Taco Bell.

Both opened, eyes sweeping over the medical equipment in the room. In the breach, she'd been in the middle of a meeting with Dr. Clef, Dr. Bright, and Glass on the deployment of SCP-073 within thier ranks. No longer able to register the world around her, she walked numbly towards the first hall she saw. Next, she was being carried off with a silly broken arm. They'd transferred her to a nearby site — via evacuation helicopter— just before things got real ugly. She, Dr. Sophia Light has yet to hear the news or even be informed on the outcome of the event. Hours, after she'd awoken, a man entered the infirmary, a face she recognized.

"Vaux…"Dr. Light sighed gratefully," thank god you made it."

"6 days ago."He moved to look closer at the injury." How's the wrist? I at least see that the bone isn't poking out"

Dr. Light Scoffed," emergency surgery barely seemed worth it. The amount of anesthesia they use is ridiculous."

"You're just gonna have to stop twirling your pen."Dr. Light scoots her heavy legs to the edge of the bed. Vaux lifted her available arm around his shoulders and helped her down off," As for you ticks, I've sent in a prescription order to up the dosage."

Dr. Light fixed the sling straps, easing the compression. "Am I getting worse?"

"You had breakthrough symptoms."

Dr. Light wormed against the cast."I can't use my right side pockets anymore. Could you get my phone, I need to make a call."

"It's in the patient's locker, I'll go get it."

"Amirite: Mineral from which you can extract true statements for oracle machines of any degree

"Actually, we have something you need to see to believe, "Glass stated."Come down to the conference room 67B on the left of the auditorium."

Dr. Light slid her keycard through the scanner and the door to the U Wing opened with a beep and a click. The lights ticked on; the area was relatively quiet although the sound of a printer and talking could be heard in the distance. Nobody was there. Why'd they ask her to meet if they weren't going to show up? "Oh, Light a bit late."Cimmerian says, stepping in," We moved to the main auditorium adjacent to the exhibition hall."

"What why do we have— Why do we need an auditorium?"

"The recent breach was very large scale."He explains," There's also word that Alpha-9 may have been involved and that it exists. People want answers. A lot of people want answers."

As she enters the darkened auditorium she moves along the empty space around the setup rows of chairs. As she strode close to the walls, Dr. Light wasn't expecting this many people. Not that she was afraid of all the attention, but there had to be 50 plus people.

"…A series of armed clashes resulted in mass casualties both among foundation personnel and mobile task force agents…"

"Why would they send an entire army and who?"

She moved and picked up a mic from the podium, taking center stage in the room causing the voices to descend into whispers. The doctor could feel the elephant in the room grow but still didn't know what it was about. Now angry voices wove in and out of the crowd's jeering and the ringing of her ears. Why was she to blame?

"Hello, everyone." she greeted but was only met with silence."As you know there have been rumors of Alpha-9s involvement in the recent breach. I as the leading

"So… they came for Alpha-9."A male researcher with a striped tie brought up," In other words, If your unit didn't exist, they wouldn't have even come in the first place!"

"How can you sleep at night?! Knowing that your "resurrecting" a fallen project that killed so many people!" female researcher protests loud and clear.

"Everyone calm down! Please!"Dr. Light cries calmly, "Our project is aimed at the protection of the foundation it's self. I'm sure when what we are trying to achieve is done right, we may even be celebrated!"

"No one will celebrate it because so many people have died and so many have been injured," a scientist countered."Has anyone ever even met success in what you hope to do?"

"It's that failure that spurs us on to achieve what so many people have failed to!"Light says.

"So What?"The man with the striped tie spoke up again," We let you continue to build your force on the hill of dead carcasses? I'm sorry there is too much risk. It's dangerous, we know it, the whole world knows it, and that is why they want to see you eliminated."Mumbles of agreement fill the room and the man with the striped tie expresses anew, "If we want to prevent another incident anything like this, Alpha-9 must be disbanded."

"Woah Woah Woah wait a minute!"Clef stepped in and got on the mic, "Let's not jump to any conclusions—"

"And don't think that just because several-elite are on your side that it makes this any different!"

It was then a redhead stood up in the room on her chair, " Enough! Behold the power of my stand!" she coughed to clear her throat and took the megaphone, glancing around the crowd, "FUCK YALL LEAVE THEM ALONE! COWARDS!"A large cardboard sign made of a pizza box was immediately erected in the air that said,"Alpha-9 and did nothing wrong"

Dr. Light squints, extremely confused."Who… in the hell is that?"

Dr. Rose played the Giorno theme on her android and sang along.

A female researcher facepalmed."Who let her in here!?"

"Wasn't she banned from conferences?"Another scientist said.

It was then that the nuisance began hopping with a crouched leg while taking her other straightened leg and swinging it around. She breakdances her way through stages, similar to a fighting game, in order to prove her prowess on the dance floor. Coming to a stop she stood in a majestic pose in the light of the projector, waving her uplifted arm.

She snatches the mic from Clef, and whispers, "Follow my lead.." next she says speaks:

"Paradoxically enough, their sense of failure and disappointment may be the best evidence of thier success. After all, how can one exist without the other? There will be victories and defeats, but we must have confidence that we will prevail. As this dark we hide in is made brighter by the light we protect! I can't handle the chance that I might or might not have hope," she says with a resolute voice."And I know that this is why you all have fear, but this isn't how things have to be! we can change our world to one with more humanity, kindness, and peace. There's is good inside everyone but they must find it. You can change the life of another for the better. You can probably think of many more. Many of the people you encounter can change your life."

"Wishful thinking."The man in tie said with his arms crossed," What about the use of anomalies?"

Dr. Rose laughed; happiness, and hop bubble within her. Dr. Light understood what she was doing, being inspirational — she could do that. The female doctor stepped forward, "Using an ancient weapon of war is — within reason — not within reason." Shaking her head, she walked once around the room, trying to determine what else needed to be said." As a result, we've spent a lot of time thinking about how we must have faith in each other, in our institutions, we must have hope that tomorrow will be better, and to honor those before us. Who has helped change the moral of this story, making it a parable about hope for humanity – and about how crowds can play a role for good. We must move forward."

"And should you fail?"

"Then… I go down with it!" Sophia Light answers confidently.

Dr. Cimmerian smiles."Sure… I'm willing to take the fall if this all goes to hell."

Dr. Clef shrugged, not knowing what to say.

Dr. Glass braced himself and marched forward," I support Alpha-9! We need to get this right before it's too late!"

Dr. Light nodded in agreement, "That is why we will not only succeed but win, because of what Alpha-9 is, hope for a new age."

Dr. Rose still seemed energetic and optimistic. Dr. Light turned her head away like a cat and stared back at the audience. Who was either convinced or saw the futility of the conversation, because they dropped the subject.

"Alright, we get it, your passionate. Can we leave now?"

"Exits are to your left."Clef directed.

The crowd had dispersed and in it Dr. Cimmerian spotted Dr. Rose about to leave.

"Where is she…?"

"Hey… what the hell!?" Dr. Light maneuvered through the crowd trying to stop her."Wait hey!" But she was already gone — the auditorium emptied."Crap! I wanted to say thank you… at least."

"She doesn't understand social cues." said Dr. Glass,"

Dr. Rose entered her cell, to the sight of her sister, "Come," she said, "have some tea." They carried their glasses to the overstuffed sofa and sat facing each other.

"What did you do today?"

"I interrupted a conference."Dr. Rose told them," I was eating lunch when all these people came into the auditorium. They were all giving this lady a hard time. So I stepped in."

Enoch took a sip of his tea, still without a break from the rapid-fire typing. "What was it about?"

"Some people are making a new task force using anomalies. What do you guys think?"

"Do they know what they are doing?"Enoch without looking up or pausing in his typing issued directions. "They'll fail if they don't."

"That was in the discussion!" Dr. Rose changed the channel," But it sounds like they have a handle on things."

Enoch replied skeptically."It's preposterous, after what happened last time."

"I find the prospect of handling anomalies intriguing."Said Dr. Thorne."However, in a combat sense? Whatever led them to make that judgment?"

Dr. Rose looked up in thought."Huh… I don't know, actually."

Enoch gets involved once again."How did you ever make it this far in life?" he said shaking his head," Learn more about a cause before you support it."

"Okay. I don't even think I'll be doing that. I got my own work to worry about, that's hard enough…"

That following morning, the three of them were relaxing in the family room, when the telephone rang.

Dr. Rose answers, "What do you want? I'm busy doing nothing!"
___

Rows of computers and monitors lined the room."Dr. Rose, I presume?"

"Yeah? Who dis?"

"I am Agent Wagner of Site-17. We request the use of your talents. In a project, we call Alpha-9."

"Oh yeah? Well what are you wearing "Agent Wagner"

"Khakis? Listen, that's not the point. The point is we need someone like you."

Dr. Rose pulled her skirt out of her but crack, "Nah, I pass."

"Why is that?"

"Cause I don't feel like it okay! Gosh!"

"Are you", He said briefly, "Are you mimicking Napoleon Dynamite?"

"No! Leave me alone!"

"I will when you—"

Dr. Roses's voice turns squeaky and mocks him." bleh-bleh-bleh. I'm Agent Wagner and I'm a big poopy pant's!"

"Now you're just being childish," and how do you deal with a child? Food of course. With that thought, he changed his offer."We have…"He sighs to himself," We have Taco Bell."

"Fuck yeah! Sign me up!"
