About the EDR
Inspired by the Underground Railroad, the EDR functioned as a loosely held together anomaly trafficking network. As the Foundation is dedicated to containing and preserving anomalies, the Railroad is dedicated to transportation and dealing in anomalous trading. They are the black market of the anomalous world. Their methods involve anomalies with "pocket dimension" functions, to create temporary tunnels for fast transportation and nearly untraceable movement.
Extra-Dimensional Railroad stories usually are qualified as Tales, with a hint of actual narrative and literature feel to them.
Author's Guidelines
- All pages added to the GOI must be named using the following format:
- Any supplementary documents must be named: "edr-libraryentry" followed by the individual page name. (example: edr-libraryentry-westvirginiaincident)
- Any personnel files must be named: "edr-profile" followed by the individual page name. (example: edr-profile-anthonysmith)
- Any tales must be named: "edr-librarytale" followed by the individual page name (example: edr-librarytale-countryroads)
- Please read through at least half of the library entry tagged documents before writing for this GOI. Feel free to contribute to said documents, but if enough users find it insufficient, it may be remove to make room for a more acceptable addition.
- Please read through all profile tagged documents before using those characters in your stories. Feel free to create new characters if you wish.
- Bear in mind the format of EDR articles and documents is much different than SCP and other GOI style articles, and usually will lack a professional feel, as per the style of the EDR's function in general. As it says above, the EDR is loosely held together, with many sections acting independently, with the OL acting only in the cases of emergency.

EDR Levels of Authority
Leader
Coordinates and organizes the lower levels, along with acting as the diplomatic postition between other GOIs.
- Last known appointed Leader: "Terry", The Founder. Death occurred in 1905.
Conductors
The ones that control the anomalies. EDR uses these personnel to control anomalies, and allow transportation.
- Control Group: Maintaining and stabilizing anomalies.
Operators
The Railroad's fallback plan with controlling anomalies, in case of LOC.
- Negotiators: EDR members tasked with peaceful communication with sentient anomalies, and the compromising of non-sentient ones.
- Pilots: Main hostile force behind negotiations. Designed to permanently destroy anomalies with reality bending and dimensional capabilities.
The Chaos Insurgency
The Railroad's main communication and provider. They are known to have been in contact with The Insurgency for the last ~44 years. The Insurgency currently has no records of relations with The Railroad.
Resources: No information on provided resources.
Action: No action taken unless otherwise notified. Due to untraceable movement by The Railroad, attempting to track and capture any evidence of communication with The Insurgency have proven unsuccessful.
The Foundation
To The Railroad, the Foundation is nothing other than a potential customer. The Foundation has not purchased anomalies from The Railroad, and all personnel are prohibited from doing so.

Anderson Robotics
The EDR has small relation to Anderson Robotics, and has assisted Anderson Robotics with finance and ethics in the past, as well as providing anomalies capable of containment.

The Seventh Occult War
An occult war, coinciding with the Second World War, triggered by an attempt by the SS Ahnenerbe and the Thule-Gesselschaft to take advantage of the destruction of LTE-0913-Ex-Machina to complete the Rite of Solomon. The events of this war led to the founding of the Global Occult Coalition as a safeguard against further such actions by rogue organizations.
McCarthy-Truman UFO Scandal of 1951
An illegal attempt to militarize parathreat technology by the United States Government leads to the deaths of the first GOC Strike Team (0001 "Alpha"), and the straining of relations between the Coalition and the U.S. Government.
The Cornwall Incident (199█)
A cult based around KTE-9927-Black ("The Goddess") attempts to complete an illegal magical working. Following a timeline restructuring, GOC Covert Operative "Ukelele" successfully liquidates KTE-9927-Black but suffers severe injuries as a result. Marks the only time in GOC history that Procedure Pizzicato has been implemented (albeit unsuccessfully).

PERSONNEL DIRECTORY
A few tips for adding to EDR characters:
Names
- EDR are usually identified by aliases that appear to be their real name, with only high ranking operatives receiving actual code names.
- When picking a code name, try to pick a name that isn't overly "cool" sounding, that doesn't sound like a video game handle. This page has some examples of actual fighter pilot call signs and the stories behind them. Note that few of these stories are particularly flattering to the recipient.
- Examples: "Bullfrog" is named because he's a big, squat, short fellow with a broad mouth. "Skunkboy" is named after an incident during his time in the Marines when he failed a stalking test because of a bout of flatulence.
Serial Numbers
- GOC operatives get an eight-digit serial number in the following format: ********/****. The first eight digits is a unique individual identifier. The last three (or four) digits indicates which part of the GOC they serve in (their service code or unit identifier).
- Most GOC staff have a three digit Service Code. Four digit Service Codes are limited to Strike operatives.
- Service codes use both numbers and letters as digits. There are 34 possibilties (0 through 9 and A-Z, excluding I and O) for each digit, although letters are less common than numbers.
- The first digit of the Service Code is always the region in which you serve, with the exception of "7," which represents a PHYSICS Division Assessment team.
- The last two digits of the Service Code represent your tasking (x31, for instance, represents serving in the Regional Director's office).
- There is no official list of region or service codes, so that authors and creators can have maximum freedom to make them up as needed.
Unit Identifiers
- PHYSICS Division field operatives eschew Service Codes and use their unit identifier instead.
- Assessment Teams use a three-digit unit identifier starting with 7. Strike teams use a four-digit identifier.
- There is no official list of unit identifiers, but try not to use one that is already being used by an established unit.
Creating an Assessment or Strike Team
- Assessment/Strike Teams are identified in three ways.
- Unit Heraldry (a unique symbol or coat of arms identifying the unit). Although not required, Assessment Teams usually use a cartouche (oval) shape for their heraldry, while Strike Teams use a heater (shield shape).
- A three or four digit Unit Identifier number (three digits starting with 7 for Assessment, four digits for Strike).
- Strike Teams usually also have a unit motto or slogan. Assessment Teams usually don't bother.
OL Appointed "Terry"
"Terry" is the unconfirmed name of the first and last leader of the EDR. They are known to be a female individual of undetermined age or ethnicity.
OL Appointed Failsafe "Harry"
