The Man From The Future... Sort Of.
SCP-XXXY (Centre), directly before Incident Eloi-3-XXXY. Note the presence of Mateo P███ behind him.
Item Number: SCP-XXXY
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXY is currently contained in a standard humanoid containment chamber at Site ██. The cell is furnished with a bed, dining table, fridge, television, dresser and a simple bathroom.
Any personal conversing with SCP-XXXY are advised to formulate their responses or questions to SCP-XXXY in their head, wait five seconds for SCP-XXXY to speak, and then make their statement. This is advised even if SCP-XXXY has already proposed an answer to the question being asked.
Description: SCP-XXXY is Darren C██████, a 48-year old caucasian male from the province of Alberta, Canada. SCP-XXXY stands at 1.85m, and weighs 81 kg. SCP-XXXY married Jennifer C█████ on ██/██/19██, and the two conceived two children, Tom C██████ and Haley C██████. SCP-XXXY worked as a software developer in the town of █████████, until incident Eloi-3-XXXY, which has apparently displaced SCP-XXXY approximately five seconds into the future perceived reality. SCP-XXXY displayed no anomalous qualities before this, and can recall no other anomalous events happening in it's life.
Currently, the exact extent of SCP-XXXY's anomalous abilities are scarcely understood, and it is assumed that the subject has somehow displaced to a reality that mirror's the foundation's current one, but is five seconds ahead in time. Thus, SCP-XXXY is able to perfectly communicate to personal in the it's realm, while also staying five seconds ahead of the foundations realm.
The other leading theory on the nature of SCP-XXXY, theorized by Dr. Caterzealis, states [DATA EXPUNGED]
SCP-XXXY is not clairvoyent by it's own accord, and claims that to it, nothing is amiss, and SCP-XXXY experiences reality normally, with no anomalous or shifts. SCP-XXXY explains away it's anamolous nature by stating that it is not making predictions, but instead responding to stimuli as they are presented.
Reaction tests given to SCP-XXXY do not show any abnormalities to the subjects reaction speed, or mental processing. In fact, the subject scored lower than average on a majority of tests, despite reacting to them five seconds before the tests were performed. SCP-XXXY has been found to not be anomalous in any other way or capacity, excluding it's predictive nature.
Sometime between 199█, and 199█, SCP-XXXY started a adulterous relationship with Marzia L█████, a 19-year old intern who worked at the same company as SCP-XXXY. SCP-XXXY was able to keep this relationship a secret from it's wife, Jennifer C█████, for █ years, until she eventually discovered the affair in 20██, after she spotted SCP-XXXY through a window in their house, engaged in intercourse with Marzia L█████.
Jennifer C█████ hid this fact from SCP-XXXY for █ months, until their family vacation to New York City, New York, where she hired a contract killer, Mateo P███, to eliminate her husband on the trip. She had instructed Mateo P███ to elimnate SCP-XXXY in a secluded area, but instead, he deicided to eliminate SCP-XXXY as early as possible. At approximately 3:35, on ██/██, Mateo P██ traveled to Washington Square Park, and shot SCP-XXXY in the chest while it posed with it's family for a photo. SCP-XXXY blacked out upon being shot, but also claims that directly before losing consciousness, it remembers seeing "[A] White hot light, like how characters in TV shows see God or something".
SCP-XXXY was immediately rushed to New York Presbyterian Hospital, where the foundation eventually recovered the subject.
Details of Recovery: SCP-XXXY was recovered from New York Presbyterian Hospital after Incident Eloi-3-XXXY, where the subject was recovering from the attempted assassination by Mateo P███. Foundation agents were dispatched after several of the staff reported SCP-XXXY acting oddly, and answering question or replying to statements before they had been asked. Class-C Amnestics were given to all staff attending to SCP-XXXY, and the subject was safely extracted to Site ██, where on-site medical staff treated the subject for a major gunshot wound.
It was decided by foundation personnel to not administer ammnestics to the family of SCP-XXXY or Jennifer C█████, due to their current beliefs that SCP-XXXY is dead. Mrs. C█████ had begun to claim that SCP-XXXY had died of it's injuries even before foundation agents were dispatched to the hospital to recover SCP-XXXY. Embedded agents have decided to stick with the story, and as of ██/█/20██, Darren C█████ has been legally declared dead.
Interviews
Interview-XXXY-153-1
Interviewed: SCP-XXXY
Interviewer: Dr. Ozeal Redeker
Foreword: This is Dr. Redeker's first interview with SCP-XXXY, after it has been in containment for 27 hours. Dr. Redeker was briefed on SCP-XXXY's anomalous nature, but has yet to formally meet the subject. SCP-XXXY appears to be confused, but respectful towards him.
<Begin Log>
Dr. Redeker: Hello-
SCP-XXXY: Fine, I suppose. A little worried. Are you a doctor?
Dr. Redeker: Well, yes-
SCP-XXXY: Alright. Ask what you'd like to. Not sure much help I'll be though. You may want to talk to my wife, if she's around.
Dr. Redeker: Could you-
SCP-XXXY: Doing what? I don't understand what you mean doctor…. Could I…. could I ask you a question, doctor?
Dr. Redeker remains silent, testing how SCP-XXXY will react to the silence
SCP-XXXY: Doctor…?
Dr. Redeker: Very well, ask-
SCP-XXXY: Where am I, Doctor? This doesn't look like a hospital… Is everything alright with me? Am I ok?
Dr. Redeker: I'm afraid that's-
SCP-XXXY: Uh…. Alright….
Dr. Redeker: … I'll be right back….

Interview-XXXY-153-2
Interviewed: Mateo P███
Interviewer: Dr. Gerald Caterzealis
<Begin log>
Dr. Caterzealis: Please state your name for the record.
Mateo P███: Luis F. Romeros.
Dr. Caterzealis: Your real name, please.
Mateo P███: That is my real name.
Dr. Caterzealis: We know who you are, Mateo. We know what you've done, and frankly, we don't care. Help us, and we can help you too.
Mateo P███: Fine. But let me just say, this is fucking stupid. My name's Mateo P███.
Dr. Caterzealis: Good. Now, how do you know Mrs. Jennifer C█████?
Mateo P███: Just some lady, coming to me with work. She wasn't a friend or anything, if that's what you're asking.
Dr. Caterzealis: What work did she come to you with?
Mateo P███: Classic hit. Nothing out of the ordinary. Shoot a cheating husband and get paid. Easy stuff. Look, what is this, man? You guys ain't cops, so who the hell are you?
Dr. Caterzealis: That's not for you to know. Why don't you tell me what transpired on the afternoon of ████ ██th, at Washington Square Park?
Mateo P███: Lady was telling me to shoot him when the time was right or something, but that ain't how I roll. Bunch of our boys had recently got busted, and I was gettin' backed up on contracts, so I just shot that mofo' where he stood. Course I get my ass busted myself after that. Then you guys spring me, and now I'm here.
Dr. Caterzealis: I see. The tools you used to shoot Mr. C█████, they were all standard?
Mateo P███: I guess? Don't really know what you mean.
Dr. Caterzealis: No anomalies were involved?
Mateo P███: Man, since I don't even know what that is, I'll give it a big no.
Dr. Caterzealis: Right, I think that's all we need. Thank you.
Mateo P███: Did I get him?
Dr. Caterzealis: Pardon me?
Mateo P███: Did I kill em'? Come on man, don't leave me hanging here. I did good, didn't I?
Dr. Caterzealis: That's classified I'm afraid.
Mateo P███: Damn, can't fault a man for trying though.
<End Log>
Note: Mateo P███ was administered Class-C amnestics, and returned to their holding cell at Amtrak Police Department without incident.
Interview-XXXY-153-3
Interviewed: SCP-XXXY
Interviewer: Dr. Ozeal Redeker
Foreword: Dr. Redeker was advised to think of his question or response to SCP-XXXY first, wait five seconds, and then to speak it, even if SCP-XXXY has already responded to it. This was advised to ensure fluid conversation, and to protect both Dr. Redeker and SCP-XXXY in the case that SCP-XXXY is able to alter the reality of it's conversational partner. By this point, SCP-XXXY had become aware of it's own anomalies, through various conversations and tests.
<Begin Log>
Dr. Redeker enter's SCP-XXXY's chamber, and sits.
SCP-XXXY: Yeah, I'm fine. Physically at least. What do you need doctor?
Dr. Redeker: Good Afternoon, how are you feeling today Mr. C█████?
SCP-XXXY: Sure. I'll try to answer what I can, although I still don't fully understand what's going on with me.
Dr. Redeker: Just a couple of questions, before we move into the next test. Is that alright?
SCP-XXXY: Heh, I imagine it must be. No, yeah, it just seems like we're having a normal conversation right now. Others have been saying that I'm talking from the future?
Dr. Redeker: What are you perceiving right now in our conversation? Any anomalies? Any-… I'm- I'm sorry Mr. C█████, this is…. this is just more than a little bizarre.
SCP-XXXY: Jeez. Do you think I can be cured?
Dr. Redeker: I believe it's a bit more complicated than that, but yes, basic conversation and other tests show that your responses are coming five seconds earlier than they should be.
SCP-XXXY: No, nothing at all. I was just normal. Boringly normal, in fact. Do you think it would be possible for me to talk to my family at all? Or at least learn how they're doing?
Dr. Redeker: We're working towards what we can. Do you have any idea how this could have happened, at all? Any past histories with anomalies?
SCP-XXXY: Well, we were walking in the park, and of course, I'm a dad, so I wanted a photo of the kids on our vacation. Asked a random bystander to take a photo of us, and she agreed. We all posed, and then, bang! Fucker got me. They say in war movies that when you hear a sniper shot, be grateful, because that means that you weren't the one in the sniper's sights. Wasn't true with me. I heard it, and then, there was this white hot light, like how characters in TV shows see God or something. Maybe I watch too many movies. Anyways, after that, I was in the hospital, and everything was normal. Well, as normal as things could be, I suppose.
Dr. Redeker: We're looking into it, Mr. C█████. I can't give you an answer right now. Can you describe what you remember right before the shot?
SCP-XXXY: Yeah, but I didn't pay too much attention to it. Figured it was just me.
Dr. Redeker: And you found that the nurses were acting oddly towards you?
SCP-XXXY: Alright, thanks doctor. Hopefully you guys can figure things out, and I can get back to my life.
Dr. Redeker: Thank you Mr. C█████, that will be all for now.
<End Log>
Closing Note: "SCP-XXXY doesn't seem to be predicting my speech, or influencing what I'm saying, at least that's what it seems like. But to say that he's five seconds in the future from us, would imply that what happens five seconds later is already set in stone. We're going to need to do some testing on this.
Also, can someone edit that to be more comprehensible? Man, that was really confusing."
- Dr. Redeker

Test-152-19 |
Dr. Laurie Wilson |
D-767992 was instructed to enter into SCP-XXXY's chamber, and to take a seat with SCP-XXXY. D-767992 was to think to himself various things to say towards SCP-XXXY, but not to speak or react to SCP-XXXY in any way. SCP-XXXY was not informed of the testing parameters. |
D-767992 sat with SCP-XXXY thinking of various conversation topics, and speaking to SCP-XXXY in his head. Nothing that D-767992 thought was noticed by SCP-XXXY, and for a majority of the test, SCP-XXXY seemed confused, trying to begin a conversation with D-767992, to no avail. |
Test-152-47 |
Dr. Laurie Wilson |
D-02302 was instructed to enter into SCP-XXXY's chamber, and begin a conversation with SCP-XXXY. The topic of the conversation was irrelevant. Upon SCP-XXXY speaking, D-02302 was to interrupt SCP-XXXY, and begin speaking herself. SCP-XXXY was not informed of the testing parameters. |
D-02302 successfully began conversation with SCP-XXXY, and as expected, SCP-XXXY gave responses to D-02302 before D-02302 could speak. Each time SCP-XXXY spoke, D-02302 interrupted the subject, however SCP-XXXY did not seem to notice. Upon later being question, SCP-XXXY claimed no knowledge of the interruptions. |
Test-153-6 |
Dr. Ozeal Redeker |
D-885640 was instructed to stand in front of SCP-XXXY, and move in an assigned pattern around SCP-XXXY's chamber. SCP-XXXY was instructed to sit opposite of D-885640, and point it's finger at the D-class, attempting to keep it's finger pointed at him. |
D-885640 successfully navigated the chamber as instructed. SCP-XXXY failed to keep it's finger pointing at D-885640, however consistently pointed it's finger to places in the chamber that D-885640 would travel in five seconds time. When asked if it was able to complete the task, SCP-XXXY claimed that it had successfully kept it's finger pointing at D-885640 for the duration of the test. |
Test-151-88 |
Dr. Gerald Caterzealis |
D-885640 was instructed to stand in front of SCP-XXXY, and move in an assigned pattern around SCP-XXXY's chamber at first, but after twenty seconds, would only attempt to avoid whichever direction SCP-XXXY would be pointing. SCP-XXXY was instructed to sit opposite of D-885640, and point it's finger at the D-class, attempting to keep it's finger pointed at him. |
D-885640 successfully navigated the chamber as instructed, and then began trying to avoid having SCP-XXXY's finger pointing at him. Again, SCP-XXXY failed to keep it's finger pointed at D-885640. When later asked if it had succeeded, SCP-XXXY claimed that it had once again succeeded in it's task. Of note, when asked to point towards D-885640 after the test, SCP-XXXY pointed to a corner in it's chamber, where it claimed that D-885640 was standing. SCP-XXXY was again incorrect, as D-885640 was standing in the other corner of it's chamber, but SCP-XXXY remained completely convinced that it was pointing it's finger at D-885640. |
Test-153-18 |
Dr. Ozeal Redeker |
D-527914 was instructed to enter SCP-XXXY's chamber with a plastic ball, and to throw the ball to SCP-XXXY, who was then instructed to catch the ball, and throw it back to D-527914. |
D-527914 successfully threw the ball to SCP-XXXY, who mimicked catching it before D-527914 had even thrown it. When she did throw the ball, SCP-XXXY did not react to it, letting it fly past his head, and instead mimicked throwing the ball back to D-527914. She then informed SCP-XXXY that it had indeed not caught the ball, and had not throw it to her. SCP-XXXY remained adamant that it had caught the ball, and had throw it back to D-527914, who had simply failed to catch it. After a few more attempts by D-527914 to get SCP-XXXY to catch the ball, all of them failing, D-527914 became frustrated, and refused to participate in the test any longer. SCP-XXXY apologized to D-527914, but also claimed to be unsure of what it had done to upset her. |
Test-153-25 |
Dr. Ozeal Redeker |
D-527914 was instructed to stand in front of SCP-XXXY, and not to retract to anything SCP-XXXY might say, or do. SCP-XXXY was instructed to throw the ball from Test-153-18 (Which according to SCP-XXXY, never left it's cell, despite personal removing the ball) squarely at D-527914, and told that she would catch it. |
SCP-XXXY raised it's arm, and mimicked a throwing motion towards D-527914. A few moments later, SCP-XXXY reacted in embarrassment, apologizing to D-527914, claiming to have hit her in the face. Despite D-527914 being unharmed, and not interacting with SCP-XXXY, the subject was observed to have a completely animate brief conversation with D-527914, in which SCP-XXXY claims to have briefly joked about the foundation, and their "overly cruel tests". When asked later by researchers, D-527914 claimed that "it sounded like something [she] would have said. |
Addendum-01
Following extensive cooperation, and lack of intent to cause the foundation harm or distress, SCP-XXXY was officially downgraded from Euclid to Safe on January █, 2014.
Currently, the foundation see's no uses for SCP-XXXY in prediction or containment of breaches and other catastrophic events. While SCP-XXXY's anomalous abilities to predict our future are indeed useful, the very short window where this information is vital has been deemed insignificant to foundation efforts.
Researchers are still looking into the practical uses for SCP-XXXY however, and SCP-XXXY itself has expressed desire to helping the foundation in any way that it can.
Addendum-02; Incident Eloi-4-XXXY
On ██/██/2012, during jointesting with SCP-███, in which [DATA EXPUNGED], D-58326 was terminated by SCP-███, due to reasons unrelated to SCP-XXXY in any way. SCP-XXXY however, blamed itself for the results, later expressing guilt for the failure of the test, and hoping that D-58326 would survive. SCP-XXXY was not aware that D-58326 had already died, and later, when Dr. Redeker entered SCP-XXXY's chamber, SCP-XXXY expressed distress and sadness at learning of D-58326's demise. Dr. Redeker simply nodded at SCP-XXXY's statement, leaving SCP-XXXY without saying anything else. Dr. Redeker had neglected to inform SCP-XXXY of D-58326's death, even though SCP-XXXY had already reacted to Dr. Redeker doing so. The following result, seems to have caused SCP-XXXY to shift once more, into a different timeline or reality.
Ever since Incident Eloi-4-XXXY, SCP has not reacted to any kind of stimuli from foundation personnel, including conversation, physical pain, or SCP-███, which had been used before in testing with SCP-XXXY. At several times during the day, SCP-XXXY is observed to have animate conversations with persons not seen by the foundation. Most of the time SCP-XXXY is observed to be conversing with what it thinks, to be Dr. Redeker. A list of some of these recorded interactions can be found below.

Hey doctor. What's on the docket today?
[Twenty seconds pass]
Ok…..
[Fifty nine seconds pass]
You're going to have to repeat all this, by the way, because I'm probably going to forget most of it.
[Eight seconds pass]
So, where do I fit in with all this?
[Four seconds pass]
Yeah, I got that, but why me?
[Fourteen seconds pass]
Fair. I just forget sometimes, you know? Heh, can you believe that? That I could forget about something like this.
[Twenty five seconds pass]
So you just hook me up with this phone thing, the 2922 thing, and then we can just talk? But about this Corbenic place then?
[Thirty seven seconds pass]
Yeah, but I still die….
[Five seconds pass]
Fine, fine. Later it is then.
<End Log>
<Begin Log>
Whatever happened to that guy, anyways?
[Two seconds pass]
The one that shot me. He in jail?
[Six seconds pass]
Of course it is. Come on doc, can't you just tell me? What exactly am I going to do with this information anyways?
[Eleven seconds pass]
Why don't you just tell them that then? I'm sure they'd listen more to you than they'd to me.
[Four seconds pass]
I'm curious. Wouldn't you be? I mean, I'm curious about every damn thing happening outside my window. T.V news can only tell me so much.
[Six seconds pass]
Really though. My son wanted to go into journalism, and that's exactly what I told him. Hey doc, do you…. do you think the higher up's are still processing my request to see my family?
[Twelve seconds pass]
It's just been a while, and I'd really like to see them, you know doc? Hell, give them those memory wipers that I know you guys have after we meet, I don't care. Just let me talk to them.
[Five seconds pass]
Alright, thanks doctor.
<End Log>
Note: SCP-XXXY seems to be miming holding a phone to it's ear throughout most of the conversation.
<Begin Log>
Jenn? Jenn! Hey! It's Darren. Look, I know you're probably scared and confused right now, but don't worry, you're not being kidnapped. Well, you kinda are, but they'll put you back afterwards, and then-
[Four seconds pass]
Surprise! I'm not.
[Six seconds pass]
What do you mean? Where did you think I was then?
[Ten seconds pass]
Are you fucking kidding me Jenn? Is this really what we're talking about right now?
[Eight seconds pass]
That's none of your business. What me and Marzia-
[Fifteen seconds pass]
As my wife? Yeah, sure fucking thing Jenn. I guess I just thought that affairs were something that was common in the household!
[Three seconds pass]
What, you think I didn't know about you and the milkman? I mean, Jesus Jenn, the fucking milkman? At least I have standards when I look for my sexual partners.
[Nine seconds pass]
Yeah? Well the fucking same to you then! Good-fucking-bye you psychotic bitch!
[Twenty two seconds pass] By this point, SCP-XXXY has stopped miming holding a phone.
Guess I should have expected that.
[Seven seconds pass]
Almost wish she would. You're right though, doctor. Just… can I get a little bit of time alone please?
[Four seconds pass]
Yeah, alright….
<End Log>
Tests are still ongoing to determine whether or not SCP-XXXY can be shifted once more into another reality, or whether the affect caused by Incident Eloi-4-XXXY is permanent.
