Item #: SCP-5179
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: As of ██/██/201█, SCP-5179's initial containment procedures now include SCP-5179-A, known before as Dr. [REDACTED], due to a change in the anomalous behaviour of the entity.
Item SCP-5179 is to be contained in a locked room in Site 83 and protected by two (2) guards at all times. Entry to the entity's room is only granted to Level 3 Personnel, which must be accompanied by a designated Class-D subject with known musical talents. SCP-5179-A is to be contained within Site 83 but is permitted to continue its job as a researcher, albeit under surveillance. Although SCP-5179-A can leave the establishment, it is not allowed to ever locate and take SCP-5179. If SCP-5179-A evades security measures, Containment Procedure G-A is to be carried out by Researcher ████ and a team of no less than four (4) guards:
- Locate SCP-5179-A. SCP-5179 must be acquired and given to Researcher ████.
- The song [REDACTED] must be played and successfully heard by SCP-5179-A. This will make the entity [REDACTED]
- SCP-5179 must be then secured within an air-tight sealed 1x2x1 cement box and delivered back to its containment. SCP-5179-A will be transported back to its apartment by a designated chauffer and carefully be put in bed.
Description: SCP-5179 is a seemingly normal classical Spanish guitar with the ability to solidify sound waves when it is played by a musically talented individual, regardless of race, gender or age, found in [REDACTED], Spain. If played by a non-talented individual, the entity creates no sound. When played by a talented individual, lines in a zig-zag pattern of a light grey to dark grey unknown material (hypothesized to be solid music) appear around the player, extending up to 5 meters before falling to the floor. After several tests, Class-D Personnel and researchers reported blockage of their ear canals, which were later discovered to have been caused by SCP-5179 solidifying sound waves inside their organism. SCP-5179's effects depend on time lapses an individual is exposed to, as shown by Dr. [REDACTED]' tests:
