCP-5849 aside from those listed have ever been observed.
SCP-5849 is very talkative and is easy to pity. It will attempt to talk to anyone around, and will always find a way to communicate, whether it be telepathically or verbally. When spoken to, SCP-5849 will begin to call the person who spoke to it "new friend". If SCP-5849 is not responded to by its "new friend" after 5 seconds, SCP-5849 will become agitated, and its attempts to communicate will become more excessive.
After 15 seconds of no response from SCP-5849's "new friend", it will become hostile. SCP-5849 will attempt to rip open the jaws1 of its "new friend". Once SCP-5849 pries open its "new friend"'s jaws, it will reach inside of their throat and pull out their vocal cords. After SCP-5849 has the vocal cords, it will tie them on its fingers and begin to strum them like guitar strings. It will play music sounding like a distorted version of the song "Mr. Lonely". When SCP-5849's song is over, it will return to a calm state.
If at any time SCP-5849's containment area is dark, it will become hostile. When in the dark, SCP-5849 cannot see or communicate in any way with humans. SCP-5849 will not move at all when it is not in light unless it hears noise. If any noise is heard by SCP-5849, it will attack the source. SCP-5849 seemingly becomes stronger while in darkness, but is easier to avoid because it has a feint glow.
When SCP-5849 can't be heard by anyone, it begins to let out a shriek at 157 decibels2. It will only cease screaming when it can be heard again by humans. SCP-5849 seems to know if it can be heard, even if it has no possible way of possessing this knowledge.
