Special Containment Procedures: To prevent spread of it's anomalous affects, SCP-9696 is to be contained in a channel labelled 'hell' within any social media apps it has access to, the most prominent of which being a electron-based chat application called 'Discord'. Following incident 9696-A, all infected individuals are to seek immediate psychiatric help, and are to be quickly exposed to the colour purple.
Description: SCP-9696 is a memetically transmitted disease spread through popular online messaging services, most prominently 'Discord'. Once any infected subjects (henceforth referred to as SCP-9696-1) joins a community in an aforementioned service, it will begin to imitate and worship a high-ranking member (henceforth referred to as SCP-9696-2) of the community, often exhibiting cult-like behaviour. Once the population of SCP-9696-1 in a community grows to roughly 10 members, all instances of SCP-9696-1 in the community will enter a rage state, sending 25-50 messages per minute on average, often demanding a coloured 'role' or other form of rank in the community.
Incident 9696-A: On 17/2/19, a small number of instances of SCP-9696-1 joined the 'Arcade Coin' Discord community following a large influx of users to the community, and began worshipping the head owner of the community: 'Andrew'. After roughly 15 minutes of this behaviour, all instances of SCP-9696-1 instead began to imitate another user: 'Papa Prowler'. At this point, MTF-Omega-27("Green Members") were dispatched to neutralise the threat. After exactly 30 minutes, all instances of SCP-9696-1 were successfully contained and recovered inside temporary containment site 42 ("#hell"), where they were exposed to a purple 'role' colour, neutralising any affects of SCP-9696 on the hosts.
