Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be stored in a standard containment chamber, with SCP-XXXX-1 and SCP-XXXX-2 each placed in lead-lined metal boxes encased in concrete.

Description: SCP-XXXX Is a set of two wooden Matryoshka dolls, referred to as SCP-XXXX-1 and SCP-XXXX-2, each measuring 1 meter in height. Each contains of an unknown amount of similarly-designed "layers" (nested dolls), composed of two separate, complementary sections. [REDACTED]

Anything placed inside an instance of SCP-XXXX apparently shrinks to 1/4th its original size by volume, and experiences a time-dilation effect (see experiment log EL-XXXX for details). This property is exhibited by each inner doll, such that each layer is 1/4th the size of the last, while being approximately the same size once un-nested. Because of this, the inside of each doll is mostly empty space until filled.

Using Procedure XXXX-P-1, the outer layer of XXXX-1 may be removed and placed over XXXX-2, effectively becoming the outer layer of XXXX-2. This procedure may also be done in reverse.

Experiment Log- XXXX-E1:

Head Researcher: Researcher Greene

DATE: 3/12/2018

Procedure: Researcher Greene, with the assistance of two understudies, are to attempt to repeatedly remove layers from SCP-XXXX-1 to discover the total amount of layers contained.
Results: Researchers successfully removed 8 layers before stopping due to physical exhaustion and lack of storage space for removed layers.
Researcher Notes: Although the experiment was a failure, it wasn’t without discovery. Firstly it turns out that each inner egg has a unique design. Carol really liked the green and gold one, I believe it was layer 6. Not really my aesthetic, but you gotta hand it to the creator for the work put in: these things are huge! Also, they’re heavy. The wood isn’t exactly paper thin. Interestingly, the whole egg is never heavier than the outer shell. I have some ideas for how we can crack this thing open – I’m gonna need another experiment.

Experiment Log- XXXX-E2:

Head Researcher: Researcher Greene

DATE: 3/14/2018

Procedure: A research team composed of Researcher Greene and 3 junior researchers is to repeatedly remove layers from SCP-XXXX-1 to discover the total amount of layers contained. This will be done with a celling mounted crane to remove the top section of the outer layer, piloted by one junior researcher. Another junior researcher is to remove the bottom section of the outer layer while Researcher Greene and the final junior researcher steady the inner layer. The removed layer is to be transferred on to SCP-XXXX-2. The research team may take breaks at their discretion.
Results: Experiment suspended after 80 layers removed. Experiment conducted in 4 sessions.
Researcher Notes: This thing is big, way bigger than we thought. I’m starting to think its dolls all the way down. Wait, is the whole thing a doll? Or is each layer its own doll? I’ll have to bring this up after morning calisthenics. Anyway, looks like the designs repeat. Only a few of them so far, but I imagine we saw around 70 unique designs total. Although we think these things are endless, I would like to dive down a few more layers, if only to document the total amount of designs.

Experiment Log- XXXX-E3:

Head Researcher: Researcher Greene

DATE: 3/19/2018

Procedure: A research team composed of Researcher Greene and 3 junior researchers is to follow the same protocol as Experiment XXXX-E2. In addition, upon removal of the top section of the outer layer, two wall-mounted presses are to be attached to the inner layer to facilitate quicker removal of the bottom section.
Results: Experiment suspended after 50 additional layers removed. The body of a deceased rat was found inside total layer 114. Experiment conducted in 2 sessions.
Researcher Notes: Big discovery, there’s stuff in this thing! Other than more eggs, that is. We found a rat, or more specifically a rat carcass. Not sure how long it’s been trapped – my guess is it took up shop while the things were being assembled and nobody noticed. This makes me wonder what it’s like to be in one of these things: The eggs are bigger on the inside so I think I should be able to fit stuff in with it. This incident has my mind racing with ideas… I wonder if I can get clearance to use a D-class…

Experiment Log- XXXX-E4:

Head Researcher: Researcher Greene

DATE: 3/19/2018

Procedure: With their agreement, junior researcher ████████ is to climb into SCP-XXXX-1 holding a small Handheld Transceiver. 5 layers are to be removed from SCP-XXXX-2 and nested around the researcher. Researcher Greene is to stay in contact with junior researcher ████████ during this process. After a period of 12 minutes has elapsed, 5 layers are to be removed from SCP-XXXX-1 and placed onto SCP-XXXX-2 and researcher ████████ is to exit SCP-XXXX-1.
Results: Experiment successful. Researcher ████████ reported no loss of comfort inside SCP-XXXX-1. Communications over radio [REDACTED]
Researcher Notes: This is weird. The experiment was a success, nothing dangerous occurred and ████████ exited safely. But something weird occurred with the comms.[REDACTED] Further experimentation needed.

Experiment Log- XXXX-E5:

Head Researcher: Researcher Greene

DATE: 3/23/2018

Procedure: A watch, the personal possession of Researcher Greene, is to be lowered into SCP-XXXX-1. The watch is to be checked for accuracy before the experiment. The outer layer of SCP-XXXX-1 is to be sealed. After 5 minutes have passed, the watch is to be removed and compared to the time displayed on the in-lab wall clock, with any inaccuracies measured. The watch is then to be re-tuned. This procedure is to repeated with 1, 2, 3, 5, and 10 layers placed over SCP-XXXX-1, taken from SCP-XXXX-2.
Results: Experiment successful. Below is a list of measured temporal discrepancies:

Procedure: 1 D-class subject is to climb into SCP-XXXX-1, along with a Foundation-provided bottle of water. With the protocol used in Experiment XXXX-E3, researchers are to cover SCP-XXXX-1 with 19 layers taken from SCP-XXXX-2. After 30 minutes have elapsed, subject is to be removed from SCP-XXXX-1. Upon the successful retrieval of the subject, a small interview is to be conducted.
Results: Subject D-8831 entered SCP-XXXX-1 with little resistance, other than mild complaints of discomfort. Experiment proceeded with no unexpected occurrences. D-8831 successfully retrieved. The water bottle had not been opened. Log of subsequent interview below.

D-8831: First things first, it's not shaped for this. There is no way you can expect me to sit inside that thing and be comfortable. Especially not with that smaller egg in my way.

Researcher Greene: Ignoring the geometry, did you feel any other anomalous effects?

D-8831: Umm, not that I know of. It was really quiet, I guess. I know those eggs do some space warpy shit, but it surprised me. I felt really alone, even if was only for two minutes or so.

Researcher Greene: Are you sure it was only for two minutes? We had you in there for a full half-hour, not including the time it takes to place and remove the layers.

Specifications for Use of SCP-XXXX for Containment of Safe-Class Objects

Abstract— With the growing number of items in Foundation storage serving little to no use in the objectives of the Foundation or otherwise inert waste products that pose a risk to information containment, the desire for an effective waste removal plan has been noted. SCP-XXXX presents a viable method for disposing of such materials with little foreseeable drawback.

I. INTRODUCTION
