NOTE TO SELF

What to fix/revise?

• The Containment Procedures, it feels bland, looks bland and sounds bland
• The Description, doesn't feel like I explained a whole lot about the anomaly
• The Test Logs, it needs to have meaning.

The Fix: Make it so that the test logs are the first test logs on SCP-XXXX, like when they discovered it, they tested it and that's the test logs.

• The Audio Recording, it feels… not like a real conversation.

SCP-XXXX, when it was first discovered

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained in a standard item containment cell located in Site-APOLLO. The containment cell is fitted with a security camera in order to monitor SCP-XXXX for any malicious activities with Foundation staff.

Testing with SCP-XXXX is allowed as long as permission is approved by Site Director James Matthew. Testing with SCP-XXXX is restricted to only once a month, All items recovered from SCP-XXXX should either be stored in Storage room C5 or incinerated.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a large wooden box with the words “Benjamin” painted in the front side of the box. If an individual opens SCP-XXXX then the following will happen if the requirements are met:

• If the individual has a item they favorited and opens the lid of SCP-XXXX then SCP-XXXX will produce a copy of the individual's favorited item.
• If the individual has no favorited item and then opens the lid of SCP-XXXX then the inside of SCP-XXXX will be empty.
• If multiple individuals open the lid of SCP-XXXX then the items will be stitched together by an unknown thread.
• If the individual has multiple favorited items and opens the lid of SCP-XXXX then SCP-XXXX will produce multiple items the person favorited.

SCP-XXXX can not produce items larger than it's size. Trying to place any item inside of SCP-XXXX and closing will result in the item disappearing once opening the lid again. SCP-XXXX is capable of speech although this only happens once every two months and the only phrase SCP-XXXX is able to mimic is "I am Benjamin".¹

Addendum XXXX.1: Discovery

SCP-XXXX was discovered on 10/21/2019, when several media outlets reported about a lost paranormal box found in a New York City playground. Foundation agents later recovered SCP-XXXX in 10/25/2019. After recovering SCP-XXXX, All public information mentioning SCP-XXXX were either edited or destroyed by The Disinformation Bureau and Non-Foundation personnel who knew about SCP-XXXX were administered Class-C amnestics.

SCP-XXXX was later placed in a temporary containment cell for research before being transferred into its own containment cell.

Addendum XXXX.2: First Test Logs

After being transferred into its own containment cell, Testing SCP-XXXX with 10 Class-D was approved by Site Director James Matthew.

Reason: D-3298 explained that he used to live in the streets of South Africa and the only toys he had was a brick and a broomstick he found in the streets of Cape town.

Recovered Item: A doll wearing a pink dress and skirt with what seems to be an elephant trunk stitched to the nose of the said doll
Reason: D-2505 explained that she was brought to the hospital due to the flu when she was 16 and was given the doll as a gift from her young sister. D-1212 explained the trunk belonged to a elephant plushie he favorited when he was young.

Recovered Item: A drone and the controller for said drone
Reason: D-6407 said that he loved playing with that drone with his family when he was 10.

Recovered Item: RC car and a hot wheels car
Reason: D-6612 stated the toys were given to her as a present during Christmas. She loved playing with those toys for hours and hours with her mother.

Reason: D-8865 explained that he had no favorite toy as he grew up not having any toys.

Recovered Item: A thomas the tank engine wooden railway figure
Reason: D-3519 explained that it was given to her by a man when she was poor and living in the streets during the year 1995.

Reason: D-6140 explained that it was given to him as a gift during his 12th birthday and since then started playing with the other kids in the neighborhood.

Dear Friends and Family,

As you have known by now, my son Benjamin has died from the flu. I am saying this to you so we can have a funeral at (ERASED). I would gladly accept any suggestions on how the funeral will go so that Benjamins body can be properly buried. I will be taking his box of toys into the funeral with his favorite toys in it so Benjamin can be happy one last time. The funeral will be starting at 11 am, so be sure not be late.

Addendum XXXX.4: Audio Recording

Two days after Foundation personnel recovered the sticky note under SCP-XXXX, Multiple site personnel reported hearing a voice that sounded like a young child. After investigating, Site-APOLLO security personnel were led to SCP-XXXX containment cell, where they found the unconscious body of Dr. Arthur on the ground and the cameras disabled due to an unknown interference. A audio recording was also found in Dr. Arthur's phone, examination of the audio recording reveals that the voice coming from SCP-XXXX was having a conversation with Dr. Arthur.

Below is a transcript of the recorded conversation between Dr. Arthur and the voice coming from SCP-XXXX.

Dr. Arthur: That would be you, that is your classification. Do you have anything wrong with it?

SCP-XXXX: No, but remember that my name is benjamin.

Dr. Arthur: Affirmative, So why are you speaking right now SCP-XXXX?

SCP-XXXX: I heard you have recovered a note in your hands,

Dr. Arthur: You mean this note?

Sounds of shuffling of paper can be heard

SCP-XXXX: Yes the note that you have in your hands, I can't see it but I can hear, that note… It's a lie.

Dr. Arthur: Why is this note a lie SCP-XXXX.

SCP-XXXX: My mother, she lied about me dying of the flu. It's a lie, She poisoned my milk and my father, he told lies to the doctors and other family members.

Dr. Arthur: How did he exactly lie to the doctors, like surely they would have inspected the body right?

SCP-XXXX: THEY DIDN'T!

A loud bang can be heard followed by cries of an 8-year old boy

Dr. Arthur: Calm down SCP-XXXX, what did your father do?

SCP-XXXX: He told the doctors that there is no need to do an autopsy report! And the doctors, THEY BELIEVED HIM!

Another loud bang is heard

SCP-XXXX: They believed him because he was the richest man in the neighbourhood, They thought he knew everything and that is why they believed him.

Dr. Arthur: Do you know why your mother killed you SCP-XXXX?

SCP-XXXX: No, I do not know, I never knew why my mother killed me or why my father told lies to the doctors.

Dr. Arthur: SCP-XXXX, How did you know all of this stuff happening, I thought you died?

SCP-XXXX: I was a ghost at the time, I then woke up in this box and I can't see anything.

Dr. Arthur: SCP-XXXX, Who is your mother and father?

SCP-XXXX: I do not know, but I did have a brother, and that was……you

Dr. Arthur: What-

A loud thud can be heard, this is believed to be Dr. Arthur falling to the ground and becoming unconscious

AFTERWORD: After this conversation, SCP-XXXX was capable of speech but this only included the phrase "I am Benjamin". Dr Arthur was able to recover but has no recollection of the conversation he had with SCP-XXXX.
