SCP-4906 - Chalice
Initial Draft
Drafts and Notes.
Item #: SCP-4906
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4906 is to be kept within a standard containment unit within Site 73. A receptacle containing eight liters of saltwater is to be located within the unit, with the water level being maintained via an external pipe. In the event of power failure, an backup generator and pump should provide a constant stream of water to the receptacle.
Description: SCP-4906 is a electrum alloy chalice with inset with a large green gem of unknown composition. Engraved upon the surface of the chalice are rough depictions of willow and poplar trees.
The interior of SCP-4906 is constantly filled with the closest fluid nearby, at a speed proportionality to the viscosity of the fluid and its height within SCP-4906. Upon reaching the top of the chalice, the flow of fluid to the chalice appears to halt, though sources of liquid nearby continue to drain at a consistent rate. If liquid is added externally to the chalice, the liquid level will not rise, though the composition of the solution will change over time respectively.
When SCP-4906 is filled completely, the engravings on the surface of the chalice florescence the color of the solution contained. If the solution consists of pure water absent of impurities, an minor increase in growth is observed with all flora within 20 meters, with tropism directed toward SCP-4906.

Item #: SCP-4905
Object Class: Thaumiel
Special Containment Procedures: The land surrounding SCP-4905 (designated Site-107) has been purchased by the Foundation under the guise of government research and is surrounded by multiple walls and barricades; signs marking the area as federal land are to be displayed. The area has been registered as a restricted airspace. Any aircraft entering are to be disabled and the personnel on board given Class A Amnestics. On-site personnel are to monitor SCP-4905-1 instances for any distinct changes, which should then be reported to the relevant Senior Researcher, Mobile Task Force, or Foundation site. Any experimentation with anomalous objects requires approval from the Site Director and a Senior Researcher with a clearance of Level 4 or higher.
Description: SCP-4905 is a 37 meter stone obelisk of unknown origins dating back to the 13th century, located in Antarctica. Compositional analysis of SCP-4905 reveals it to be composed in majority of granite, with a capstone of electrum alloy and an unidentified metal.
SCP-4905’s primary anomalous property manifests when the Sun reaches its apex. During a period of 2-3 minutes, SCP-4905 casts multiple shadows (referred to collectively as SCP-4905-1) with differing lengths of 0.5-8 meters around it, the points of which direct toward sources of anomalous activity. SCP-4905-1 instances differ in length based on the strength, concentration, and distance of the anomalous activity; major points are focused on the location of various Foundation sites and contained anomalies.
SCP-4905’s secondary anomalous property activates when an anomalous object is brought within a 80 meter radius. Anomalous objects within this area display decreased anomalous properties and effects ranging from a 25-80% decrease. Investigation is currently ongoing for the use of SCP-4905 as a neutralization site. (See Addendum 4905-2).
Addendum 4905-1: The following is a log of notable changes in SCP-4905-1 instances, designated by alphabetic notation.
1941/09/23: SCP-4905-AR, corresponding to Containment Area 25b, was found to increase to a length of 3.7 meters. On-site personnel notified the Site Director of the change, as well as Containment Area 25b. At 12:07, SCP-076-2 reanimated and was successfully neutralized by security personnel.
1941/11/20: A new instance of SCP-4905-1 appeared, pointing towards La Paz, Mexico, and was designated SCP-4905-XZ. Due to its length of 1.2 meters, no investigation was made of the anomaly.
1942/10/13: SCP-4905-XZ, corresponding to an unknown anomaly in La Paz, Mexico, was found to have increased to 7.4 meters. Due to Site-74’s proximity to the anomaly, attempts were made to notify Director Cornwell, which failed due to unexplained equipment malfunction. Communication was later received confirming the surge to be the result of [REDACTED].
1954/01/22: Three instances of SCP-4905-1 corresponding to Foundation sites (Site-17, Site-19, and [REDACTED]) all increased to a length of 4.3 meters. Each site was notified of the change and MTF Epsilon-11 (“Nine-Tailed Fox”) was informed in preparation for potential containment breaches. At 15:49, lockdown was lifted as no abnormal anomalous activity had been reported by any of the sites. The following cycle of SCP-4905-1 found that each instance corresponding to the sites had returned to their original lengths.
1955/03/23: An new instance of SCP-4905-1 (designated SCP-4905-CX) developed with a length of 3.4 meters, pointing to approximately Boring, Oregon. MTF Sigel-9 (“Oregon Trailblazers”) was dispatched to the location and discovered two large tunnels approximately 5.3 meters in diameter in the surrounding area. Use of a Kant counter measured the area at a decaying 127 Humes, though no anomalous entities or objects were found. The following cycle of SCP-4905-1 did not include SCP-4905-CX, suggesting the corresponding entity or phenomenon was no longer present or active.
1987/11/01: SCP-4905-T, corresponding to the Area-142, grew from a length of 1.2 meters to 3.4 meters. Shortly thereafter, Area-142 detonated its on-site nuclear device, resulting in the death of all personnel and the destruction of the area. The event was later found to be a result of SCP-1440’s anomalous properties.
2015/12/05: A recurrence of the SCP-4905-1 instance corresponding to Boring, Oregon (SCP-4905-CX) was found, with a length identical to its first appearance (3.4 meters). MTF Sigel-9, in collaboration with MTF Beta-4 (“Castaways”) and a team of staff from Wilson’s Wildlife Solutions, were able to locate the source of the anomaly on 2015/12/06 as SCP-3676.
Addendum 4905-2:
On 11/12/1943, Researcher Marks brought SCP-1008 into Site-107 for the purposes of testing SCP-4905’s neutralization of anomalous properties. Testing of D-Class personnel found SCP-1008’s effect to be reduced, with the first stage of its effects being its sole anomalous properties. However, reports later surfaced of on-site personnel experiencing the effects of SCP-1008, including those without prior contact or experience with the object. Manifestations of SCP-1008’s effects in site personnel were accelerated, with subjects reaching the second stage within three days and the third stage within five. It is hypothesized that the neutralization effect produced by SCP-4905 distributes anomalous properties within the area it affects, thus neutralizing the object itself while enhancing the area around it with said anomalous properties. Due the hazard this presents, testing with anomalous objects is now prohibited within Site-107 unless given express permission by the Site Director and a researcher of Level 4 clearance or higher.

Item #: SCP-4510
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4510 is to be contained within a 7m x 7m locked cell within Site-23. Security personnel guarding SCP-4510 are to be monitored for changes in sleeping habits and insomnia. Any personnel displaying these changes or attempting to directly view SCP-4510 are to be instantly secured and isolated until said effects have fully diminished. Experimentation with SCP-4510 requires the authorization of the site manager and approval from one personnel with a clearance of Level 3 or higher.
Description: SCP-4510 is an incorporeal entity of variable appearance. Subjects indirectly viewing SCP-4510 have reported seeing a large serpent composed of various smaller snakes, a deformed and mutilated ape, and a carrion vulture with abnormally large wingspan and claws on its wings. All forms of this SCP-4510 reveal it to be missing eyes, which appear to have been torn out with damage to surrounding tissue; in some cases, this injury reveals underlying bone.
Subjects within 3-5 meters of SCP-4510 experience an intense compulsion to directly view it, persisting up to 3 days. During this time, subjects may experience mild sleep disorders such as insomnia and sleepwalking, both of which increase in severity the closer the subject is to SCP-4510.
Any subjects directly viewing SCP-4510 experience intense fear and paralysis until their line of sight is broken. Upon 17 seconds of unbroken viewing, SCP-4510 will disappear and the subject will become a host for the entity.
After infection, closing of the host’s eyes, whether from natural sleep, blinking, or other means, will result in them viewing a desert landscape during a heavy storm, rather than the back of their eyelids. Subject will be unable to interact or move within this environment besides turning their head, and will experience an increasing irrational fear the longer their eyes remain closed. Extended exposure will follow four stages, progressing as the time the subject’s eyes are closed increases.
Stage One
After approximately 13 hours of exposure, the subject will view SCP-4510 in the distance of the landscape. SCP-4510 will gradually move toward the subject at a slow pace, following a meandering path. Notably, SCP-4510 will only move while the subject’s eyes are closed or obstructed. During this stage, SCP-4510 will forgo any appendages which would increase its speed, prefering to use claw-like limbs to slowly move forward. Subject will not display any psychological tendencies during Stage One.
Stage Two
After approximately 14 hours of exposure, the pace at which SCP-4510 moves toward the subject increases and it will begin following a direct path toward the subject. While their eyes are closed, the subject will be unable to move their head away from SCP-4510 and will display a desire to keep their eyes open and prevent blinking. Subject will show symptoms of insomnia and significant changes in sleeping habits, as well as increasing fear.
Stage Three
After 16 hours of exposure, SCP-4510 will utilize any appendages it has to its disposal, taking to the air if winged and leaping forward with great speed otherwise. During this time, the subject will attempt to keep their eyes open by any means, including the use of knives or other implements to remove their eyelids. Subject will devote all energy to keeping their eyes open, ignoring any food or water.
Stage Four
Upon 17 hours of exposure, SCP-4510 will be in close proximity to the subject and begin slowing its approach. During this period, the subject will attempt to mutilate their own eyes with their nails or any sharp object available. After 17 hours, subject’s internal organs will undergo accelerated necrosis in a fashion similar to [REDACTED] and their epidermis will peel away beginning from the eyes, leading to instantaneous death. SCP-4510 will then emerge from the subject's corpse in a passive state; during this time, it exhibits none of its effects even if viewed directly. Notably, subjects viewing SCP-4510 during this time will perceive it with the former host's eyes.
It is hypothesized that SCP-4510 is ‘satiated’ after a subject’s death and does not require a host for the short period following. Further testing has been proposed by Dr. Ward on the nature of entity.
Foreword: D-4510-A5 was part of experiment 4150-██ with SCP-4510, the purpose of which was to discover more about the landscape which SCP-4510 inhabits during infection.
<Begin Log>
Dr. Ward: Hello, D-4510-A5. I’m here to ask you a few questions.
D-4510-A5: What’s [EXPLETIVE] happening to me, you [EXPLETIVE]?
Dr. Ward: Please answer the questions. First, what do you see when you close your eyes?
D-4510-A5: (Closing eyes) A bunch of sand and it’s [EXPLETIVE] raining. There are these mountains in the distance.
Dr. Ward: Do you see any sign of the entity we call SCP-4510?
D-4510-A5: You mean the ape thing?
Dr. Ward: Ape? Could you please clarify?
D-4510-A5: The ape in the distance with its skin peeling off. It doesn’t have any [EXPLETIVE] eyes. (D-4510-A5 begins panicking)
Dr. Ward: Restrain yourself please, or I will be forced to-
D-4510-A5: It’s [EXPLETIVE] moving faster. The [EXPLETIVE] ape is- (D-4510-A5 opens his eyes and attempts to escape the room)
<End Log>
Closing Statement: D-4510-A5 was restrained by security personnel and removed from the room. A few hours after the incident, subject attempted to mutilate his eyes with his nails and was terminated, leaving behind SCP-4510 in an inactive state.
Addendum 4510-A:
At 22:07 on ██/██/████, Dr. Ward was discovered attempting to access SCP-4510’s containment chamber. After being restrained, it was discovered that he was exhibiting the same symptoms displayed by subjects within the 3-5 meter range of SCP-4510, including compulsion, with additional symptoms such as paranoia and irrationality. It is hypothesized that viewing SCP-4510 indirectly for long periods causes the onset of the symptoms usually associated with being near it. Dr. Ward was administered a Class A amnestic and reassigned to Site-19 following the incident.
