Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Keter

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained in its original containment cell, a 8 m x 8 m x 10 m airtight, lead-lined concrete cube. SCP-XXXX can under no circumstance be removed or transported from its original discovery location at Site ██ (see Appendum XXXX.1.) Guards must be presently watching the cell 24/7, failure to do so will lead to the immediate demotion to all personnel not present. Guards must also inspect the containment cell every 24 hours, failure to do so will also lead to the punishment stated above. Under no circumstance is anyone allowed in the testing room unless given authorization by an employee with level 5 clearance and higher. The use of D-class personnel for testing is permitted Not permitted (see Incident 24-b.) In the event of a breach see Appendum XXXX.2.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a 1.9 meter tall burnt human corpse in the remains of a Soviet-era hazmat suit. The body structure of SCP-XXXX is made entirely out of radiation which makes it almost completely translucent and will cause it to not be able to appear in any photos or videos taken of it. SCP-XXXX also cannot physically interact with non-living objects (walls, doors, tables, etc.) Even though SCP-XXXX seems to be extremely frail and burnt, SCP-XXXX can still walk, run, and stand by using methods that have yet to be explained by Dr. ████████.

SCP-XXXX has the ability to emit a large aura of radiation, which depending on the size of the area, can slowly expand to be as large as the area itself. This factor can lead to the potential negative effects that it can cause to the world if unconfined. All living organisms in this field of radiation emitted from SCP-XXXX will immediately die from large amounts of radiation poisoning. Due to this factor transportation of SCP-XXXX is strongly unadvised. Attempts cannot be made for the destruction of SCP-XXXX due to the fear that by doing so it will destroy its containment cell in the process, causing a possible breach. The destruction of SCP-XXXX is highly unadvised.

SCP-XXXX displays no form of intelligence, and has been seen to rely on pure instinct. It’s behavior has been shown to be extremely aggressive to any living thing near it (The reason for this is still unknown), and will immediately attempt to kill any living organism nearby. (Preferable animals and people.) SCP-XXXX does not physically harm individuals, but will instead try to kill it’s victims with the radiation it emits. This has been observed by Dr. ████████ during tests with SCP-XXXX while using D-class personnel (No longer permitted see Incident 24-b.)

Addendum XXXX.1: Discovery

SCP-XXXX was discovered January ██, 19██ By Alpha team while investigating a call received by a town in northern Russia located approximately ██ west of an abandoned nuclear plant. The residents then reported to Alpha team where SCP-XXXX was thought to be residing, and claimed that it watches them through the windows of the abandoned plant. SCP-XXXX was found in 8 m x 8 m x 10 m concrete room, and plans to transport SCP-XXXX to a nearby Containment Facility were created. Once the effects of SCP-XXXX were discovered however, measures were taken to keep the room intact. This led to the creation of Site ██ heavy maintenance was made to insure that the risk of a containment breach would be impossible for SCP-XXXX. (Failure resulted in Incident 24-b.

Addendum XXXX.2: Breach Protocols

The list of Procedures in the case of a breach caused by SCP-XXXX are listed below:

  • Any personnel with higher than D-class clearance in the vicinity of the containment cell are recommended to equip the nearest hazmat suit.
  • All Alpha team members with hazmat suits must re-contain SCP-XXXX and other potential SCP’s that may have also broken containment before the sites proximity mines go off burying Site ██ from the outside world (these mines are to replace all nuclear warheads at site ██, due to the warheads likely ineffectiveness towards SCP-XXXX.)
  • Once re-contained all personnel with lower than level 4 clearance must evacuate for decontamination.
  • Site ██ must be decontaminated by all level 4 cleaning crew, before the site is used again.
  • All cleaning crews must go through the decontamination process before returning to work.
  • Research must be done on SCP-XXXX in order to prevent such breaches from occurring.
  • In the case that SCP-XXXX manages to escape Site ██, retrieval of SCP-XXXX is of the upmost importance as declared by the 05 Council. Failure to contain SCP-XXXX will lead to the likely eradication of all life on Earth.

Incident 24-b: We weren’t prepared…

October ██, 19██ SCP-XXXX breached containment after Dr. ████████ permitted D-198 to enter the containment room. SCP-XXXX proceeded to act in it’s usual aggressive behavior, all containment devices were working properly. After the tests were completed however unforeseen electrical malfunctions all over site ██ resulted in the cell door refusing to close. 3 minutes after exposure to the rest of Site ██, SCP-XXXX was found exiting through the open cell entrance. By the time Alpha team managed to equip themselves to deal with the situation, approximately ██ on-site researchers died of exposure. The hazmat suits proved to be nearly ineffective as they would only protect personnel from SCP-XXXX’s effects for about 4-6 minutes before eventual death. All proximity mines in Site ██ failed to activate a countdown sequence due to the same malfunction (more research required source of malfunction was found to be emanating from Site 24 and will be dealt with immediately.) By the time the breach was sealed approximately ██% of all human life in Site ██ died. The site itself was fully contaminated and took about ██ month’s of thorough decontamination. leading to the death of ██ more Foundation employees. Research is being done in order to prevent breaches like this from occurring in the future.
