SCP-XXXX

Special Containment Procedures:
SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a standard room with a simple locked security door. Guards are not deemed necessary due to the easy containment of SCP-XXXX.

The object is currently located in Site-98 for further dimensional research purposes.

Description:
SCP-XXXX is a shower cabin measuring approximately 1.5 x 3.5 x 3 meters, with a glass door on the front and a window on its side. It features a regular chrome shower head, a sitting board and 23 overhead lights. The frame of the object is painted in a glossy white tone.

It should be noted that SCP-XXXX is illuminated constantly via the overhead lights and has a functional shower head, although no electrical outlet, water supply or pump could be located.
An attempt to find an internal battery or water storage has also failed. It has yet to be analyzed, how SCP-XXXX manages to materialize water and electricity to power the lights.

When used for a couple of minutes, a thick layer of steam will form and cover both the window
and the door completely, leaving only a vague shadow of the person showering. Subjects leaving the cabin afterwards report nothing unusual, but show a sign of slight distress when being told for how long they have been in the cabin. (see Addendum XXXX-1)

SCP-XXXX is capable of distorting the time frame for any individual showering inside. This effect does not occur, if no water flow is detected by the object or the glass door is not closed. The time spent inside seems to vary massively based on the thoughts, depth of those thoughts and the mood of the subject. It is unclear though, if SCP-XXXX achieves this by creating a parallel dimension or if it just distorts the feeling of time in subjects themselves. Experiments regarding exact predictions of time distortions were conducted and their results can be found in Addendum XXXX-5.

SCP-XXXX was discovered in █████, Canada and was transported to Site-98 on 04/25/2020. The object was found in a modern 2-floor condo, built in 2015 on ██████ Street 17 and came to the foundation's attention after Field Agent ███, working undercover for the █████ General Hospital, had recieved a call from Mr. Henry Beaumont on 04/21/2020 who appeared to be confused and unnerved and claimed that he is not aging as fast as family members and friends do. The subject also mentioned that this only happens after leaving the bathroom, which lead to the investigation of his appartment and the following use of Class G amnestics. A cover-up story of a rare genetic condition was successfully created after the incident and a non-anomalous copy of the shower was installed.

Experiment XXXX-E1:
One Class D Personnel (D-9225) is ordered to take a shower for any amount of time. No further instructions were given and a guard was stationed in order to oversee the experiment. As soon as the subject leaves the cabin, this information is to be reported by the guard. Subject then must give an approximate answer regarding his time showering.
Experiment started at exactly 9:00 am.

Note:
As soon as the subject started showering, the door locked and could not be opened, although no locking mechanism was found. Applying force in any form was denied.

Result:
D-9225 left the cabin at 1:24 pm, extending the time of the experiment to 4h 24min.
Subject stated to have showered 5 minutes at most and seemed to be slightly confused when being told the time of the day.

Addendum XXXX-02
Date: 05/02/2020
The mechanism of SCP-XXXX was thoroughly studied. It was discovered that the door is directly
linked to the water and will only unlock after stopping the water flow or letting the steam disappear. Besides that, the cabin is capable of locking air-tight, which explains the quick diffusion of the steam. After the water is turned off, the cabin appears to release the steam via small vents in the ceiling. These openings are thought to close or disappear when SCP-XXXX is being used, since no sound from inside the cabin and vice versa can be heard.

Experiment XXXX-E2:
One Class D Personnel (D-9492) is given a water proof wristwatch and is now tasked to shower for exactly three minutes. The subject is required to keep an eye on the watch at all times. The elapsed time outside of the cabin is to be measured by using a stopwatch. When the subject leaves SCP-XXXX, the time difference is to be written down.
Experiment started at 10:30 am.

Result:
In contrast to expectations based on the behavior of SCP-XXXX, exactly 3 minutes had passed. No time distortion was evident.

Date: 05/05/2020
Experiment XXXX-E3:
One Class D Personnel (D-9492) is given a water proof alarm clock set to three minutes and a wristwatch, but is told to ignore both devices, until the alarm can be heard,
after which the subject must leave SCP-XXXX immediately.
Experiment started at 11:00 am.

Result:
D-9492 left SCP-XXXX on 05/07/2020 at 6:14 pm, extending the time of the experiment to a total of 55h 14min. Subject then was immediately questioned. The two watches stated different times confirming a measurable distortion.

Addendum XXXX-04

Date: 05/08/2020
Experiment XXXX-E4:
A small wireless camera is installed in SCP-XXXX and connected to a hub, enabling live feed before D-9492 enters. The subject is not informed about the camera, but the procedure of the experiment is the same as in XXXX-E3.
Experiment started at 10:20 am.

Note:
As soon as the steam covered up the glass surfaces, video feed broke down and could not be restored. The guard was instructed to give note as soon as D-9492 leaves SCP-XXXX.

Result:
The subject left the cabin on 05/14/2020 at 5:24 pm. Length of the experiment – 151h 2min (6 days). D-9492 was interviewed afterwards.

Addendum XXXX-05
Although the capabilities of SCP-XXXX have not yet been fully understood, a repeating pattern has formed. If the subject inside SCP-XXXX is fully aware of time and focused on it, no time distortion can be detected. However, the deeper the subject's thoughts and emotions are, the heavier the time distortion seems to become. At no point in time during the experiments a reversed pattern was discovered.

Summary of the experiments E1-E4
Class D Emotions and Thoughts Time inside Time outside
E1 9225 N/A ~5 min 4h 24min
E2 9492 Time focused 3 min 3 min
E3 9492 neutral
Conversation with other D-Class
3 min 55h 14min
E4 9492 confused, uneasy
Deep thoughts about the foundation
3 min 151h 2min

SCP-XXXX is potentially capable of sending subjects into the far future, if the time spent inside is long and the subject's thoughts and emotions deep enough. Permission for an experiement with more extreme time distortion results was requested. Approval pending…
