SCP-XXXX as found on Irving's table.

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a low security item storage and must be removed only for testing. Any request for testing have to be approved by a Level 3 clearance personnel.

Any tests are to be performed in two separated experiment rooms and be leaded by a researcher free of SCP-XXXX effects. Personnel are to advised that SCP-XXXX anomalous effects will likely influence the test reports, and are to be ministered Class-A amnestics after 4 hours of first initial contact. Under any circumstances personnel are to have more than 24 hours of exposure during regular testing as the lasting effects can have consequences after the conclusion of the experiement.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a pair of metal frame round glasses, displaying physical characteristics consistent with usual models produced at the first half of the twentieth century. When worn, the wearer suffers a change in their personality, manifesting evelated egoism as well as the conviction of being enlightened by greater understanding of the world, especially about human relations, however all tests conducted showed that the intelligence quotient and skills are unaltered by use of the glasses. Said effects seems to wear off once the object is removed.

After the manifestation of the primary effect all individuals that come in contact with the subject wearing SCP-XXXX start to manifest negative emotions towards them, starting by a slightly annoyance and gradually becoming more intense relative to the time spent in the wearer's presence. After a long exposure the affected will show rage and urge to kill the subject, a risk reduced as individuals affected by SCP-XXXX influence tend to avoid the wearer's presence at the first stages of the effect. Subjects do not express any discontentment about the effects manifested in others individuals towards them, and when inquired the subjects are likely to associate the effects to envy and ignorance.

While the SCP-XXXX is being worn all action conducted by the wearer and recorded by any means contribute towards SCP-XXXX cumulative effects. Not even indirect effects of their actions are excluded, providing that the individual is aware of the subject involvement and an initial contact have already been made while the subject was using the SCP-XXXX.
(OFF, nature of the action takes a role)

SCP-XXXX effects on individuals remains even after the object is removed, and seems to maintains itself stable at the subject's presence, but exposure to any records of subjects in use of the glasses still aggravate the effects.

The glasses had come to knowledge of the Foundation after a group of personnel in service of the Site-██ retrieved them of the former Senior researcher Irving D. █████'s possession. Irving was profusely hated within Site-██ by several of the lesser personnel, and frequent reclamations was received by the site's administration about his conduct, despite his propensity to remain withdraw with his work.

At a unresgistred day a personnel not identified stated that the Senior researcher was "too much of a jerk to not be something anomalous". The idea rapidly became popular within the Site-██ and and the Senior researcher was brought for a short questioning, it was then the glasses came to attention and were issued to be collected.

The following interview was conducted shortly after the events.

Interviewed: Irving D. █████

Interviewer: Dr. ██████

<Begin Log>

Dr. ██████: We are questioning you because it came to our knowledge that you have been exposing the whole staff of the Site-██ to a anomalous mind affecting object.

Irving D. █████: That really makes me look bad.
It was not that way actually, I was just using it to… You know. Keep the rabble off of my affairs.
I'm a really busy man with a lot of serious business to think about, if half of my co-workers keep addressing me to ask the most frivolous questions, like "How are you?", "What time is it?" or "Irving, are you planning to retrieve me that money I lent you six months ago?", I would have no time to finish any of my duties.

Dr. ██████: Are you serious? You haven't finished any of your duties within the Site-██ for at least 2 months now, your superiors haven't already take care of this matter only because none of them was willing to talk to you.

[Short argument redacted for relevance]

Dr. ██████: (Visually upset) Enough. What was the circumstances that you have obtained the glasses?

Irving D. █████: I personally ordered them from a friend of mine expert in antiquities. At first I wasn't aware of its characteristics but it suited me just fine.

Dr. ██████: You are well aware of the regulations for foreigners objects within the site.
A very serious infraction was committed by you for not submitting this object to analysis. Are you aware of the consequences that your actions could have caused to Site-██'s security?

Irving D. █████: Yes, I was, but after think about it I weighted the pros and cons, then I came to the conclusion that it couldn't be so bad. They are very practical.

<End Log>

Closing Statement: Dr. ██████ ceased the interview, he showed clear signs of distressed and ignored most of the scripted questions. Although unknown his erratic behaviour was likely due to influence of SCP-XXXX effects.

Note A: The Senior researcher was later transferred to further interrogatory about his actions. He was then demoted of his position and reassigned.

Note B: The civilian mentioned by the former Senior researcher was found to not have any knowledge about the glasses' anomalous properties, however the records of that product were missing of her collection.

Addendum XXXX-A: Due to the rather suspicious position of the item within the Site-██ as well as apparently unexplained origin of the item, further investigation is to be conducted.

Addendum XXXX-B: We will need several more tests before we can fully understand this object. The mind affecting abilities of it are very subtle and not easily distinguished from natural human reactions.
Proper understanding and indentification of objects of this nature should be of priority, even more now we have found one so further within the structure of Site-██. - Dr. ██████
