SCP - 4924
Object class - Euclid
Special Containment Procedures - SCP 4924-A through -Q are to be kept in the reinforced test tubes they were discovered in until they can be moved to a more secure location. SCP 4924-R through -T are to be separately kept in 6m x 6m x 3m cells lined with metal prongs capable of delivering a 200 volt shock. No object with a larger surface area than an 8 inch cube is allowed into any of the 3 cells outside of testing. No personnel outside of testing are allowed contact with any instance of SCP 4924. Any personnel who attempt to enter any of the 3 cells or give an instance of SCP 4924 an object larger than an 8 inch cube to quote “See if it could do this” are to be immediately contained and examined to see if they have become an instance of SCP 4924-1. No instance of SCP 4924 are allowed to be in the same room as each other due to risk of a repeat of SCP 4924-B (See incident report 4924-1). All guards assigned to SCP 4924 are to be armed with flame throwers. Testing on any instance of SCP 4924 requires written approval from at least 2 level 3 personnel. Release of any SCP 4924 instance from their original test tubes requires written approval from the site director and at least 3 level 3 personnel.
Description - All instances of SCP 4294 are large single celled organisms roughly 15 pounds in weight and an average 6 inches in height but this is easily changed by the instance. Roughly 30 objects are embedded in every instance of SCP 4924. These objects appear to be narrow conical teeth usually 8mm in length. These “teeth” can be submerged into the instance and moved to protrude from any angle on the outside of the instance as a defensive measure should it be discovered by potential prey. By building up pressure with its cytoplasm it can launch these objects with enough force to pierce up to 3 inches into a ballistic gel dummy. Should the instance not be able to recover it’s expelled objects it will use calcium from dissolved prey to create more. SCP 4924 is capable of lashing at potential threats with pseudopod armed with these teeth leaving jagged wounds in victims.
If a object with a larger surface area than an 8 inch cube comes into contact with SCP 4924. The instance will envelop as much of that object as possible within it membrane and over the next 30 minutes will then dissolve the entire object using powerful acid secreted by the instance. Once the object has been completely dissolved the SCP 4924 instance will change to match the pigmentation, dimensions, texture and size of the object it has dissolved over a period of 50 minutes. In the case of an object that was performing a task SCP 4924 will continue performing that task (for example a moving object will continue moving once replaced by SCP 4924). This extends to electronic equipment like camera's and radios (see experiment 4924-1). Should SCP 4924 replace a object that has a reflection like a mirror it is unable to keep up the disguise if it is moved or something else happens that changes the reflection it has copied (see experiment 4924-2). Should the object it attempts to copy be to large for it, it will dissolve a portion of the object instead and replace the portion it has destroyed (See experiment 4924-3).
Once it has destroyed an object it will replace it and wait for a human sized organism to come within 5 ft of the instance. Once the organism has entered that range the SCP 4924 instance will launch itself at the victim's face and completely envelop their head and neck and use its teeth to sever the brain-stem. If this is not possible the SCP 4924 instance will simply smother the victim within its membrane. After the victim has died the instance will begin the process of creating an instance of SCP 4924-1. This process begins by SCP 4924 dissolving the victims entire cranium and brain in a similar process to how it dissolves objects. After the head has been completely dissolved the SCP 4924 instance will replace it and change its appearance to match that of the victims head and face with an exception of the victims teeth which are replaced by the 30 some objects embedded in the SCP 4924 instance (mentioned above).
An SCP 4924 instance will then connect with victims spinal cord and begin animating the deceased corpse resulting in an instance of SCP 4924-1. SCP 4924-1 will stand in place until any creature it considers prey (prey can include rats, humans, cattle and anything biological of similar size). when prey is sited SCP 4924-1 will either approach them or wait until they have entered a range of 5 m. SCP 4924-1 will then disable the prey by launching it's "teeth" into the targets eyes or throat. when the prey is disabled SCP 4924-1 will then start consuming the preys body spinal and brain fluids.
SCP 4924-1 will continue attacking prey in this manner until its host can no longer effectively disguise itself effectively at which point it will move on to another host or if none are available it will change into an object and wait for more prey. SCP 4924 can be dislodged from the host with a large impact such as a point blank shotgun blast or explosion. A melee attack can be attempted but its success rate is far too low for this to be reliable solution.
Should 2 or more instances of SCP 4924 come into contact with each other they will fuse into an instance of SCP 4924-2. SCP 4924-2 is a larger version of SCP 4924 and is superior in several ways. due to its size it produces more acid then it needs to replace objects so it instead uses this excess as an offensive weapon. By building up pressure inside the membrane and opening a small hole in its membrane it can spray high powered acid up to 25 ft. Its enlarged size also allows it mimic larger objects in their entirety. The SCP 4924 instances can be separated by exposure to extreme temperatures such as extreme heat or cold.
All instances of SCP 4924 came into foundation hands after a raid on [REDACTED], a company researching genetics with special interest in amoebas and other large single celled organisms by the cities S.W.A.T team. 16 minutes into the raid all contact was lost with team and the building was sealed. Undercover foundation agents in the S.W.A.T team signaled the foundation that it was indeed something that needed to be handled by the foundation. Disguised as FBI agents recovery team [REDACTED] breached the building and began a sweep. Instances of SCP 4924-A through -Q were still contained in secure test tubes and but it appeared that 3 instances had breached their containment and were loose in the building. Throughout the building they discovered SCP 4924-R and -S both in the process of creating an instance of SCP 4924-1. Both SCP 4924 instances were contained by the team without casualty. Squad leader noted that appeared that one instance of SCP 4924 appeared to be missing so the team continued their sweep of the building until they encountered an instance of SCP 4924-1. They approached it assuming it was one of the agents who had signaled the foundation but were attacked by the instance resulting in the death of agent [REDACTED]. The instance was then contained by the rest of the team and all instances were brought to the foundation.
Incident report 4924-1
Early in SCP 4924's containment it was considered safe to contain all three instances currently not contained in secure test tubes in the same cell and separated by a reinforced Plexiglas wall. All 3
SCP 4924 instances broke containment and resulted in the creation of an instance of SCP 4924-2.
SCP 4924-2 killed and consumed 3 foundation staff members before being contained by security personnel. Afterwards the containment procedures seen above were put in place.
Experiment 4924-1
Nov. 5th, [REDACTED]
Subject - SCP 4924-R
Procedure - SCP 4924-R was introduced to a Camera giving a live wire feed directly to a monitor in the next room.
Result - After 5 minutes SCP 4924-R began copying the camera at which point the live feed was replaced with static. Once SCP 4924-R had completely copied the camera the feed was restored but with some notable differences. The feed was significantly darker then that of the original camera and several bursts of static were noted. The experiment was repeated with a wireless camera with similar results but the feed was far more unstable.
Analysis - It appears SCP 4924-R continued the live feed simply because that's what the object it copied was doing before it came into contact with SCP 4924-R. Further testing is required.
Experiment 4924-2
Nov. 15th, [REDACTED]
Subject -SCP 4924-S
Procedure - SCP 4924-S was introduced to a 10 inch metal cube coated in highly reflective paint. After 4 minutes SCP 4924-S began copying the cube. Once it had finished SCP 4924-S was indistinguishable from the original object. A D-class personnel was instructed to enter SCP 4924-S's cell and stand in front of SCP 4924-S, disrupting the reflection copied by SCP 4924-S.
Result - SCP 4924-S immediately attacked the D-class resulting in death by severing of the brain stem. Security personnel immediately contained SCP 4924-S in a corner of the room before an instance of SCP 4924-1 could be created.
Analysis - SCP 4924's intelligence seems too low to understand that reflection can change and upon realizing that its disguise is now useless will attack the nearest organism it considers prey.
Experiment 4924-3
Nov. 25th [REDACTED]
Subject - SCP 4924-T
Procedure - SCP 4924-T was introduced to several large objects one by one to see what it would do if the object was to large for it to copy in its entirety. This included a car, a wooden door and a mattress.
Result - SCP 4924-T examined each object through touch for 4 to 12 minutes and then began dissolving a portion of the object most likely to come into contact with prey creatures. For example SCP 4924-T entered the car and replaced the cars steering wheel and portion of the steering column. for the door it replaced the door knob and the portion of the door surrounding it. When copying a portion of the mattress SCP 4924-T chose to replace a 25 inch portion directly from the center of the mattress.
Analysis - Instances of SCP 4924 display basic predatory behavior similar to ambush predators. Due to this it is the recommendation of Dr. [REDACTED] to increase SCP 4924's intelligence score to at least a basic intelligence.
