rating: 0+x

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Keter

Special Containment Procedures: If discovered and detained by foundation agents, SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a standard holding cell, and watched by a rotation of researchers. If contained, the agents assisting with the containment are to call ahead and inform the site operator that any Foundation Personnel with the first name James are to be escorted from the site.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a 168.2-centimeter-tall Albino Male of indeterminate age, appearing to be in the range of 30. He has black hair, a rare trait among albinos, and grey eyes. His skin appears to be an alabaster grey, this is considered to be due to his blood being a dark grey color reminiscent of ink. He shows heavily obsessive traits, and in interviews is often unable to focus on questions asked by the researchers. He is co-operative with Foundation Personnel and does not show any dislike towards staff.

SCP-XXXX shows an intense obsession with individuals by the name of James. He appears to intensely hunt down individuals by the name of James with the intent to “Free” them, which is often manifested in the violent homicide of the individual using a combination knife and paintbrush that has proven to be inseparable from his person. He will then carve out a large section of flesh around the heart, and surgically cut the ventricles so that blood wells up in the cavity. He will then uncap the paintbrush on the end of the knife and proceed to eloquently write the words “Hello, James” in a perfect rendition of the Courier New font using the victim’s blood on whatever surface that is near, more commonly on walls. He will then be seen staring intently at the written words until they undergo a transformation into a different composition that has not been identified. The blood on the wall will slowly fade blacker, and as it does the blood in the body will follow suit and consequently grey the skin of the victim. SCP-XXXX will then proceed to wait near the written words with apparent desperation. When a variable amount of time usually measured between 14-60 minutes passes, the word “James” will slowly disappear from the written text, along with the comma leaving it as merely the word “Hello” written on the wall. SCP-XXXX will show immense relief at this, and then proceed to bandage the wounds of the victim. After doing so, he will leave. The victim will then show signs of enormous healing ability, and whatever wounds have been inflicted on the victim (Including previous injuries unrelated to SCP-XXXX) will completely heal over, however the individual will retain the grey skin and dark blood. The victim is presumed to be dead before this point, but researchers have never managed to completely confirm this, so it is unknown if SCP-XXXX possesses the ability to resurrect. This individual will then be marked as an Instance of SCP-XXXX-1. However, if at any point this process is interrupted, it will end, but the blood will remain in a partially changed state depending on the stage of the transformation process. Upon being interrupted, SCP-XXXX will show immense discomfort and run from the scene. Frequently, SCP-XXXX has then been arrested by local police forces and taken to be interviewed. Similarly to Foundation Personnel, SCP-XXXX does not show any resistance to the police forces, besides attempting to flee the scene. Upon being placed in a holding cell, SCP-XXXX displays an additional anomalous quality in the ability to relocate elsewhere by no conventional means, assumed to be teleportation. The foundation has not found any way to track SCP-XXXX, as geo-locational trackers and other means have appeared to lose connection, and a connection is never regained.

Upon being detained, SCP-XXXX will then be retrieved by foundation personnel and taken to a nearby facility where the proper measures have been enacted. SCP-XXXX never shows any hostility to Foundation Personnel, and on one occasion even exchanged greetings with an Agent who had previously detained him. When interviewed about simple information, SCP-XXXX seems to immense difficulty providing clear answers, often diverting from the question. However, over time a small amount has been uncovered about him. He does not appear to remember his name, often citing it as “Not important”. When asked about his childhood, he cannot give a concrete year number, but based on various questions researchers have determined that he grew up in the 1970s. He talks in a British accent typical of higher income areas such as Windsor, and as such is presumed to be at least formerly a British citizen, as no record of similar individuals has been found. SCP-XXXX will not show any anger at being interviewed, mostly just confusion as he seems to have an unreliable memory, however, he will show visible anger when the subject of people named James comes up. If asked whether his name is James, he will show more elevated anger and will verbally abuse the asker, calling them idiotic and moronic. However, if directly accused of possessing the name James he will become immensely angry. If this continues, he pulls out his knife and proceed to kill the speaker in an uncontrollable rage. He also shows an immense sensitivity to individuals named James. It has not been exactly measured the distance to which he can detect it, but it has previously been in a range of around 40 meters. Upon sensing an individual named James, SCP-XXXX will be completely focused on this individual to a psychotic degree. If hunting, he will not respond to any outside influence. If attempted to be blocked by anyone, he will violently stab or maim the individual. If he is blocked by an obstacle, he will attempt to break it with his knife. If after several minutes he has been shown to be unable to destroy the obstacle, he will show a voluntary use of his teleportation ability to get closer to the target. Upon finding the individual, he will proceed with his process, turning them into an instance of SCP-XXXX-1.

SCP-XXXX-1 instances appear to retain all memories of the previous individual, and from almost every angle are the same besides for the change in Skin and Blood color. These individuals if left alone will proceed in an ordinary fashion as they would before, admittedly with one key difference. Instances of SCP-XXXX-1 will make every attempt to change their name to something other than James, and will resent being mistaken for someone named James. Similarly to SCP-XXXX, they will show anger at being accused of being named James, but not to the same homicidal degree. These individuals will also show an automatic dislike for individuals named James, but not the same intense hatred as SCP-XXXX. Physically, SCP-XXXX-1 instances have also been shown to be more physically durable than an average human, and possessing an elevated healing factor fittingly. They will also appear to age slower. However, they are not indestructible and have died to extreme trauma and been shown to die of old age. The Foundation Ethics committee has decreed that after a preliminary examination that SCP-XXXX-1 instances are to be administered amnesiacs and allowed to return to their normal lives.
