Special Containment Procedures:

SCP-XXXX is to be kept in an 8m by 8m airtight steel cube suspended within a second, larger cube, of same material. The two cubes should be separated by a minimum of 1m and said gap completely filled with iron fillings¹. They will be connected via airlock corridor (3m wide) for entry into the chamber and support struts suspending the centre cube. These should be randomly spaced while maintaining structural integrity.

The primary containment unit should be built within a 20m by 20m room at least 300m below ground level. It should be constructed of concrete and reinforced steel rebar with the inner wall, floor and ceiling covered in an iron grill. The room should be kept above 700 lux at all times as well as monitored by EMR and infrared sensors. The central cube should be maintained at 200 lux by standard LED bulbs behind steel mesh. Secondary variable light sources capable of increasing luminance within the cube up to 700 lux should also be provided; for use during feeding, maintenance, testing or in the event of containment breach.

While SCP-XXXX-1 is to be considered extremely dangerous, it can be kept docile with consistent deliveries of assorted live animals. These deliveries should supervised at all times by at least two (2) level 2 researchers and carried out by two (2) D-class personnel.

+ Feeding procedure for SCP-XXXX-1 (Obsolete)

Observing from an exterior room with a direct visual and two way audio link the researchers should carry out the procedure and instruct the D-class as follows:

1. One D-class (D-I) must enter the secondary containment room and inspect the primary containment module for signs of damage.
2. A researcher open Airlock Door B so that D-I can inspect the interior of the air lock and and Airlock Door A.

If any signs of damage or other suspicious occurrences are found, the feeding process should be put on hold and level 3 staff alerted

1. Once containment security has been verified D-I should assist D-II with herding SCP-XXXX-1's food into the secondary containment room.
2. The food should then be brought into the airlock by D-II and D-III and airlock door B sealed.
3. The interior lights of the primary containment module can then be deactivated

Revised Containment Procedures:
Following the events of the ██/██/██² Any and all operations involving SCP-XXXX and/or it's containment facilities must must be approved by Containment Team Sierra or equivalent level 4 personnel as per O5 command. The following shows all changes made to the original containment procedures by said containment team.

SCP-XXXX's primary containment unit must be kept in total darkness at all times during its confinment. This condition may be ignored during feeding and maintenance in order to keep SCP-XXXX-1 at bay, however, luminance must not exceed 50 lux³.

SCP-XXXX must now be contained a minimum of 500m below ground level as well as 700m minimum from the on site barracks and/or detention facility. All beds at the containment facility should be fitted with an IR sensor designed to trigger an alarm at the presence of SCP-XXXX-1. All lights, cameras and sensors involved in SCP-XXXX's containment should be secured behind iron grills where needed.

+ Revised feeding procedure for SCP-XXXX-1

Observing from an exterior room with a direct visual and two way audio link the command staff of Containment Team Sierra should carry out the procedure and instruct three (3) D-class as follows:

1. One D-class (D-I) must enter the secondary containment room and inspect the primary containment module for signs of damage, specifically the air lock door.
2. Activate the interior lighting within the primary containment module and open Airlock Door B, after confirming SCP-XXXX-1 has retreated beneath SCP-XXXX-2. D-I should then inspect the interior of the air lock and and Airlock Door A.

If any signs of damage or other suspicious occurrences are found, the feeding process should cease immediately and the head of Containment Team Sierra alerted

1. Once containment security has been verified the other D-class (D-II and D-III) should enter the secondary containment room with SCP-XXXX-1's nutrients (need more technical/appropriate term) while D-I supervises Airlock Door A.
2. The food should then be herded into the airlock by D-II and D-III.
3. D-III should enter the airlock with the food and have Airlock Door B sealed behind them.
4. After re-confirming SCP-XXXX-1's position under SCP-XXXX-2, open Airlock Door A to allow D-III to guide the food into the central containment module.
5. Once the food is clear of the threshold immediately reseal Airlock Door A. After 10 seconds, and with SCP-XXXX-1 maintaining position, airlock door B may be opened for D-III's extraction. If SCP-XXXX-1 has already begun to feed despite the interior luminance, D-III should be left within the airlock until SCP-XXXX-1 returns to SCP-XXXX-2.
6. Once D-III is released close Airlock Door B and deactivate the interior lights of the primary containment module. Instruct the D-class to leave and maintain observation of SCP-XXXX-1 throughout the feeding process.

Should the procedure deviate from the affor mentioned steps the captain of CT Sierra should be alerted to the situation. Should the situation escalate before contact is made the highest ranking member of staff assumes the role of acting captain.

In the event of an escape attempt, SCP-XXXX's containment area should be sealed and a general alert issued to the entire facility to turn on all lights in the vicinity. These instructions may be adapted at the discretion of Containment Team Sierra's acting captain on a case by case basis.

SCP-XXXX-1's visible form appears to be that of a mimetic shadow⁴, although some features remain constant: Eyes lacking both pupil and sclera as well as clawed hands and feet. The eyes appear blue when docile and turn red when hostile, often the only indication of SCP-XXXX-1's presence.

Due to SCP-XXXX-1's apparent intangible nature it is capable of demanifesting in suitable locations⁵, SCP-XXXX-1 is then able to remanifest at any other location meeting these requirments. Analysis of incident logs and projected travel patterns suggest the range of this ability does not exceed ~250m. It should be noted that travel to SCP-XXXX-2 appears to disregard this rule and that how SCP-XXXX-1 achieves this movement is, as yet, unknown.

SCP-XXXX-1 shows discomfort at light levels exceeding 150 lux and a distinct aversion to light levels exceeding 500 lux⁶, showing clear signs of distress when exposed. Iron has also been shown to repel SCP-XXXX-1, especially in pure elemental form. Effectiveness decreases when placed in alloy but still remains viable for use in containment due to higher rigidity⁷. It should be noted that iron also reduces/inhibits SCP-XXXX-1's teleportation abilities depending on quantity, however, this has proven ineffective at preventing travel to SCP-XXXX-2.

SCP-XXXX-2

SCP-XXXX-2 is a single oak bed measuring 2.3m in length and 1.1m in width. SCP-XXXX-2 appears to be of considerable age, however, dating has proven inconclusive from the samples taken.

Upon containment of SCP-XXXX-2 multiple examples of human remains were found in the vicinity⁸. Several of these remains matched recent missing persons at the time of containment, but still more are yet to be identified⁹. SCP-XXXX-2 is also missing several large sections of the frame and mattress, suggesting SCP-XXXX-1 prefers to capture its victims alive and kill them upon return to SCP-XXXX-2.

Following the containment of SCP-XXXX-1 by (insert squad name), recommendation by team leader J███ P██████ for the immediate testing of the effect of iron on SCP-XXXX-1 has been approved.

Experiment log 01 - ██/██/██ 3 hours after containment

Subject: SCP-XXXX-1
Procedure: Over the course of 8 hours, six (6) D-class entered SCP-XXXX's temporary containment unit, each equipped with iron armour plating of various degrees of purity. D-class personnel (Subjects?) were instructed to approach SCP-XXXX-2 and take typical sleeping positions.
Results:
*8:57*: D-9372 (is that how you reference them?) entered SCP-XXXX's chamber and started towards SCP-XXXX-2 wearing XX% carbon steel plating.
*8:58*: SCP-XXXX-1 became visible in a passive state when D-9372 was approximately 4m from SCP-XXXX-2. D-9372 halted and refused to continue forwards.
*9:00*: SCP-XXXX-1 became hostile and attacked D-9372. The armour plating gave no extra protection bar standard resistance to damage.

In extreme cases SCP-XXXX-1 will not be deterred by said light levels, despite the stress that is caused. In such cases personnel are advised not to increase SCP-XXXX-1's exposure to light as this may trigger a more severe reaction¹⁰.

It has been confirmed that SCP-XXXX-1 utilises a rudimentary form of wormhole generation. As to why the wormholes only connect specific types of locations is still under investigation.
