SCP-5999-2
Item #: 5999
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: An electrified chain link fence is set up around the perimeter of SCP-5999 and this fence must be maintained and monitored. Sensors and cameras must be monitored at all times. There is a set of electronic doors that require an operator's keycard for entry. The keycards must have the name of the operator, a picture of the operator, and the date in which that operator obtained his/her keycard (this is specifically for security purposes). The testing facility requires a keycard for entry as well.
Specific Requirements for SCP-5999-2: One staff member must enter the site of SCP-5999 at exactly noon to communicate and enjoy Camomile Tea with SCP-5999-2. If this requirement is not met, or cannot be met, SCP-5999-2 will attempt to breach the fence with its branches and roots.
- A small facility for monitoring SCP-5999 was erected approximately five meters from the eastern side of the fence to prohibit possible contamination of the site and to give D-class personnel time to subdue SCP-5999-2 in the event of an attempted escape.
- Samples of SCP-5999-1 should be contained in glass bottles and vials for testing purposes.
- A branch of SCP-5999-2 should be kept in a glass box large enough to fit the section of the branch with the capability to drain itself of excess fluids.
- To prevent the overflow of SCP-5999-1, the staff must monitor the automatic draining of the glass container every hour. The use of glass as a storage device is referenced in section two.
- To administer Camomile Tea to SCP-5999-2, D-class personnel must pour no more than one gallon at and around the base of the tree.
Description Section One: SCP-5999 is a field that is exactly one acre large with one large scarlet oak tree, referred to as SCP-5999-2, in the center. When test subjects stepped foot upon SCP-5999, a red fluid, referred to as SCP-5999-1, oozed out of the dirt, grass, and daisies within SCP-5999. Upon further examination, there appeared to be no other abnormal effects with this entity.
Description Section Two: SCP-5999-1 has strong regenerative and reparative properties and is known to repair: cell and tissue damage of any kind, articles of clothing, namely those which have cuts, burns, holes or other unintended marks, machinery which was previously operable, etc. SCP-5999-1 has a molasses-like consistency and taste and, according to test subjects, "It's like coffee but, with more punch." Test subjects had an increase in positive moods. The only known substance that cannot be repaired, or modified by SCP-5999-1, is glass
Description Section Three: SCP-5999-2, unlike the others, has an Object Class of Euclid due to it being a sentient creature. SCP-5999-2 constantly leaks SCP-5999-1 from all sections of the tree, even when detached from the trunk. SCP-5999-2 can communicate through morse code but is otherwise incapable of any other form of communication. SCP-5999-2 likes Camomile Tea and can be satiated with the drink if it becomes aggressive.
First Discovery: SCP-5999 was first discovered by previously unknown Native American tribes in the plains of the state of [REDACTED]. Archeological finds in the region found that battles took place in and around the site, possibly for control of SCP-5999-1's restorative properties. However, some bone markings suggest that this tribe participated in ritual sacrifice around SCP-5999-2.
