Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: Instances are to be kept within steel cages measuring 1m by 1m by 1m within a room with walls of a density no less than 2,000 kg/m3. Instances that have the same selected belief will be kept within the same room and in separate cages. For each room of SCP-XXXX instances, a D class personnel designated as a “prophet” will be reserved. Check Instance Specification Documents for the necessary beliefs the "prophet" must speak on. A "prophet" should be a strong believer of the topic they speak one, and be an adequate public speaker. Once a week, the “prophet” will enter the containment chambers with three other D class personnel and proselytize the selected belief for no less than one hour. D class personnel can hear no more than two speeches from the “prophet”. It should be noted that these personnel are likely to be converted to the selected belief after even a single speech with the “prophet”. Depending on the nature of the selected belief, termination may be required.

Instances should be checked bi-weekly for signs of malnutrition. If instances appear malnourished, replace your "prophet" with a more fervent believer and superior public speaker.

MTF Birdwatchers should monitor for areas that convert suddenly to a new ideology whether it be social, political or religious in nature. During an investigation, personnel will be equipped with ultra violet goggles, and are advised to shut off all audio communications outside private Foundation network.

Description: SCP-XXXX has been designated the Latin name Corvus//1 // Oratoria. Instances are only visible on the ultraviolet spectrum, and are incorporeal to any object with a density less than 2,000 kg/m^3. Generally instances have a wingspan of 3 inches and a total length of 10 inches from feet to beak. Instances are attracted to cities and other areas of dense human habitation.

Whether their anomalous properties developed naturally or artificially, and the possibility of other species of anomalous animals, is currently being investigated.

SCP-XXXX derives sustenance through human ideological conversion. Individual instances acquire a brand shortly after birth, aligning them with a particular idea. This concept has been known to be social, political and religious in nature.

SCP-XXXX causes persons aligned with its belief to show heightened commitment to its tenets, and nonbelievers to show greater reception to conversion. This effect increases with proximity5 and the presence of multiple entities. Those exposed to SCP-XXXX consistently report hearing voices that speak in favor of the instance's belief. These voices have been described as coming from their higher self, their conscience, and the divine.

SCP-XXXX was first discovered during a raid in Erdent, Mongolia against a Sarkic cult that rose in a traditionally Buddhist area. Members of the task force, happened to be equipped to view SCP-XXXX in anticipation of <DATA REDACTED>. Further investigation revealed that SCP-XXXX were not a construct of Sarkicism but have developed alongside humanity since the nineteenth century, the rise of Christianity, the beginning of human civilization. An anomalous crow skeleton found in Dorvenshire, Kenya suggests that instances have been evolving alongside humans since the time of homo erectus2. Current speculation holds that SCP-XXXX evolved with humanity.

The possibility of using SCP-XXXX to bend human loyalty towards the Foundation in case of Black Masquerade event, or to disrupt the loyalties of other GOIs are being investigated.

The rapid spread of Sarkicism through Mongolia suggests that Sarkic priests actively use SCP-XXXX.
