Item #: SCP-4258
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4258 is to be kept in a room away from any sources of life and must always be monitored by appropriate personnel. Any contact with SCP-4258 will result in immediate termination and disposal.
Description: SCP-4258 is a regularly sized metallic hourglass object. It cannot be destroyed, and its glass cannot be broken under any circumstance. Attempts to break it will always fail, no matter what object is used against it. It is speculated that SCP-4258 can survive temperatures hotter than the surface of the sun.
Once turned, SCP-4258 begins to slow down time for the subject interacting with it, turning seconds into thousands of years. Any outside observer will not experience SCP-4258's effects, as they are only inflicted on subjects interacting with it.
When SCP-4258's contents finish pouring into itself, time will resume moving at regular speeds. Every subject that has interacted with SCP-4258 is now in a state of mental decay and total insanity.
The first instance of SCP-4258 was spotted in a Walmart in Seattle, WA when a mother of 2 bought SCP-4258 as a piece of decoration for her home. Her children reported that their mother was "blankly staring at the wall" for a full hour after interacting with SCP-4258 before collapsing into a state of insanity.
Further experiments have been conducted on SCP-4258, all yielding the same result. The subjects that have interacted with SCP-4258 have all fallen into a state of delirium and have become aggressive, some even trying to attack security personnel before ultimately ending their own life.
At the current time, every subject that has interacted with SCP-4258 has been terminated as a result of either self harm or forceful termination.
