Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXX is to be contained at Site-██ in a 10mx10mx10m room with no access points. The walls of the container must be at least 10cm thick and made of pure concrete.
No metal object of any size and weight is permitted within 20m of SCP-XXX containment unit, personell assigned to SCP-XXX are to follow a strict low iron diet and be armed exclusively with wooden batons and ceramic knifes. When making repairs to SCP-XXX containment unit, personell must strictly use non metal tools.
Monitoring of SCP-XXX's activity is carried out via magnetic sensors positioned around the container at a distance of 22m.
Description: SCP-XXX is a black sphere of approximately 1m in diameter.
When in his "inactive" state, SCP-XXX remaines motionless, fixed exactly 1m above the ground. In this state any interaction seems harmless, although some subjects state to have expirienced symptoms of nausea, slight fever, imbalance and auditory distress.
When any metal object is positioned within 20m of SCP-XXX, this will enter its "active" state. In this state SCP-XXX will double its size and its texture will change to one similar to boiling water. Any object, even if not containing traces of metal, prensent in its activation zone will start hovering towards SCP-XXX at approximately 9,81m/s^2 (meters per second squared), when the object reaches SCP-XXX, it will disappear leaving no trace of any kind. SCP-XXX will remain in this state as long as any metal object is present in its activation zone:
- If present metal objects are "absorbed" by SCP-XXX, it will enter its "docile" state. In this state SCP-XXX will decrease in size to 20cm in diameter and it will not enter is "inactive" state for a period of time between 10 and 30 minutes (time seems to vary depending on the size and weight of the metal object absorbed, more tests would be required to have confirmation). In this state further addition of metal objects seem to have no effect on SCP-XXX.
- If present metal objects are removed by force from the activation zone, SCP-XXX will enter its "agitated" state. In this state SCP-XXX will start moving rapidly in every direction without a clear pattern, any object coming into contact with SCP-XXX during this state will recieve severe structural damage. This state can last between 1 hour and 7 days.
