Special containment procedure: SCP-4208 is to be kept in a 4x4x4 cm, bullet proof container at site 72. SCP-4208 is to be guarded but at least two guards at all times with guards being switched every twelve hours. SCP-4208 is to be kept under heavy serveilence. Anyone entering SCP-4208’s containment chambers to be terminated ASAP. Those on serveilence duty are to be administered class B amnestics between shifts. SCP-4208 is to be kept in an undisclosed location at site 72. Anyone with any sort of visual exposure to SCP-4208 is to be terminated. Minimal visual description of SCP-4208 is permitted.
Description: SCP-4208 is a light green spiral notebook. The pages of SCP-4208 appear blank until someone is within a 5m radius of SCP-4208 for 2-3 minuets. Once this time has passed SCP-4208 will swing open and begin to make requests of the exposed individual. These requests start out relatives innocent, with SCP-4208 requesting for a picture to be drawn or for a story to be written with in its contents. SCP-4208 will also offer a reward in return for completing it’s tasks, usually offering something that the exposed individual wants at the time like food or money, upon completion of the task the reward offered by SCP-4208 will manifest in in the hands of, or around, the individual. If the exposed individual continues to complete SCP-4208’s task it will push the bar as to what the individual will do for its rewards. By this point the exposed individual will have already surcumbed to SCP-4208 secondary affects becoming completely obsessed with it and doing anything for its rewards. SCP-4208 will begin to ask the individual to steal, or assault others for it, and after more compliance is shown SC0-4208 will ask the exposed individual to kill for it. At this point SCP-4208 will change the tone of its requests and its instructions will become more complex frequently needing the individual to stop and await further instructions. The steaks of SCP-4208’s rewards are raised as well offering fame and power in return for the killings and by this point it’s reality warping capability’s or on full display.
Addendum: SCP-4208 was confiscated from and evidence locker by MTF Iota-10 (“Damn feds”) on 3/10/13 after it was connected to multiple serial killers over the course of eighteen cases. The suspects all pleaded guitlty and stated that “the notebook” told them to do it. But these claims were dismissed after no writing was found in SCP-4208.
Addendum: 4/2/13 SCP-4208’s object classification was changed from Safe to Euclid after direct visual exposure to SCP-4208 was found to trigger its secondary affects and it’s containment procedures changed accordingly.
Addendum: 20/4/18 SCP-4208’s object classification was changed from Euclid to Keter after any sort of visual exposure to SCP-4208 was found to trigger its secondary affects and it’s containmen procedures changed accordingly.
