Item #: SCP-4744

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4744 is to be contained in a standard humanoid cell. The cell is to contain 4 flood lights which are to be turned on every 5 hours and are to be left on for 2 hours. Within those 2 hours if SCP-4744 is not visible containment breach is to be sounded and personnel are to follow containment protocol 4744-A, see Addendum 4744-A for more information. Personnel that are assigned to SCP-4744 are to carry a Imalent MS18 flashlight at all times.

Description: SCP-4744 is a living shadow humanoid. It can use the the darkness as a way to move around and escape. If SCP-4744 gets caught in direct light it will suddenly stop and fall into a strange shadow blob. SCP-4744 tends to avoid light making it easier to contain him that way. If SCP-4744 stays in direct light for too long will the then "fade" signalling that he has died. Due to there still being lots that is not known about SCP-4744 personnel are advised not to do this. SCP-4744 is able to kill and will kill if it sees that a target is defenseless and alone. It will never attack more than one person at a time.

Dr. Jackson: "Hello, and welcome to the SCP-4744 containment protocol instructional video. I will be your instructor Dr. Jackson. Now in the event that containment breach is sounded at least 1 Security personnel are to stay position and are to follow standard protocol. In the event that SCP-4744 breaches, all foundation flood light are to be turned on, and emergency power supply is to be activated. Personnel provided with flash lights are then to turn them on. If SCP-4744 is spotted personnel are to direct their lights towards it. Remember, at least 5 personnel are required to have their flashlights directed at SCP-4744 to prevent it from escaping. All personnel in possession on the flashlights are reminded not to point them at each other, someone was already blinded because of it. Oh ya, and in the event that it does breach you are advised to stay with at least one other person. Trust me it's safer than way. Anyways that concludes this instructional video. I hope it helped out."
