Special Containment Procedures : SCP-XXXX is to be contained in a 20 m x 20 m x 20 m cell composed of reinforced concrete. Access to this cell is only allowed once all instances of SCP-XXXX are sedated. Routine camera inspection is mandatory, as an instance of SCP-XXXX was seen attacking and consuming several cameras in an attempt to hinder observation and escape. The containment area is to be cleaned monthly as well, due to the secreted foliage covering the entire area. Viewing area consists of ballistic glass 9 cm in thickness and level 3 clearance is required to enter SCP-XXXX chamber.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a bipedal group of 6 predators discovered in the heart of a dormant volcano roughly 2 meters in height and 6 meters in length, they appear to be a descendant of Dilophosaurus at first glance, upon closer inspection their claws resemble that of the Velociraptor on their feet. They also have a three crests on their heads, the outer two resembling that of the Dilophosaurus while the middle seems to be that of the Veiled Chameleon. SCP-XXXX skin pigment is dark green with white spots throughout, it was also noted that one instance of SCP-XXXX changed its skin color to ambush prey.
SCP-XXXX appear to communicate with one another using chirps and hooting sounds. Each instance of SCP-XXXX are all capable of secreting a resin which causes foliage from the Jurassic era to emerge from the surrounding area, which they seem to thrive in. This foliage appears on any surface, including some which don’t follow natural law such as concrete and metal. Studies on the chemical makeup of this foliage are ongoing.
The behavior of SCP-XXXX is consistently hostile to all other species. They hunt as a pack and using their ability to create their own hospitable environments, they gradually develop more space to hunt more prey (Typical speed of SCP-XXXX is roughly 25 m/h). Small arms gunfire proved ineffective on SCP-XXXX, but heavier caliber weapons were able to dispatch two instances of SCP-XXXX. Their aggression seems to increase significantly when an intruding presence is near a clutch of eggs. When an egg has been stolen from SCP-XXXX nest, every instance of SCP-XXXX grows a secondary layer of armor and enters an enraged state. Subjects were observed moving ██ m/h and seemed to have an acute awareness of where the egg was during the entire event. Heavier caliber weapons had no effect on SCP-XXXX in this state, as soon as the egg was recovered however, every instance of SCP-XXXX seemed to simultaneously shed their armor and entered their normal behavior.
Discovery: SCP-XXXX was discovered soon after reports of local residents going missing were tracked to a remote area on the ██████ islands, near the volcano ███████. An MTF squad was sent in, and managed to subdue the creatures residing in the volcano.
Addendum XXXX.1: Further investigations into the origins of SCP-XXXX’s reproduction cycle lead to the discovery of another much larger instance of SCP-XXXX being discovered. Now designated SCP-XXXX-1, this creature stands 4 meters in height and is at a length of 8 meters. It appears that all normal instances of SCP-XXXX are male, while SCP-XXXX-1 is a female. SCP-XXXX-1 also appears to permanently use the armor that SCP-XXXX only generates in certain situations of stress, leading to SCP-XXXX-1 being nearly un-killable with most traditional means.
