Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept within a standard storage unit at least 500 meters below the surface, favorably below a sea/ocean. Due to further investigations has the Fragment to be accessible on demand.

Description: SCP-XXXX refers to an around 7cm wide stone fragment that resembles a spread out wing of a bird. It seems to be broken from a larger structure/statue. The object has the property to change the behavior of the entire avian population within an estimated 500m radius around it. All affected species are prone to much more aggressive behavior towards any perceived entities except for other affected specimens. During attacks, specimens will target the eyes of their victim whenever possible.

WHILE I RAN AWAY UND AFTER TUMBLED IT CAME BACK TO TEAR OUT THE OTHER ONE!! GOD
DAMN COME HERE QUICK I CAN'T BEAR THIS!]
Police: [Sir I need you to try and find your way towards the street so that the Ambulance can > find you.]

Police [Sir…?]

[The Conversation ended after the Policeman didn't get any response for 3 minutes.]

Two field agents were dispatched after the man was eventually found and brought into a nearby hospital, suffering from severe blood loss and with both of his eyes missing. Upon pick up, one of the paramedics also suffered a head wound as a raven attacked in the black of night.

Upon arrival in the area, the agents immediately had to withdraw into their car to avoid a similar incident. They continued to the hospital where the man was recovering to interview him about the event.

Translated transcript of the interview:

Agent A: [Hello Mr. F█████ I am Mr. Smith and this is my partner Mr. May]

Victim: [Hello..so you guys want to know what happened? ]
Agent B: [Yes sir, we would like to hear your recollection of the events of last night.]

Victim: [Okay, let me tell you what happened. I have lived here for all my life and
suddenly, I'm coming home after my run and AN OWL ATTACKS ME FOR NO REASON AND TEARS
OUT MY EYES!]

Agent A: [So, you say something like this has never happened before?]

Victim [No, of course not! Owls are supposed to be afraid of humans! We aren't their
Prey. But that thing came down on me like it was hunting for eyes all her life! The bastard even left > me lying in agony on the ground after the attack. Like it just wanted my eyes and nothing more..]
Agent A: [I see. You said something about a car accident on the emergency call, what can you > tell us about that?]

Police [Car what?.. Oh, yea. Look, I don't know. I just heard some tires screeching, followed
by the sound of a car hitting a tree, from the old road in the woods. As I ran over I saw a Pickup
truck with some cray thing tied on the back leaving in a real hurry but I couldn't check out more
and now I never will]

[Alright, thank you for your time, sir. If you recall anything, here is our number. Have a nurse dial it > for you.]

MTF Lambda-4 "Birdwatchers" was dispatched to determine the source of this sudden event.
The taskforce was equipped with an armored vehicle and heavy head protection to investigate the site of the car crash.
The team did not find a broken car as expected, but stop marks on the road and some car parts next to a tree that was also marked by the accident. Every bit of these leftovers was, under heavy attacks from every avian specimen, retrieved, cataloged and brought to site-06-3 for further investigation.
After the taskforces leaving, the Agents that were left behind in Kehl reported a sudden drop of the aggression and a complete reversion of the normal behavior of all the birds in the area.
The team made it to the site with heavy bruisings in the armored vehicle, after every bird they drove by started a suicidal attack against the car and furthermore their passengers.

After identifying SCP-XXXX as the fragment of, what seems to be, a statue on the back of that Pickup truck, an open investigation was immediately started to find the truck and their drivers, for nobody knows how strong the full artifact must be.
Current Investigations are ongoing.
