Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX has a designated perimeter of 2.4 km2, which is to be guarded by a 2-meter high metal fence with barbed wire. The fence is to be under constant camera surveillance and has a minimum of 20 guards securing it. It is to be checked for repairs bi-weekly.

All maps are to be redesigned to not include SCP-XXXX on them. All traffic towards SCP-XXXX is to be redirected. All instances of maps that include SCP-XXXX on them or roads leading to SCP-XXXX are to be recovered and destroyed by MTF-Tau-23 (Ortelius' Eraser), a Mobile Task Force designated to destroy the evidence of the existence of physical anomalies present on maps or contain map-related anomalies, whether physical or online.

Any civilian sighted within the parameter is to be detained and questioned about their knowledge of the existence of the anomaly, and then given class-A amnestics.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a mansion located in ██████████, ████████. It is built in a Victorian-era style and has 800 m2 of official property surrounding it. It is inhabited by instances of SCP-XXXX-A, who seem to be regular humanoids, dressed in 1870s fashion and speaking in a thick, British accent. This information has been invalidated by further research. See attached documents. Its original owner and construction date are unknown. Information now retrieved, see attached document XXXX-B.

The anomalous properties of SCP-XXXX are as followed (As derived from experiments. See Experiment logs XXXX-A-1 through XXXX-A-5 for further information):

Upon entering through the front door of SCP-XXXX, the subject is greeted by a Butler dressed in fashion from approximately the late 1870s (designated SCP-XXXX-A-1). He will guide the subject to the main hall, where a situation will present: An instance of SCP-XXXX-A has been murdered, and the subject has been hired by the family of the victim to catch the murderer. After a summary of the events, the subject will be left alone to wander the mansion and solve the murder.

Each time someone enters the mansion, the setting and characters are apparently randomized. This information has been invalidated after further research. See attached documents. However, there are some consistencies:

  • The inside of the mansion and characters will always keep a Victorian Aesthetic.
  • Instances of SCP-XXXX-A will always fill certain roles: a butler, a landowner, a gardener, a maid, a cook, a writer, a brother, and a wife (in order designated as SCP-XXXX-A-1 through SCP-XXXX-A-7), even if appearances can differ between visits.
  • The instance of SCP-XXXX-A-1 is always the murderer.

During the investigation, SCP-XXXX-A-1 will try to sabotage the subject, ranging from displacing evidence, to [redacted]

If the subject tries to exit the mansion before the murder is solved, they will feel a strong urge to stay and will not leave the mansion. Once the subject presents conclusive evidence to SCP-XXXX-A-1, SCP-XXXX-A-1 will forfeit, explain why SCP-XXXX-A-1 murdered another instance of SCP-XXXX-A, and then the subject will be allowed to leave the mansion.

Discovery and containment: SCP-XXXX was first discovered after posts on social media talked about the mansion and it's anomalous properties after someone had visited it. This attracted a large number of visitors to the mansion, where ██ were found dead after successful sabotages of SCP-XXXX-A-1. After this circulated, the foundation was put into action. MTF Psi-7 (Home Improvement) successfully contained the anomaly on ██/██/████.
