the pain of want

Class: safe

Special Containment Procedures: to be stored in a concrete room on a pedestal, to be guarded with one (1) armed guard. All staff that monitor and/or test with XXXX are to wear acid resistant suits and are to be given background checks to see if any of their family or friends have died recently, please remember that XXXX-2 will burn through any suit, the suit only protects the wearer long enough for them to be taken away from XXXX-2 if any staff try to put their hand in XXXX-2 they are to be reprimanded and redeployed elsewhere

Description: XXXX is what appears to be a colander with a red liquid filled to the brim, the liquid-named XXXX-2- shows anyone looks at it what they most desire so much so that they are willing to put their hand in the liquid to pull it out (hence why no grieving staff are allowed in the same room as XXXX-2) and they feel compelled to plunge their hand into the liquid to pull it out however it is extremely acidic with an estimated PH of 0.01 and has destroyed the hand of anyone who has tried to do this. Researchers are unable to get an exact number as all conventional testers dissolve in under a second. The effect of the want to get the object the subject saw does not end once eye contact is broken and test subject have attempted to find XXXX for up to 2 months. XXXX-2 acts like a solid on the exterior, but personnel have noticed that the interior of XXXX-2 behaves much like a liquid with a similar consistency to SCP 999. XXXX-2 does not fall through the holes like any normal liquid but instead stays in shape as if it were ice, the colander, henceforth called XXXX-1 appears to be almost indestructible and completely unaffected by acids and alkalis.
