Special Containment Procedures: SCP-X is to be contained in a locked room in light containment. It is to be kept in a felt lined box. SCP-X is not to be put on by any personnel of the foundation, only D-class residents for testing.
Description: SCP-X is a silver peridot ring that burns the wearer if they make physical contact with a monogamous partner. SCP-X was produced by ████████'s Jewelers in ███████ █████ Mall, Littleton, Colorado. The manufacturers were interviewed and none of them knew of any anomalies SCP-X contained. The manufacturers were given █████ and were not able to remember the interview or SCP-X in general.
When the wearer SCP-X is physically touching or being touched by a lover of any sort (boy/girlfriend, fiance, or spouse), SCP-X will start to shine with a bright intensity, and a burning sensation is felt around SCP-X. During the time of physical touch, the wearer cannot remove SCP-X using any way known of removing a ring.
The longest time a wearer wore SCP-X and was physically touching someone (D-█████) was thirty minutes. The finger had third-degree burns and loss of feeling, due to nerve damage. D-████ was in an active relationship with ██████ ████ before incarceration.
The first owner of SCP-4031 was a 15-year-old woman who complained of a "painful, burning sensation" every time she and her boyfriend touched. SCP-4031 has been tested on a female and male homosexual pair. The sensation was the same on all the test subjects.
SCP-4031 was tested on an ape touching another mated ape. The ape displayed signs of distress and tried removing SCP-4031. The same experiment was done on two more mated ape pairs, which responded the same way. This experiment was done next with three mated pairs of mice. All three female mice showed signs of distress. Two of the female mice who wore the ring perished. Scientists dissected the mice and found severe inner burns and lacerations of abdominal muscles.
There has been recent research on SCP-X, due to test ██-███. In test ██-███, two married D-Class (D-████ and D-████) were holding hands and D-████ put on SCP-X. SCP-X did not affect the pair at all. Counselors investigated the couple and found out that D-████ before [DATA EXPUNGED] was "cheating" on another man.
